Chapter Text
Peter shouldn’t have come. That much was obvious from the moment he stepped into the Tower’s meeting room.
Everyone of them was there: Tony, Bucky, Clint, Natasha, Bruce, Sam, Wanda, Vision, and every vigilante New York has ever seen.
Peter didn't even know why he came. The Avengers called an Meeting, and asked every Vigilante from New York to be there.
He didn't want to come, but he also didn't want to be the only one that didn't come. Of course Matt was another reason. He told Peter that „If he would have to listen to their shit, Peter has to."
So here he was sitting in one of the meeting-rooms in the Avengers towers. Matt sat beside him. The two of them talked quietly, waiting for Steve to arrive.
"I swear if you ever try to convince me to go to one of these meetings again DD, I will throw a car at you. And we both know that I will "
Peter glanced at Matt, even if he couldn't see it. „I still don't know why you hate the Avengers that much..." Matt begun. Ugh please not this type of conversation again.
„Like I told you before, I don't hate them.“ Peter looked at his Hands. He hated having this kind of conversation with Matt. If Matt wasn't blind he would give Peter the 'if you think so kid' look.
Just ignore him. Just ignore him. Trie to ignore him and everybody else in this fucked-up situation. Just act Natural.
Peter forced himself to sit up straight in his chair. He than looked around the room, trying to identify the other vigilantes. His eyes quickly passed everyone. He looked then at the group of Adults, standing in the corner of the room, quietly laughing at something.
Peter just tried to not stare to much at the Avengers. They don't remember you. You're a stranger. A nobody.....remember that.
Just as Peter was about to tell Matt that he would go home now, Steve came into the room. „Finally Cap, just where were you?" Tony asked.
„I was researching something, nothing Important." He answered.
„Seems Important enough to me if you just forget the meeting" Tony muttered under his breath. It seems that besides Him and Matt nobody had heard it.
So they are still the same, still teasing, still friends, that's good „So that we are all now here,we wanted to discuss something" yeah no shit „It's about the fight last Thursday...."
Peter zoomed out. He didn't want to hear any of this, didn't want to be here, curse you Matt, Peter stoped listening to what Steve said. Instead, he thought about MJ, May, and Ned.
May was dead. MJ didn't remember him. Ned, well he also didn't remember Peter. For Peter it was Hell. Everybody he cared about was dead or didn't remember him.
And the best Part, Peter lived alone. In a fucked up little apartment, with no food and just sometimes warm water. He didn't even remember when he had last eaten. And with his Fucking fast Metabolism he needs to eat much.
At least he has Matt now, after said Person had found him one Patrol night the two of them Kind-of became friends. Matt had shown Peter his Identity three Months ago and of course Peter had told Matt his.
Sometimes after Patrol he just stays with Matt. They get Takeout and Just talk or something. In the evening he swings back to his shitty apartment.
Steve cleared his throat, tapping the stack of papers in his hands. “All right. Before we start, I want to thank everyone who showed up today. We’re trying to get better coordination between New York teams — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hell’s Kitchen, Queens—”
Queens
He didn't even finish his scentens. Peter's Body reacted befor his brain even knew what was happening. It was his name after all.
Queens with me
Queens concentrate
Good Job Queens
Peter Shot Up from where he sat. "Yes", the room fell silent. Matt looked at Peter as if he wanted to say. What are you doing? Are you crazy, sit down kid!
Just then Peter's Brain caught up on what he was doing. "Ah...Oh..S-Sorry" he quickly mumbled and sat back down.
Why must his Body even React. He knew better that that. He should just Forget the name already.........but it was Hard. 'Cause Peter knew..... He hoped that one day his Friends- His Family will remember him.
Still everyone stared at him,but then Steve continued. " So as I was saying we need to coordinate better......"
Peter again stoped paying attention. He tried to relax, but he could still feel the looks of some of the Avengers. Some of his old team, some of his old friends.
"Hey kid... everything fine? Or should we leave?" Matt mumbled,he knew that Peter's enhanced hearing would pick it up. They often talked like this when other people were around. So quiet that only they could hear it.
"No everything's fine,just....had a bad reaction" Peter sight. The answers was agin so quiet only Matt could hear it.
As an answer Matt nodded once and Peter knew that he would want to talk about this later. Mentally Peter prepared for that conversation,he knew that Matt would ask till he knows every little detail.
Lying was impossible, Peter knew that. Not only because Peter was a bad liar. Rather cause Matt was practically a walking Lie-detector.
It was annoying.
Half an Hour later the Meeting was over.Peter and Matt wanted till most of the other people were out of the room.
Just then they stood up, making their way till the exit. But of course something or more precisely someone had to happen.
"So who are you again?" Steve asked, standing before them as if he would want to prevent them from going home. Matt took a step forward, standing now beside Peter. "I'm Matthew Murdock" he told Steve. uff Full name, seems like Matt Really Doesn't like Steve.
"And who's this? If I may ask." Steve now looked directly at Peter. Peter panicked so he said the first thing that came to his mind."My name is Peter. Peter Parker."
Shit.Shit.Shit. Don't remember me. Please Don't remember me."Well nice to meet you Peter, have we met before? You seem...... Familiar." Steve wanted to know.
I'm Fucked
"No we haven't, I would remember." Peter tried to sound calm. But he knew that he probably sounded like someone that got caught with one Hand in the cookie Jar by his mom.
Still Steve seemed to accept his answers " well okay, it was nice having you here. Maybe we will meet again sometime." God please no.
Now Peter just wanted to go. So he mumbled a quick good bye. And then he and Matt left the Tower. Finally. "So...." Matt began " Do you want to tell me something?"
Peter didn't know what to say. So he just shrugged and answered. "Not much to tell you about DD".
Matt of course knew that there was Plenty to talk about. But he also knows how Peter sounds if he doesn't want to tell somebody something. So they just walked in quiet peace together, away from the tower.
"Tony the Kid"
"which kid, Steve?"
"The one that clung onto Matthew Murdock"
"Yes, what about him?"
"He seems so familiar."
"What do you mean?"
At this moment Natasha and Bucky entered the conversation. "What are you guys talking about?" Natasha asked.
"The kid that was here with Matthew Murdock." Steve answered.
"Yes what's with him?" Natasha wanted to know. Of course she knew who he talked about. The kid stood up mid conversation and seemed too young to be at a place like this. At least for an occasion like this.
"He seems weirdly familiar to me." Steve repeated. That just got him an 'are you crazy or something look' from Tony.
"Why?" Natasha pressed, she'd gotten curious about the kid.
"I can't really explain it. It just feels like I know him. "
"Just ignore it. You know a lot of people, cap" Tony suggested.
"Yeah maybe I will" Steve said.
But he knew that he wouldn't. That Kid, was somebody Steve knew. And not just from looking at him. He really knew him, he just couldn't explain why.
