Chapter Text
After the busy day of normal work and deliveries, I find myself walking back to my abode glancing at the darkening sky. Not just from the sunset but from the dark clouds rolling in as the wind picks up to blow most small things for now away.
On my arrival home I spotted the letter from earlier about Guy wanting to show up or ‘stop by’ for a while. A breath escaped as I opened a window to look at the sky again. The wind started to bluster with distance thundering in the afar. In my moment of thought a sudden pull back from the window and a sudden tight hug disrupted me. “Seriously?” I questioned, leaning my head back to look up at the individual holding me hostage.
“Yes, it’s been boring the past recent days.” He explained. As his scarlet eyes stared into mine.
“Well first you-“ I was cut off by a sharp light backed by close thundering, bringing my attention to the window. “Can you let go now?” I say again uninterrupted. Surprisingly he does. Allowing us to both look out the window. Outside had become drenched in rain glistening from the lighting and still lit windows from the houses and city streets. Leaves attempted to blow in but the window was closed before any managed to do so. “Well what about that?” Guy started still staring at the contents outside.
“A thunderstorm rolled in” saying aloud the obvious. To which I receive a look of ‘Oh really’. “Anyways, what are you here for other than just pure entertainment?” I asked, walking to the middle of my room and summoning a white candle. As I’m doing this he replies, “Other than entertainment it would be to see my wife”
“I have said this beforehand, I am not your wife!” I exclaimed. Nearly tipping over the candle in front of me. He walked over to join me by the candle, he mumbled something before questioning, “What is the candle for exactly?”
“Hm, nothing really, just what I like to do when there are such storms. You know the sharp light of the sky mixed with the comfort of an orange candlelight”
“Hmm, I‘ll give it to you for being an oddity”
“If anything you’re an oddity, giving a letter two hours before you show up?!” Retorting playfully.
“Yeah, yeah. Not like you didn’t half cause an uproar in the world when you started living here” he retorting back, with the normal playful banter.
“Says the one that lives in isolation because he can’t stand anyone not worth paying attention to” I retorted sarcastically.
“What's wrong with that? Some are rats that don’t know their place” he replies.
The banter continued for some time and the storm just got worse. At this moment the candle had started to falter in its light as it died in the puddle of wax it became from the past years of use. “Ah, I need a new candle,” the statement cutting off the banter between us.
“Now that this is over,” he stands and walks over, “I’m guessing you wouldn’t mind cuddling, or more” Now looming overhead, the lighting never helps in a situation where you’re the one looking up at someone, revealing their shadowy figure and slightly highlighting their features. Before I got a word out, I was picked up in his arms loosely gripping me and my failed attempts to escape. Just to be laid down in my bed with him over top. Placing a finger on my face and running down my cheek while saying, “Why can’t you be my wife when I get to see like this, hmm?” Giving a questioned hum.
Doing my best to ignore my flustered feelings I answered, “I’m a guy. Male not female”
“You’re genderless. But husband doesn’t ring as much as wife” he answered plainly with a hint of sarcasm.
Rolling my eyes knowing this isn’t going anywhere I change the subject, “how about you stop pinning me down and try to reach some weird agreement to this point?” I offered
“How about I get a kiss first?” He offered
“What if that’s reserved for when you listen to me?” Responding fully knowing nothing is looking to be in my favor. His response, removing his finger from rubbing my face to lifting my chin and a light press of his lips to mine. Mischievously he smiles and with my free hand I face palm him, “Enough already” I state and thunder rumbles through the clouds.
Removing my hand, “if your scared, no one’s going to hear you”
The firmness that I responded with had been betrayed by my flustered voice,“I in fact am not nervous. I wouldn’t mind the company you’ve offered but this nonsense no”
With a frown he says being dramatic,“The only nonsense I’m sensing is your unwillingness to be an actual mate”
“Stop being whiny, you know fully well I’ve let you tango. Now move or you're off the bed.” matching his dramatic mess with sarcasm.
“The one you’re being pinned to?” He taunted.
“I will kick you off, I’ve done it once I can do it again” Answering with confidence. He gives a slight hum of amusement, tightening his grip around my hand. “Is that so?”
“What?” Saying, trying to understand the sudden shift of mood. “Anyway, can I have my hand back?” I began. Lighting lights up the place once more, as he places my hand above my head. Fixing his position somewhat. Feeling more weight on the hand above my head as he holds my chin once more.
I begin my escape by placing my free hand on the side of his face and forcing it upwards. Guy, now annoyed, moves back attempting to keep me under him to which I flee to one side of the room. He doesn’t answer. He’s staring or thinking, honestly this is when I need to figure out some counter to what he might do, after all he’s not truly attempting anything.
Absolute silence between the both of us just waiting for the other to break contact and move. There was no real tension of anything, just anticipation of what the other’s action may become. Only tuning into the lighting and thundering in the cloudscape. The pettiness fight has begun between two types of affection. I change to slime to dart farther across the room, changing back in a ready stance, looking at him. At first glance he seems to be acting slow but it’s all for a game of cat and mouse that’s developed overtime, with me on the losing end. “Now, now don’t be so cautious” he says with enthusiasm, now standing rather relaxed.
“How about we don’t break my house?“ I replied
“Then you better be careful and allow yourself to be caught. So I can snuggle you, maybe just kidnap you to” Giving a shrug at all the options he can choose from.
“I’d rather listen to thunder than snowfall right now.” Answering back.
