"Wenlang, I would like another pup."
The words made said Alpha freeze and look away from where his twin daughters were sitting at the table doing their homework with their big brother's help and guidance, his youngest playing on the floor not too far away, to stare at his mate, knowing not to question the Omega because Gao Tu had that serious look on his face, just like he had prior to Wenan's birth.
The idea wasn't that horrible to the Wenlang, don't get him wrong, but he always worried about his bunny's health, even if every pregnancy following Gao Lele was healthier for him, due to Shen Wenlang's presence. In fact, they didn't even know about their youngest until she surprised them one evening seven years ago, that's how easy the pregnancy had been for Gao Tu, which had come as a shock to both of them. Still, the Alpha was concerned so he walked towards his Omega, reaching out to brush a hand through that soft hair he loved so much (honestly, he loved all of his bunny, much to said man's shyness).
"Gao Tu, what brought this on...?"
"Maybe it's baby fever..." the Omega mused, eyes sweeping over their children a bit further away, knowing they were talking too quietly for them to be heard. "... it's just, I'm watching them grow, and it's amazing, but I never thought I could have a family, what with my situation and health back then, so I never wondered about how many children I could have... I genuinely thought Lele was my one and done well..."
Clearly not, was what both of the adults thought in amusement. They now had four healthy children - an Omega in Lele, Yue presented as an S-Class Alpha like her baba, Xin as a beta (which was a bit unexpected but nobody cared, this was their sister and lovely daughter who'd they protect from anyone and anything regardless) and while Wenan had yet show many sings, Gao Tu firmly believed that she was also an Omega, but they wouldn't be certain for a while yet. Truly, neither of the mates cared what their children presented as, they just wanted them healthy, happy and safe, that was all that mattered.
"... I thought about it for years now and I guess we aren't getting any younger so..." indeed, the two of them were now in their early 40's, but still had time and the means to care for all their children, so they had no worries, Gao Tu having not had a health scare in years now, which made his Alpha a very happy man. "... maybe another one or two?"
"Bunny, for how many children are you hoping for?" Wenlang couldn't help but tease his Omega, causing said man to pout which was quickly kissed away by the happy Alpha. "Don't get me wrong, I will love any and all children you give me, you know I was happy to stick with having just Lele, our twins and Wenan were more than welcome but I never would assume..."
"Wenlang, you aren't assuming though, I'm telling you." Gao Tu interrupted him before he could think about the sad times of their separation, it wasn't a time he liked to think about either. "I just think our family still has room to grow, what do you think? I mean, they are all growing up well, but don't think I haven't noticed you being more protective of Lele since he started dating Peanut..."
The Alpha could only grumble a bit about that good-naturedly, remembering how the little Enigma swore he would marry Lele when they were younger, and at this rate, it was likely to happen in a few years. Sure, he didn't have anything against Peanut as a son-in-law (even though he and Hua Yong wondered how they would deal with being best friends *and* in-laws) but it was simply in his nature to worry about his children, especially Lele with how hard Gao Tu's pregnancy with him was, not that you could tell, as their oldest was just as healthy as their younger children but still...
"So I think by the time the inevitable engagement happens, it's probably better to keep you busy by running after some more children." now it was his bunny's turn to tease him which cause Wenlang to give him a big pout, the Omega only laughing as he was gently moved towards their bedroom, the door closing silently behind them. Meanwhile, the children were still busy with what they were doing, Wenan giggling as she kept drawing whatever she was drawing (to Yue it seemed like another house, but you could never known with her sister). The little Alpha was amused by her parents antics so she looked away from her homework, Xin quietly observing Wenan beside her.
"Gege, does that mean we are going to become big sisters again?"
"Yue, focus on your homework." Lele affectionately ruffled her hair, ignoring the pout it earned him. "Look, Xin already finished more while you were busy eavesdropping on our parents."
"In my defense, Xin is better at math than I am..."
The two of them continued to talk amongst themselves, their Beta sister pitching in from time to time but otherwise staying mostly silent (it was simply her personality to be more introverted), Wenan looking up from her drawing to stare at the windows covering the entire wall as rain began to pour, little droplets ending up on the glass.
It was a good day.
