Work Text:

Jungkook had a problem. A big problem and that problem is his job. He hated it. It was the same old routine every day. Wake up. Go to work. Separate files. Put them where they belong. Go to lunch. Return to filing reports. Then go home at 5. There was nothing he could do about it though. He couldn’t quit, otherwise he wouldn’t eat and bills wouldn’t be paid.

He entered the huge building and made his way to the elevator, nodding to the other workers as he passed them by.

“Good morning.” Fuck him.

“Good day to you ma’am.” Fuck her.

Did he forget to mention he hated the people he worked it with? Well now you know. He couldn't stand them. They were as boring as his job. He said a final good morning to the old lady drinking coffee at her desk before he stepped inside the elevator and scoffed in disgust.

It wasn’t long before Jungkook stepped off at the 7th floor and walked to his desk, passing out greetings along the way. Jungkook dropped his briefcase on floor, took of his jacket, rolled up his white sleeves and got to work.

“Jungkook-shi?”

“Hm?” Jungkook looked up and wanted to roll his eyes towards the heavens.

When is this woman whose name he doesn’t care to remember, realizes that he doesn’t want her or anything that has to do with her.

“May I help you?” His annoyance was growing quickly.

“Yes. As a matter a fact you can.” She ‘seductively’ walked around his desk and trailed a long slender finger up and down his arm.

He brushed her off and pointedly glared at her.

“Why are you here?”  The woman sighed and walked back from around his desk “There’s a board meeting in 10 minutes and you need to be there.”

He grunted in acknowledgement and turned to look for his notepad, not caring if the woman was still standing there or not.

Jungkook was reminded of how much he hated board meetings. There was nothing new to talk about. It was the same old thing just twisted differently to make it seem new and as soon as they were dismissed, he shot out of his seat to go fetch his lunch. He returned to work soon after and before long it was time to go home. Thank God!

Jungkook’s phone vibrated in his pocket to inform him of an incoming call.

“Hello?”

“Jungkook-ah!” He withdrew the phone from his ear to ease the ringing caused from Taehyung’s damn loud voice.

“Yes hyung?”

“Why aren’t you back yet?! I’ve been sitting in your apartment for 2 hours waiting for you!”

Jungkook paused at his car door and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Hyung…how the hell did you get in my apartment?”

“I copied your key of course. Now hurry and get here.” Jungkook didn’t get the chance to ask when the fuck did he get a chance to copy his key because Taehyung had already hung up.

“That hyung, seriously.”

Jungkook was about to open his car when thought he heard someone struggling with something.  It was too dark out to see properly. The sun had already set.

“Hello?”

No one answered but he could still hear the person cursing up a storm.

“Hello?!” He walked in the direction of the sound which wasn’t far and found a car which looks like it had stopped working.

“You fucking piece of Junk. I paid a lot for you and you stopped working?! I better get my fucking money back or so help me God…”

Jungkook’s eyebrow rose as he looked and saw a tiny human being leaning over to look into the hood of the car with a flashlight.

“Excuse me but do you need help with something?”

“No thank you!” The tiny person continued to grumble and curse under their breath.

“Okay. I’ll be leaving then.”  Jungkook turned away from them and was about to walk away when a small hand grabbed him.

“Wait! I’m sorry, I’m just upset.” You don’t say.

The tiny human (that’s what he’s gonna call him) lifted his head out the hood of the car and stuck out his hand for him to shake.

“Jimin. Park jimin. Nice to meet you.”

“I’m Jungkook. Nice to meet you too.” Jungkook was shocked how soft the tiny human’s hands were.  He almost had to urge to stroke it. Almost. He was also well aware how long they’ve been holding hands.

“So tiny- I mean Jimin, you look like you might need a ride. You want a lift?”

“I don’t know you. I can’t just get in a car with you.”

Jungkook gestured to his work building he just left. “You work in there don’t you?”

“Yeah. So?”

“I work there as well although I’ve never seen you.”

“Strange, I know everybody in this building, well I thought I did. Hm…fine. But if you try anything I know a guy name Yoongi that will come after you wherever you are.” Jungkook chuckled as he led the tiny human towards his car but not before Jimin grabbed his keys and bags.

