They finally debuted.
All of them were very happy that they debuted, but also sad that the others couldn’t continue their journey with them. None of them could react properly and couldn’t believe it was all true. They needed time to process everything they went through. All of them called their parents, and some of them went to meet them after the program, ending up in tears as they navigated a mix of bittersweet emotions.
All the members of TXT messaged Heeseung and sent him an audio message expressing their pride that Heeseung, who had trained with them, had debuted. He put his headphones on and heard them all. He was very grateful to have listened to his friends, who supported him throughout his journey and helped him make his debut. He was happy reading all the congratulatory messages he got from everyone. Everyone, including him, was exhausted and eventually fell asleep after some time.
They reached their dorm, and everyone woke up slowly. They all went in excited, roaming all around the house. It had a kitchen, a big living room, a makeup room and a bedroom with bunk beds. They had some food, watched an episode of Iland and slept after taking a shower.
Now, even though they all knew they were going to live together, they didn't know how to be with each other yet. All of them needed time to process that they are going to be together for a long time in their lives. They decided to give it a try and talk more with each other to start understanding each other.
They then revealed their fandom name Engene. The next task was the leader of Enhypen. Who was going to be the leader was the main question amongst all of them.
The staff called and told them that either Heeseung or Jungwon were capable of being the leader of Enhypen. Heeseung wasn't sure if he was ready to be the leader after everything he went through in Iland. He was already the centre and main vocalist, since he had potential for high notes with his wide vocal range.
He fell into a dilemma his head was a huge mess. He didn't know what to do. He called his hyung and asked, "Heedo hyung, are you free?". He heard a reply after a few seconds, "No, not right now. I have some work to do, but I can call you after some time if you want to talk". Heeseung was disappointed but told, "It's fine, I am going to go to our favourite spot sometime anyway, so come there after you are done with your work and are free.”
"Fine, I'll be there after I am done with my work".
He went to their favourite place, which was the lawn at their old house, which was at the outskirts of the city. He went into the house and sat on the lawn during sundown with sunrays falling mildly between the trees. He could feel the fresh air hitting his face, hear the sound of the waterfall flowing down from the cliff, and hear the birds chirping. Heeseung opened his diary and started writing whatever he felt while looking at that beautiful sight.
Jay, Jake and Sunghoon went outside to have lunch and increase their bonding, as Niki and Sunoo still had to go to school and were trying to catch up with their school work. Heeseung informed that he would go and meet his brother and would stay there for the night. He also added that he informed the managers that he was going to stay for the night. Jungwon initially thought of hanging out with Heeseung after the meeting, but they were mentally drained and filled with so many thoughts that they couldn't express them.
They both weren't ready to talk and needed time. Jungwon wasn't ready to go to the dorm and meet the members yet, so he ended up taking a stroll in the park near their dorm and sat there. He had a lot of doubts about whether he was capable of being the leader, especially because he was the second youngest in the team and was only 16 years old. His heart ached with concerns and insecurities about what their fans would think and how everyone in the industry whom they were meant to work with in the future would think about a group whose leader is the second youngest. He also wasn't sure if he had it in him to be the leader and manage the group. First, he wasn't even sure how to present this matter in front of the members to decide. He also thought that Heeseung would be a better leader as he was a more experienced trainee, and many groups just have the eldest as the leader. He sat there lost in thought.
Meanwhile, Heeseung went inside the house from the lawn and saw how messy it was. There were cans and wrappers which were lying everywhere, and he remembered that none of them had visited the house after their last party, which was before Iland. He slowly started cleaning the trash and making the house look more presentable. Later, he cooked some ramen and ordered some side dishes to have with it, which he arranged on the terrace, which was their secret spot he mentioned to his brother earlier. He added some lights and candles he could find because the lights on the terrace stopped working, and candles were perfect for the nice cold breeze on the terrace and matched the vibe for the night.
After that, he spoke on the phone with someone and asked, "Hey, will you come to our secret spot if you are free?" A pause. "Heedo hyung is also coming", he added.
A reply came, "Yeah, sure, I’m free for the rest of the day anyway".
Feeling pleased, he then put down chairs and set the plates for three people.
