Can We Kiss?

Summary:

Sieun swears he loves all of his friends equally, but he can admit that Juntae is a special case. With Juntae, Sieun allows him to get away with more than he would with anyone else. Whatever Juntae ask, or whatever Juntae may need, Sieun has this urge to get it done. He couldn’t help it. So, when Juntae begins requesting kisses from Sieun whenever he gets the tiniest bit of alcohol in his system, who was Sieun to deny him?

Notes:

Wahhhh happy holiday my Squintz, I hope you enjoy my secret santa’s gift to you. I wasn’t sure how to go about it, or what plot to go with that wasn’t too similar with what I’m currently writing. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did brainstorming it. Love ya!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Seo Juntae was one of the more interesting people that Sieun had encountered and became friends with. It wasn’t anything crazy special either. It was mostly the fact that Juntae had this unexplainable impact on Sieun’s usual character.

Sieun is still himself; however, when Juntae gets in the mix of things, Sieun finds it a lot harder not to sway. He is pretty stubborn about his beliefs and what he does, but with Juntae… all of that goes out the window.

When it comes to Juntae, Sieun finds himself being easily persuaded into doing things for him, to the point that Juntae sometimes doesn’t have to ask. Sieun just knows what he wants. Sure, he would sigh or pretend to mull things over, but he still does it.

For Juntae at least.

If anyone else were to make a request similar to Juntae’s, he would take at least five business days to pretend to think about it before declining. The same couldn’t be said for Juntae’s request because Sieun finds himself accepting without much thought behind it.

He can’t really explain how it started…

Sieun can admit that he always had this soft spot for Juntae. All of their friends do, so it’s not that out of character for him to be softer towards Juntae as well.

It’s more about the type of request that started coming in and when they happen.

First off, Juntae was the textbook definition of a lightweight; he couldn’t hold his alcohol well at all. He’s usually so far gone after a couple of drinks. It was these moments when Sieun really began to pick up Juntae’s habits.

Juntae was a touchy drunk— like really touchy. With just a little bit of alcohol in his system, he becomes some kind of koala bear, always clinging to the closest person to him.

Everyone in their group has become a victim of Juntae’s clinginess. His head lolled on their shoulder, or he held on tightly to their arm. This usually leads to the occasional groping against the other person's muscles. Baku tends to satisfy Juntae; he always seems pleased enough by the way Juntae tends to hype up his head about his ‘large muscles’. Suho also allows Juntae to grope from what Sieun has noticed, usually throwing an almost cocky grin whenever Juntae starts fawning over them.

And of course, their friends find it cute; it was fitting for Juntae to behave this way with them. Then again, Sieun can agree, Juntae was cute with it, always saying these oddly soft yet cheesy lines that make everyone warm inside— Sieun included, unfortunately.

It was always something along the lines of “I’m glad we’re all friends” or “I love you guys so much.” Sometimes his eyes are all glossy and wide, and there’s a pout on his face to seal the deal.

Simple phrases, very tame. Very innocent. You can say it could be typical drunken talk.

However, this is usually done when the entire group is together getting drunk. They don’t live with Juntae as Sieun does. They don’t witness how Juntae is after they go out to drink.

Being Juntae’s roommate and having to be the one to take him back to their shared dorm, once they’re in the comfort of their own space, Juntae soon becomes… needy. And it’s not like the need lasts long; Juntae seems to just want enough before he’s incapable of keeping his eyes open and clocks out for the night.

This is usually where the request from Juntae starts coming in, and Sieun, who became far too soft for him, accepts the request.

To be more specific, Juntae always wants to kiss, which usually leads to making out until he can’t anymore. And Sieun feels like he’s the only one who can truly handle that side of him. Sieun has become the main one to suffer the most from Juntae’s clinginess anyway.

Not to say that he’s really ‘suffering’, but he definitely experiences it more than the rest of their friends since he quite literally lives with Juntae. Sieun had Juntae sit next to him numerous times during their drinking outings, so he was used to Juntae locking their arms together or his head falling against his shoulder, his eyes closed shut as he slurs out soft words to the group. He was used to heading back to their shared dorm at the end of the night, buzzing from the drinks in their system. He was used to locking the door behind them before Juntae was grinning at him, still clinging to his arm.