They sat in comfortable silence only breaking it when Jimin gave him directions towards his home.

“So, Jungkook-shi, are you coming to the company party we’re having on Monday?” Oh yeah…it’s Friday. Yes! A whole weekend of nothing but sleeping and playing games.

“I’m not planning to…”

“You should come, I’ll be great!”

“Yeah..that’s what they said last year.” Jungkook mumbled beneath his breath.

“What was that?”

“Nothing.”

“So you’re coming?” He really didn’t want to go to suffer another boring party like last year. “Pleaseee come.”

“Fine” A sudden whoop came from his left and Jungkook jumped in surprise.

“Oh, right here.” Jungkook slowed to a stop before a fucking gigantic house.

“Holy shit.” Jungkook looked at Jimin in shock and even in the dark he could make out his flushed face.

“Uh, thank you for the ride Jungkook-ah. See you on Monday!” And like that Jimin was out of his car and running up to his big black gate. Jungkook waited while Jimin spoke into the intercom and was buzzed in before he drove off to head home to the imposter that is probably eating out all of his food.

All weekend long, the tiny human- no, Jimin wouldn't seem to leave Jungkook’s head. He was so small but had a feisty attitude. He wondered if he would see him again. He wanted to see him again. He was now more determined than ever to go to that party.

“Hyung! Where’s my tie?!” It was Monday and for the first time since he started his job, he was eager to get to work.

“How should I know? I don’t live here!”

“You’re here half the time now where is it?!”

“Again, I don’t kno-oh here it is.” Jungook grabbed his black tie to match his black suit with his white dress shirt underneath before running a sweaty hand through his hair.

“You look nervous, why are you nervous?” Tae cast a suspicious eye at Jungkook before giving him a once over.

“You met someone didn’t you?”

“Maybe. Its got nothing to do with you.”

Jungkook fixed his tie, checked his hair and clothes in the glass once more before grabbing his things.

“Just tell me!”

Taehyung used his body to block Jungkook from leaving.

“Move hyung. I’m going to be late.”

“No.”

Jungkook sighed in exasperation at his hyung behaving like a child rather than the 28 year old he is.

“Fine! Yes, I met someone.”

“What’s her name?”

“It’s a he.”

“Oooh, never knew you swung that way.”

“I don’t make it a thing to voice my preferences everywhere I go.”

“So what’s his name?”

“Not telling you.”

“Does he work with you?”

“I think so. I’ve never seen him in the office though or the building for that matter.”

“Where did you meet him?”

“At the entrance of the building.”

Taehyung combusted into laughter leaving a mildly surprise Jungkook confused.

“I think you like a security guard.” Another round of laughter escaped his hyung.

“He’s not a security guard.”

“Oh yeah? What was he wearing?”

Jungkook tried to remember back to that night to remember what Jimin was wearing but failed.

“Hmm…I don’t remember.”

“You like a security guard.”

Jungkook rolled his eyes and pushed his laughing hyung to the side and out of the way so he could leave. Maybe he did like a security guard. So what.

“Goodbye hyung and go home because I won’t be here later. There is a company party and I’m going.”

“Oh, that reminds me. I have a party to attend to too. I was invited. Can you spare a minute to help me find something to wear?”

“Goodbye hyung!” Jungkook ran out the door before this hyung made him late for work.

Jungkook couldn't focus on anything but seeing Jimin again that day. He walked more than he usually did. He kept his ears perked and eyes open for anyone that might say his name. But the only buzz in the office is about the ‘Big Boss’ actually showing up at the party.

Jungkook has never seen the boss. Taking the fact that he wasn’t the one to hire him out, he should have been able to glimpse the man but he hasn’t. The few meetings plus the company party he attended last year, the boss wasn’t present because something for him apparently came up at those times.

When he went for lunch, his eyes went everywhere in search of the tiny human but all he saw was people carrying last minute decorations for the party that was going on later today. Jungkook returned to work with a slight pout on his face.

“Knock knock.”

