Work Text:
Telepathy came as easy as words. Especially when the being you're communicating with is also capable of such.
"Brrt, Mistress Fi?"
Usually Fi was the one to start their interactions, calling up the robot called "Scrapper," or as her databanks recognized him (it seemed to prefer masculine pronouns despite having no sex or too much information on gender itself), LD-301S Scrapper.
"Yes? Why have I been called?"
"Can a guy not simply want to hold a conversation with such a charming lady, bzzrt?" came the reply.
If she could have within the sword, Fi might have sighed aloud. Instead, she opted to take a moment before formulating any sort of response to send.
"There is a 93% chance you are trying to flatter me," she finally sent.
The next communication wave came almost immediately after. "Only for such a sweet one."
"I suppose I shall accept your compliment. Thank you, LD-301S Scrapper."
"Bzzrat, you can just call me Scrapper, Mistress Fi."
"Then thank you, Scrapper."
The sword spirit was certain that if they were currently face-to-face that the robot would likely be doing some sort of happy dance. Or trying to act aloof, even if his circuts were clearly sparking.
It was a funny thought.
He sent out another message, seemingly just trying to keep the conversation going for as long as possible.
"How have you been, bzzt?"
"I am well. Yourself?"
"Good, brrzt, especially since I'm talking with you now Mistress Fi."
"If I am to simple call you Scrapper rather than your designation, you do not need to call me by the title of 'mistress.' Fi will work."
"Nonono, one as beautiful as you deserves to be indulged in a title."
Fi found it rather quaint. She had to admit, LD-30- no, just Scrapper- was growing on her. Though she wouldn't show it. Emotions weren't really something she thought needed to be on her sleeve.
Her purpose was not to engage in romance.
"I believe I should go now, Scrapper," Fi transferred to him.
He sent a clearly sad bzzt, though quickly said, "Goodbye Mistress Fi. I'll be here whenever you call, brrzt."
And then Fi ended their connection.