Juntae will always follow the same script, asking if they can sleep together in his bed to cuddle, and Sieun will nod, never denying, because why would he? It is routine now. It’s routine that Juntae looks at him with his lips jutted out in a pout and wide doe-eyes once they’re lying in his bed, his voice is low, soft, as he asks for a kiss.

As always, Sieun gives in. Leaning in, letting their lips brush against each other, small pecks before Juntae whines for more. The pecks turn to a tongue being slipped into the other’s mouth, hot and wet. Needy and hungry, desperately wanting more until his lips are bruised red. Or until Juntae thanks him before letting his eyes flutter shut, and he snoozes off to sleep.

The first time it happened, it took him a while to process Juntae’s request.

Kissing one of your best friends while drunk isn’t that unheard of, but nothing like this has happened to Sieun before. In the beginning, it was… different. It felt almost experimental. Shy kisses, awkward hand placement, but enough to feel good. However, this happens often enough that Sieun now knows what to do to have Juntae satisfied enough to go to sleep happily. A hand to his waist, or a nibble against his lips, and Juntae was already undone from the seams.

But once again, this was usually done in the comfort of their space. Just the two of them. And it was freeing doing these things together, there was this secure feeling doing these things for Juntae, yet there was also this rush knowing that they’re doing this secretive thing like sharing kisses with each other that neither of them question when sober.

Sieun was fine with it. What they do wasn't some kind of secret hidden from the rest of their friends; it was just something he does for Juntae during specific moments that they don’t know about. It changes nothing between their friendship, they still treat each other the same way afterwards. And honestly, Sieun prefers things this way anyway, no complications at all. Very simple

Until things did become complicated and too much for him to bother thinking about.

Hanging out together wasn't an uncommon occurrence among their friend group. Sometimes they were planned hangouts, most of the time someone shows up at the other person's dorm, and suddenly everyone is there. It was normal at this point, receiving a message that everyone is going to be at ‘x persons’ dorm for the night, and the rest of the group follows.

What was uncommon was having their friends over to his and Juntae’s place.

Of course, their friends visited many times. Their dorm room was one of the larger ones with more space than most, but they had never hosted anything before. This was the first time that they planned something, a little Christmas themed party between the five of them, before their winter break came up.

Sieun isn't sure how the Christmas party stopped being just an idea being thrown out into the air and actually planned, but the next thing he knew, he and Juntae were decorating their dorm with Christmas decorations. A wreath to the door, a small tree placed in the corner of their room. Juntae found Christmas related plushies from the store to place under the tree.

Everything becomes festive quickly, and Sieun doesn't say much as he helps Juntae out. Juntae even forced Sieun into reindeer antler headbands and a silly sweater after Sieun claimed he was just going to wear a green hoodie and call it. Juntae was also wearing a matching pair of both.

“Let’s take some pictures together, Sieunnie.”

A couple of hundred pics later, with Juntae close to him, and going through tons of poses, it finally reached the time for the party, and their friends began trickling in.

Baku arrived with hot food and not long after both Hyuntak and Suho arrived with arms full of other snacks— Juntae’s request, and more soju than they needed.

Everything starts off as normal, or as normal as his friends are. All of them were gathered on the floor, the food placed on the low table. Baku hooked up his playlist to the speaker to take control of the music. The usual conversations, banter, and teasing flowed naturally as they ate and drank. Sieun enjoyed it; he was more of an observer, watching everyone around him enjoy themselves and keeping his input to a minimum.

As expected, it also doesn’t take long before Juntae begins getting tipsy. He was sitting next to Sieun, and he saw his cheeks blushed pink and the permanent grin on his face. He was leaning against Sieun, seated right next to him with his back against the bed, looking at their other friends' antics. Baku and Hyuntak were going at it, as usual, and had Suho dragged into it playing both sides while still stuffing his mouth.

It was enjoyable to watch; the previous argument was lost already, and they were both on a whole other topic to fight over. And Sieun’s body was warm from both the soju he downed, and Juntae pressed against him.

Sieun felt content at this moment. Everything felt as it would if the group went out normally. And Juntae’s behavior was normal… but then he began squirming next to Sieun. He doesn't think much of it at first as he takes another small sip from his glass, but then Juntae lets out a small noise that is close to a pleased hum.

