Let there be Light

Summary:

Just as they stop the weapon from destroying half the pride ring and killing them all, Charlie, Vaggie, Alastor, Angel Dust, Husk, and Cherri Bomb all wake up in a strange lounge, where they find out they either watch someone's life, or stay stuck there forever! Easy choice, right?

... Right?

Chapter Text

Charlie groaned, rolling onto her side as she blinked her eyes open. What happened? The princess shot up, red eyes panicked as she looked around “Vaggie! Emily! Guys!?”

A groan to her left made Charlie turn, and she breathed a sigh of relief as Vaggie groggily sat up. The fallen Angel held her head, blinking the spots out of her vision. “Charlie? Where… are we? What happened? Are you okay!?”

Vaggie moved closer to her girlfriend, checking her over for injury as Charlie tried to reassure her “I’m okay, I swear! I just… Can’t remember what happened. I don’t know where we are.”

The rest of the Hazbin Hotel crew was sprawled out around them, easing the worry in Charlie’s chest. Thinking hard, the Princess did her best to remember what happened before this. “We were… all combining our magic together to stop the weapon from killing us all and then… It exploded, it was super bright and then… then… I guess we were here?”

Well this is quite the predicament, hm?” Alastor’s radio filtered voice spoke up, startling Charlie and Vaggie both as they looked next to them at the deer sinner. Charlie smiled brightly “Alastor! Are you okay? Your arm was all messed up-”

I am quite alright, My dear Charlie! Why I feel better than ever!” Which did seem to be true, seeing as how the injuries Alastor knew he had seemed to just be gone. Sinner regeneration was never that fast, so unless he had been unconscious for weeks, this was the work of something else.

More groans and curses sounded out as everyone else woke up. Angel Dust was sprawled out on a black couch, a glass of water on the table next to it that seemed to be meant for the Spider Sinner. Husk stood up from his spot on the floor, shambling over to his friend and looking around at the room they were all in.

The room was large, looking like some sort of personal lounge for someone with more money than any one person could ever need. Blacks, Blues, and Purples littered the space, with large silver card suits decorating the walls, one on each side. It vaguely reminded Husk of a Casino lounge.

“Yo, where the actual fuck are we?” Cherri Bomb asked, shoulders tense. Before anyone could reply to her, a chuckle sounded out from above them.

Looking up, everyone met the dual coloured eyes of a two tailed Feline demon. At least, Charlie was pretty sure she was a Demon. She looked like one. A cheshire grin was spread wide on the Demoness’s face, tails swaying lazily behind her as she lounged on the beam. “I’m so glad to see you’re all awake~!”

She rolled off the beam, Startling Charlie who had reflexively reached out to catch her. It was unneeded of course, as the stranger landed in a crouch position in front of them. She stood, stretching and cracking her neck. “Welcome to The Viewing plane.”

“Why are we here? Who are you?” Vaggie moved in front of Charlie, attempting to shield her from possible harm. The feline just laughed. “Cute~! If I had wanted to hurt any of you, I would have done it while you were unconscious. You lot were out for awhile.”

The demon moved closer to them, and Charlie could see that she looked remarkably similar to a Human. Just with added appendages and Demonic eyes. The women gave them a theatrical bow. “I am Lumie, I was assigned to be your guide during your stay. There will be no violence within this space, and all other worldly powers are disabled for guests~”

Static sounded out from Alastor, whose ears went back in agitation as he tried and failed to activate any of his abilities. The now named Lumie grinned wider, showing off her fangs. “You all were brought here because My boss has decided that intervening in your world is important for one reason or another. Don’t bother asking why, because I don’t know and even if I did I wouldn’t tell you.”

She stood up from her bow, walking around the group as she spoke and not giving them a moment's respite. “This place is outside of the time stream, and so time doesn’t really move outside this space. You will not age, hunger, or thirst while you are here, nor will you require sleep. Though such amenities can be provided if needed. Sleeping does so help with processing things.”

She stopped once on the other side of the room, in front of an ornate door with her hands crossed behind her back. “Any questions?”

“What the actual fuck?” Cherri blurted out, and Charlie couldn’t help but agree. That explanation just caused more questions. Alastor’s head tilted sharply, Charlie able to hear the bone snapping as he did. “If this place is called The Viewing Plane, I can only assume we are here to see something?

