Chapter Text
This morning was like any other. Misaki woke up in his bed. Beside him was a familiar figure enveloping him. The way the older man embraced him was too intimate. He felt a warm tingly feeling everywhere their bodies touched. If it were the old Misaki he would have thought it to be too suffocating. However, the passing years had softened him enough for him to feel comfortable with this soft affection.
In the comforting warmth of the morning, Misaki had a strange urge to caress his lover, to show this sleeping man how much he adored him even if he wouldn't outright say anything. He reached out to his lover gently caressing his face. He traced his lover's contours, as if carving the older man’s features into memory. The delicate skin was a stark contrast to his demanding, domineering presence he exuded while awake. Misaki’s eyes lingered on his lover’s lips, unconsciously leaning towards them. His face was so close to Usami’s, he could feel the quiet breaths brushing against his own face.
“Good morning, Misaki,” Usami whispered, startling Misaki’s hand away the instant he spoke.
“Why did you stop? You seemed to enjoy touching my vulnerable body while I was asleep,” Usami lifted his head. An amused glint started to form, his eyes scanning Misaki's figure like a predator.
“What? Don't lump me in with you! Stupid Usagi-san!” Misaki glared at Usagi-san.
Misaki turned away from his boyfriend to start getting ready for the day, but like a snake finding its meal, Usami coiled his arms around him again, refusing to let him go.
“Wah! Usagi-san let me go. I have to get ready for school! If you don't let me go! I won't have enough time to get breakfast done before leaving,” Misaki protested as he pried himself from the possessive man. Flailing around trying to get out.
The older man eventually let Misaki go, but not before leaving a trail of small kisses from his lover’s chin to his neck. His arms lingering where they had been now just empty without his cute boyfriend in them. The younger brunette rushed out of their shared bedroom, stomping away. He grasped his neck as if rubbing the kiss marks away.
“Stupid Usagi-san. He lacks restraint,” Misaki muttered under his breath, while he got ready for the day.
Misaki went down stairs, put on his apron and started preparing breakfast. He started by preparing their main dish and ending with making some eggrolls. When he finished, he waited for Usagi-san. He always came downstairs when the clock hit exactly 8am. He set the table, and they sat directly in front of each other. A normal habit honed from years of living together.
“Misaki, how is your final year of college going, do you have any plans?” Usami inquired about his boyfriend’s life, while he subtly intertwined their legs together under the table. A quiet and intimate gesture.
“It’s going fine, after interning at the publishing company I think I want to work there”
Their conversation naturally ceases as they finish their breakfast, a quiet comfort enveloping them. Misaki got up to clean the table. Once he finished cleaning the dishes he started heading towards the door.
“Wait, let me drive you,” The older man demands, getting up to find his keys. The thought of rejection not even passing his mind as he was so assured that Misaki would comply.
Misaki, being used to the interaction, complied with little resistance. Misaki waited for him by the door looking at his reflection to make time.