Sieun turns his head slightly, “Good?”

Juntae hums once more, a smile still on his face as he leans his head on Sieun’s shoulder. Sieun takes that as a sign to face forward again.

Then, after a moment…

“Sieunnie.”

“Hmm?”

Sieun turns his head once again, and this time Juntae lifts his head from Sieun’s shoulder.

Juntae stares at him, and for some reason, the look in his eyes sends a wave of warmth through Sieun’s body. He’s choosing to blame that reaction on the sip he took moments before. Sieun knows that wasn’t that case though because just from the look on Juntae’s face, he knows what Juntae wants.

He knows what Juntae is going to ask for.

But they can’t…

They are still in front of their friends, they never—

“Sieunnie~” Juntae says again, his voice light, and the sound of Sieun’s name passing his lips was too sweet. He shifts again to sit on the back of his legs, his hands placed in front of him so he can lean close into Sieun’s space. Juntae pauses before pulling back, and a series of giggles leaves his mouth.

“We’re home now, Sieunnie…”

“Yeah, we are.” Sieun doesn’t remind him that they never left their dorm. Juntae must have forgotten in his drunken state.

Juntae giggles again. His eyes leave Sieun’s before slowly drifting to Sieun’s mouth. Sieun feels that usual stir in his stomach at Juntae’s not so subtle staring.

Juntae smiles at him again, “Your lips are chapped.” He mutters. He begins to dig in his front pocket, and Sieun feels his face burn more than he would like to admit.

It didn't take long before Juntae was holding a cherry flavored chapstick in his hand; it was the kind that slightly tints your lips when applied. Sieun only knows this because Juntae uses it in his own lips all the time.

Juntae pouts slightly as he uncaps the chapstick. “You always forget to put something on, Sieun.” His fingers wrap around Sieun’s chin lightly as he begins to apply the chapstick.

It’s honestly not like Sieun forgets… he just doesn’t care about doing it. Besides, just like now, Juntae will do it for him. It is not him being lazy per se, rather… It’s their thing now. Sieun doesn’t need to worry about putting it on when Juntae is always equipped and ready to put it on for him.

It’s just that now the reasoning was for Juntae’s own benefits.

Juntae leaned back with a smile when he was done, putting the cap back on the chapstick. Sieun stared at him as he rubbed his lips together, coating them in the cherry chapstick.

“Cherry always looks so pretty on you.” He says as he puts the chapstick away and sits on his back legs in front of Sieun just as before.

While Sieun can still hear the bickering from the other three overlapping with the music, his focus is now solely on Juntae.

The single question runs through his mind.

What does Juntae want to do now?

It’s a question Sieun doesn’t need answered because he knows the answer to it, but still… Will Juntae go through with what he usually wants from him when they’re alone after drinking?

That question gets answered when Juntae leans forward right in Sieun’s space. Sieun can feel his warm breath against his lips and he has the urge to let his eyes flutter shut, but he fights it.

“Jun…” He whispers. He has nothing more to say, he doesn’t know what else to say… All he could mutter was Juntae’s name.

Juntae tilts his head, almost in a teasing way. That’s when he finally leans in and Sieun feels the faint peck against his lips.

“Sweeter now,” Juntae says, followed by a giggle.

Sieun blinks, mostly out of shock that he kissed him, and Juntae’s words.

“Juntae-”

“Kiss? Please, Sieunnie?”

So Juntae definitely doesn’t realize that it’s not just them as it usually would be, or he just doesn’t care. And at the moment, Sieun sort of doesn’t care either, especially since Juntae just kick-started this.

Besides, Sieun already knows what to do. He knows what Juntae likes, what has him whining, begging, and moaning. He knows how easily Juntae can get worked up and how much noise he makes when Sieun kisses him just as he likes. Juntae was easy in a sense, almost sensitive to everything.

So, the reasonable side of Sieun, who should tell Juntae to wait or remind him that their friends are still right across from them, is completely out the window. Instead, he falls for the teasing look from Juntae.

“Okay.”

That was all Juntae needed to hear as he grins again and clambers into Sieun’s lap. He wastes no time connecting their lips and kissing Sieun in his usually desperate hunger. His eyes closed as their lips slot together perfectly, already knowing their way around each other.