“Correct, Alastor~” Oh great, the strange Demon knew their names. Lovely. “You were brought here to watch someone integral to your world, their past and present. No, we do not care about the invasion of privacy, and normally I'd say lodge a complaint with the Manager, but I am the manager. So go fuck yourselves~”

Their supposed guide snapped her fingers and the door opened, though it was too dark for anyone to make out what was on the other side. “When ready, just enter this room. Once all participants are inside the viewing session will begin. You will not be able to leave this place until you have viewed everything that’s been prepared for you, so don’t even think about loitering out here for centuries hoping you’ll be set free~”

There was a snap, and suddenly where Lumie had stood was now a black and silver ace of spades. That answered absolutely nothing, and just left Charlie feeling more confused and unsure. What exactly was the purpose of all this?

Angel stood up from the couch, stretching before beginning to make his way over to the door. Husk grabbed his arm, “The fuck do you think you’re doing? Just going in there huh? We don’t know what's in there!”

“Well I for one, would like to get out of this place as fast as possible. Why not just do what they want? She didn’t seem to mean any harm, and clearly we aren’t fighting our way out of here. She made us all limp with that anti-ability thing.” Angel shrugged, once more walking toward the door. Husk groaned, running a hand down his face before following the Spider.

While the analogy is most crude, our effeminate friend is correct! It seems it would be best to play along for now!” Alastor sounded far too happy considering the situation. Though this did seem to be the type of thing he would find amusing, Vaggie conceded. She took Charlie’s hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze before they both stood up.

“Alright, I guess we just… play along then. Who knows, maybe this will be fun!” Charlie’s optimism was infectious, making everyone smile. Well aside from Alastor, who was already Smiling creepily by the door.

“Hey wait… Where are Nifty and Baxtor?” Cherri spoke, making everyone look around once more. Charlie hummed “Huh, that’s weird. Everyone else is here. Maybe they just… weren’t included for some reason?”

“Maybe there’s a height requirement for this place!” Angel joked, snickering a bit. There were a few fond eye rolls, before everyone finally filed into the dark room.

No matter how far in they walked, there didn’t seem to be any light. Charlie squeezed Vaggie’s hand nervously, the eerie silence setting them all on edge. The door closed behind them, removing what little light was there and shrouding them in complete blackness.

Is something supposed to happen, or is this a very odd attempt at torture?” As if to prove Alastor wrong, A voice began to sound out around them. One that was very familiar to Charlie.

“Is that… Sera’s voice?”

“There once was a mighty being. They had no form, for they had no need of it. They were everything and nothing all at once. The beginning and the End. Despite this, they were ever curious. They began to explore the vast nothingness around them, searching and hoping to find another entity like them. They searched far and wide, with no luck. They were alone.”

“Oh how sad…!” Being lonely was not a good feeling. Charlie’s heart felt for this being that Sera was speaking of.

“They did not like being so alone. They longed for companionship. So, they began to experiment. Their powers were vast and varied, able to seemingly create whatever they so desired. They started with non-living things. Nebulous balls of Gas that shone bright, brighter than anything else. Stars, they called them. They made many, hundreds upon thousands of them, to light up everywhere they had explored. With a firm knowledge and grasp of their abilities, they decided it was time to move forward. They had many grandiose ideas, and yet no one to share it with. So, their next task would be to change that. To create Life.”

Stars blinked to life around the group, startling some as they appeared to be standing on nothing. It was a breathtaking sight. Despite the beauty, a feeling of loneliness was surrounding them. So deep and aching.

“They crafted the first nest to keep the beings they wished to make safe, a home for them to thrive in. It was small at first, but it grew quickly into a wondrous and bright plane. That task done, they crafted 7 beings out of stardust and imbued them with their power.”

7 beings formed around the group, large wings and numerous closed eyes and brightly glowing Halo’s. Angels. The first Angels.

“They named these beings Angels, before bestowing upon them individual names. Jophiel, Muriel, Raguel, Remiel, Phanuel, Ophiel and-”

“You! Seraphiel!” An excited, youthful voice cut in. The Darkness vanished, leaving everyone staring at the Head Seraphim Sera. She sat serenely on a cloud, and in front of her two young Angels sat. One has large black wings with beautiful deep blue plumage, looking similar to that of a nightsky. Blonde hair sat atop porcelain white skin, with two blue cheek dots adorning their face. Next to them was the one who had cut in, bouncing on their cloud excitedly. They were practically the mirror image of the first fledgling, with White wings and Pink plumage, with pink cheek dots adorning their face.

Sera chuckled, reaching out and patting the excited Fledglings head. “That’s right. Good job, Luciel.”

They did not hear the rest of what was said, too busy staring at the preening baby angel in front of them, who could only be-

“DAD!?”