“Hm?” Jungkook looked up and saw one of his co-workers standing at his desk. Hoseok or something like that was his name.

“The party starts in five minutes, you coming?”

“Yeah, give me a second.” Hoseok gave him a nod of the head before going on his way.

The party was in full swing-full swing as in everyone was talking to each other in a corner with a drink in their hand. Music was playing but no one was dancing, and it was a nice song too, something about butterflies. Guess the person likes butterflies or was thinking about them at the time.

Jungkook was about to take a sip of his drink when he heard-

“Jungkookie!” What. The. Fuck.

“What the hell are you doing here, hyung?”

“I did tell you that I was invited to a party didn’t I.”

“You didn’t say it was this one.” The hyung tip the drink to his head and gulped half of it down.

“You didn’t ask.”

Jungkook pinched the bridge of his nose and wondered who the hell could’ve invited him.

“Hyung, who invited you?”

“Oh, It was- oh, there he is. Jimin! Jiminie! Over here!”

Jungkook’s drink almost fell out his hand at the sight before him. There stood Jimin in an all-white suit with his white sleeves that came down to cover half of his tiny hands giving him the cutest sweater paws ever and a black buttoned up shirt underneath; hair styled to fit his soft round face. His plump red lips glossed to perfection.

“Close your mouth kookie, he’s coming.”

But he couldn’t. Jimin looked like he stepped right out of a magazine and was walking right towards him. It was like he was walking in slow motion with that majestic walk of his. Jimin was positively glowing.

“Tae, why are you always shouting when you see me? I wasn’t even that far away.”

Jungkook couldn’t breathe. Jimin’s cologne was too intoxicating. He was too sweet. He wanted to grab him around his waist and shove his face in his neck while-

“Jungkook-ah? You’re staring at me.”

Jungkook blinked his eyes back into focus and looked to see Jimin staring at him in confusion while Taehyung looked really amused.

“Oh-uh sorry. I ju-just  didn’t get a good look at you from the night before that’s all.”

Taehyung tried to stifle his laugh behind his hand as Jungkook flashed him a glare.

“Oh look, I think I see a cute person calling to me over there.”

“Hyun-” “Bye!” Taehyung ran off and left Jungkook standing there a nervous wreck.

“I still don’t know how I don’t know you.” Jungkook swears that Jimin scrunching up his nose in confusion was the cutest thing he’s ever seen.

“I don’t know. I usually just stay at my desk, get lunch, return to my desk then go home.”

“No wonder I don’t know you. You don’t socialize much do you?”

“Other than my crazy hyung over there that’s harassing poor Hoseok, no, I don’t socialize much.”

“Why do you take it a thing to know everyone in the workplace though. Oh wait, a security should know everyone in the company right? To know who comes in and out?”

Jungkook’s smile fell when he saw that Jimin’s face literally had “the fuck are you talking about?” written all over it.

“You’re not a security guard are you?” He watched Jimin’s cheeks swell before he doubled over in laughter.  Jimin was laughing for a good 5 minutes as Jungkook could feel his face heating up. His laugh, sounded like heaven to Jungkook’s ears. He wanted to hear it forever.

“No, I’m not Jungkook. Where did you get that Idea from?”

“It-i-it was Taehyung hyung’s fault!”

“That little…Tae! Do I look like a fucking security guard to you?!” Wasn’t he the one scolding the other for shouting just a little while ago?

“What are you talking about?!  Did you say you were fucking a security guard?! Good! Because so is Jungkook!” What?!

Jimin swung around to look at Jungkook with a surprised face as Jungkook tried but failed to get out an explanation because he was so flustered. So many thoughts ran into Jungkook’s mind, one of which had to do with torturing his hyung for embarrassing him like this.

A lady then came over to them and whispered in Jimin’s ear to which he nodded to before she walked off.

“I have to go do something. Promise me you won’t leave yet?”

…He was pouting.

Jimin was fucking pouting! How is his brain supposed to function?!

Jungkook nodded mutely before watching him walk away and my oh my was that a nice ass.

“Stop staring at his ass pervert.” Taehyung had snuck up behind him and caught in the act.