Arms are thrown around Sieun’s neck, pulling him impossibly closer. Sieun’s hands find the small waist, giving the squeeze that has Juntae gasping and parting his mouth just enough for Sieun to slip his tongue past. He tasted inside Juntae's mouth, his senses being consumed by the food and soju they all shared.

He hears Juntae’s little whimper, and his hold on Sieun tightens. Heads tilt, and the kiss only deepens. Sieun’s body grows hot as Juntae presses closer. His fingers slip under Juntae’s sweater, touching the warm skin. He arches into Sieun, their bodies almost flushed against each other.

Sieun knows this is too much, not for them but for the audience that he’s sure is watching now. However, with Juntae in his hold like this, it is very hard for Sieun to pretend to care about stopping.

Juntae gasps again, and they break apart slightly, “Sieunnie…”

“Hmm…?”

“Your lips still feel chapped.” He says followed by a giggle. Sieun doesn’t respond back and it’s not like he has to because Juntae continues speaking. “I’ll soften them up more, okay?”

Sieun doesn’t know how he plans on doing that, but Juntae leans in again and connects their lips in another kiss. This time it was softer, not shy but not rushed either. Sieun melts into it, he can't help it.

Their lips move against each other lightly, it’s almost as if it’s a first kiss. There's a flutter in his chest, one that he is used to feeling when he does this with Juntae. The other boy hums happily as he nibbles against Sieun’s bottom lip but doesn’t push for an entrance.

When they pull back this time, Sieun becomes aware of just how silent the room is. Before kissing Juntae, there was so much more chatter, and the music that was turned on filled the space.

But now…

Only the music could be heard, and Juntae’s tiny pants. Juntae doesn’t seem aware of any of it, though; he only smiles at Sieun again, leans in to peck his lips a couple more times before letting his forehead fall against his shoulder.

“You’re so fun to kiss, Sieunnie. I like it a lot.” Juntae says out loud.

With how silent everyone else was, Sieun’s wouldn’t be surprised if everyone heard it.

He only hums in response, bringing a hand up to Juntae's back and rubbing it lightly. He takes in a breath before looking up past Juntae and taking in the shocked look of his friends. Baku’s jaw was practically on the floor, Suho’s mouth was still stuff but his chewing ceased and Hyuntak’s entire face was redder than the hoodie he was wearing.

And honestly, Sieun doesn’t know what to say as the silence stretches on.

In Sieun’s eyes, he doesn’t find anything weird about kissing Juntae since it has become a new normal for him. He’s just doing what Juntae wants. However, he knows that this was new to everyone else; no one knows what they do when it’s just the two of them after getting drunk.

There was another beat of silence before it felt like all hell broke loose. Questions overlapped, accusations begins being thrown at him, and Juntae was busy muttering under his breath phrases that Sieun could barely understand.

“Can you guys calm down?” Sieun says, finally.

“Calm down?” Baku starts. He raises a finger and points at Sieun. “Why are you kissing Juntae?! Wait— are you guys secretly together?! Why did Juntae choose you?”

“… What? He just does this when he’s drunk.”

“Why is he only kissing you then? He’s never done that to any of us.” Hyuntak says as if he was accusing Sieun.

For crying out loud…

“You guys are not kissing Juntae,” Sieun says firmly. That’s his thing with Juntae; they just don’t understand.

“But you just did.” Suho finally swallows what was in his mouth, and an equally confused look was on his face.

“Yeah, but I always do this.”

Baku gasps louder than needed. “Always?! Now that’s not fair at all.”

Sieun leans back against the bed again. They began talking over each other, arguing amongst themselves over kissing Juntae and Juntae was just as clueless as he remained pressed against Sieun, still talking his soft gibberish.

A sigh passes his lips and he closes his eyes to try to drown out the noise around him. He focused only on Juntae who was in his lap and wrapped around him. Sieun felt a little lighter knowing that Juntae was the one who wanted to kiss him, and that he enjoyed it so much.

Juntae really doesn’t know the things he does to Sieun…

Notes:

Plot Twist: Juntae knows exactly what he is doing and what he wants :p

Sorry for the abrupt ending… the screen just faded to black… yeah okay ><
