Work Text:

€220.

For foundation.

You nearly fainted when you looked up the price, only to be thankful that Trish offered it to you as a gift. However, rather than using it for simple beauty purposes, you were doing so for the sake of your work. While you readied yourself to head out for the day, you carefully applied the La Prairie foundation on your neck to cover the hickeys and bites currently on your skin.

The reason why you even had marks on your neck in the first place was also part of your job.

Or rather, jobs.

To the gang lead by Capo Giovanna, you were a new addition to their group with the burning desire to help them overthrow Passione's leader. To said leader, Diavolo, and his right-hand man Doppio, you were a faithful subordinate who proved to be trustworthy--enough that they directed you to keep tabs on the Giovanna's group to ensure that they wouldn't rebel like La Squadra di Esecuzione. However, to Jotaro of the Speedwagon Foundation, you were a spy who devoted the last two years to infiltrating Passione to properly find a means to retrieve Diavolo's bow and arrow.

While it was clear that Giovanna and the rest of the gang were earnest in taking down Diavolo to change Passione for the better, Jotaro wanted to be absolutely sure that they could be trusted, to be undeniably genuine in their resolve that the Speedwagon Foundation would want to associate and assist them in any way possible.

After what happened to Polnareff and his standoff against Diavolo, it was obvious that a direct attack wasn't the best option, but rather a slow and underhanded method, one that would harm the lowest number of people involved. Besides, it would be unwise to show any sign of rebellion against Passione's Don, who would allow for merciless punishment before going into hiding once more.

The fact that the only things you knew about Diavolo were his name and that Trish was his daughter was proof of how protective he was of his identity. You found it miraculous that, despite her father's ruthless defense of his face, she was spared.

Other than that however, all of your interactions with the Don were done through Doppio, who played messenger between the two of you. At the very least, this allowed you to become closer with the easily flustered but reliable righthand man.

In turn, you found yourself just as well-acquainted with the Giovanna's group.

Perhaps more than your job description implied, but that could be detailed at another time.

Though, masquerading yourself with so many guises proved to be tiresome. To be undercover for both the Speedwagon Foundation and Passione's boss during your infiltration to Giovanna's gang earned you the title of Ocelot. You weren't quite sure why you were given such a codename, but you didn't question it. Though, from the seemingly off-handed way Jotaro explained, it was because you were essentially a triple agent--whatever that meant.

You still had to give your monthly report to Jotaro, but with the seemingly endless missions given by Doppio and the progress that Giovanna, Buccellati, and their group have made to overthrow Diavolo recently, you just didn't have the time. Since you were never late with communicating your status and any relevant updates, you didn't want to give the wrong impression--whether that something happened, or you decided to break off your affiliation to the Speedwagon Foundation in favor of Passione.

In fact, you couldn't make a call today, as you were instructed by Diavolo to visit the Naples jail in which La Squadra was currently imprisoned. While it was some miracle that their rebellion did not result in fatal punishment, they were now ostracized even further by Passione. However, in some odd act of mercy, the gang was given the chance to return to the organization if they were able to successfully carry out special missions while they served out their sentence.

How that would be possible, you weren't sure. You only knew that you were ordered to deliver their next assignment.

Though, considering the conflict that Giovanna and Buccellati's gang had with La Squadra--at a time that took place right before you began your infiltration--you were to do this mission on your own.

You paused to look at yourself in the mirror, sighing as even with three layers of the expensive foundation, the marks on your neck were still notable. It would give the wrong impression if you were to show up with hickeys all over your neck--which in turn could lead to some 'interesting' confrontation between you and La Squadra di Esecuzione.

With a groan, you considered to look for a scarf to wear, even if Naples was at its hottest during this time of year. You let out a huff as you recalled why these marks ended up on your skin in the first place.

From the number of times he had bitten all over your neck last night, you were sure that Capo Giovanna was a vampire.

Oh, the things you had to do to fulfill your role as spy.