“Hyung you fucking-“

Tapping on the mike stopped Jungkook from actually saying what he wanted to say to his hyung. Jungkook couldn’t care less for what the lady has to say though. The only reason he was still here was because of Jimin.

“-Give it up for the CEO! Mr. Park!” The fuck.

Jungkook watched as Jimin, the man he was talking to a while ago, walked up to the stage all smiles with a very professional aura. He was the FUCKING CEO!? Jungkook’s mind blanked out as Jimin gave his speech and stepped down.

“You’re the ceo…” Was the first thing Jungkook said when Jimin walked back up to him.

“Yup. Now you know why I want to know everyone in my company.”

“How did I not realize this?”

“Maybe because you have Tae as a friend.”

“Leave me out of your conversations!” When did that hyung wander off again?

Jungkook heart skipped a beat as Jimin slid his hand up into his and held it tightly.

“I’m starting to really like you Jungkook-ah.” Jungkook don’t think his eyes can get any wider than it was already.

“I know you like me too Jungkook. You’ve been staring at me since I came up to you and you’re face gets red every time I talk to you.” Really?! It was?!

Jimin raised a perfectly manicured finger and snap Jungkook’s mouth closed. He swore he stopped breathing when Jimin leaned up to brush his soft lips against his, his scent wafting up into Jungkook’s nose almost making him swoon.

“I know there’s a rule about employees and boss or co-workers dating and all that bullshit but who gives a damn. Would you go out with me Jungkook?” Jimin brushed his lips to his again and Jungkook felt his eyes flutter shut at the spark of pleasure that flew into his brain.

He gently wraps his arms around Jimin’s waist, his drink long gone, before whispering gently against his lips “Yes.” And Jungkook did what he wanted to do all night. He crushed Jimin against his chest and kissed him.

BONUS:

Jungkook was working hard. So hard he forgot that he had lunch to go to but he didn’t care. He needed to get this done by 5.

“Psst.” Jungkook’s head flew up to see who had made that noise but saw no one.

“Okay then.”

“Psssst.” Jungkook’s head flew up again to find, this time, a pair of bright round eyes looking at him from behind the wall.

A chuckle escaped Jungkook as he dropped his pen and leaned back in his chair.

“Don’t you have any work to do Mister CEO?” Jimin stepped around and came to a halt at his desk.

“Yeah, but guess who forgot to eat his lunch again?”  Jimin walked around Jungkook’s desk and dropped himself on his lap.

“What did you bring for me today?” Jungkook wrapped his arms snugly around Jimin’s waist and laid his chin on his shoulder.

“A bowl of Army stew, now eat so I can stop worrying about you potentially fainting on me.”

“Feed me.”  Jungkook opened his mouth but Jimin closed it.

“Baby, you’re not a child.”

“But you ju-”

“Jimin!” Oh no.

Jimin sighed and reluctantly got up from his seat on Jungkook’s lap but before Jimin could leave, he grabbed onto his arm and gave him the best puppy eyes he could manage.

“Let him get him, for once please. For all the suffering he put me through since I’ve known him.”

Jimin just laughed at the pleading look on Jungkook’s face. “You know I can’t let that happen Jungkook-ah. Just let me deal with this and I’ll be back.” Jimin kissed him softly before pulling away his hand to go check if Taehyung was dead. Why his boyfriend decided to give Tae a job here, he will never know.

Jungkook touched his lips that still tingled from the kiss he just shared with his boyfriend. Boyfriend. It felt great to say that now. Not only that, the woman that’s been on him like leach in the beginning, no longer troubled him knowing that he’s taken. Oh the woman’s face was priceless when she found out who he was dating. As for Jimin…well she’s lucky she left in one piece after he told Jimin what she had been up to.

“Jimin run!”

“But I didn’t do anything!”

“Just run with me!” Jungkook watched as his boyfriend and his hyung ran down the hall laughing like two maniacs as Hoseok ran after them.  Hoseok was going to catch Taehyung one of these days and when he does…

Jungkook laughed as he ate his lunch. Yup, it seems he just might start liking his job here after all.
