Jazz loved her little brother. God, she loved him. But ever since she found out he was Phantom, something inside her had shifted. She knew he was just a kid. She knew he was trying to protect Amity. She knew he would never harm her.
But she also knew what he could do—possess people, flatten their house with barely any effort. And no matter how much she hated herself for it, fear still coiled in her chest whenever she thought about him.
That fear was one of the biggest reasons she ran to Gotham for her studies. Distance felt like a solution. Danny had things handled: their parents, the GIW, the ghosts. They could talk online; she wouldn’t have to stand in the same room as the thing she loved and feared.
But Gotham was its own kind of nightmare. And when she woke up in a hospital bed, bruised, hurting, and suddenly very small in a very big city, she realized she needed him.
