look over the red sea and anba stares u down

Summary:

He did not know what he was feeling. As he was thrown into the once-white wall, the thing cried neon green tears, streaming onto the ground.
“You little shit! Why did Elsa have to leave this thing in my home?!”
His legs, his arms, everywhere hurt. But no matter how much pain he was in he couldn’t cry out. Having no mouth or voice to make noise from, he just had to take hit after hit.

However, this time the woman, Anha, had brought out a shining, glinting blade. It seemed all the more menacing in the moonlight where it reflected off the silver of the knife.

Work Text:

He did not know what he was feeling. As he was thrown into the once-white wall, the thing cried neon green tears, streaming onto the ground.
“You little shit! Why did Elsa have to leave this thing in my home?!”
His legs, his arms, everywhere hurt. But no matter how much pain he was in he couldn’t cry out. Having no mouth or voice to make noise from, he just had to take hit after hit.

However, this time the woman, Anha, had brought out a shining, glinting blade. It seemed all the more menacing in the moonlight where it reflected off the silver of the knife.

A crash, a boom, a gunshot.

It all happened in a blur. Thing’s dark black eyes watched as Anha was grabbed and constrained, a brunette young woman with her pale hands slapped over her mouth. Most likely the one who called the officials. Voices all around him, murmuring things of, “What is that?” “Why does the Miss have that?” and “Why does it breathe like that?” Panic settled in when firm hands grabbed him by the scruff and took him from where he was stuck standing. Danger was near. This was the same as when Anha grabbed him.

He wiggled, and he squirmed, trying to remove himself from the hold of evil. The bad, bad hold of evil, where they would beat him until his brown blood painted the walls. Yet to no avail. The grip was firm, and sturdy, there was no way the thing could get himself out of this predicament now. Bracing himself for impact, he curled into himself, shakily inhaled, and squeezed his beady eyes shut.

But the hit never came.

Instead, he was gently put down, the gentle looking lady with her very gentle voice and her gentle hands spoke with gentleness and dignity, like a noblewoman. “The poor thing. It looks traumatised.” Her gentle hands shook with shame, “I thought Elsa knew better than to pass him to Anha. Isn’t she known for having severe superiority and nationalism issues?”

“...What?” The man dressed in uniform that Anha often came back with had a dramatic reaction to this news, “That’s my superior we’re talking about. She works over me…”

Another man dressed in the same navy uniform spoke with the same amount of surprise, “...should we take her back for interrogation? I don’t even know what this thing is?? Is it an animal? Is this animal abuse or attempted murder?”

“I don’t know.”

Thing was left alone in a small room. He shakily inhaled, and exhaled. This was exhausting. He had no idea what was going on, except for the fact that Anha was taken away.

Now this may have seemed weird to the outsider’s eye, but he was lost and confused without Anha. She was a constant in his life, just not quite in the right way. How she would come back daily at the same time of day, and beat him until he couldn’t stand back up. She would place a small corn kernel on a paper towel for him to inhale as food and leave him for another day.

A quick knock on the door brought Thing back to his senses. “Hello?” The familiar soft voice from the gentle brunette which he had now learned her name was Anba, came from the other side of the door. Her soft flowy locks peeked in as the door slowly creaked open, “Hey, we’re going to take you outside now.”

Being carried by Anba was a new experience. She was soft, she was gentle, and most importantly, she was cuddly. All Thing wanted to do was just snuggle up into her hold and never let go, and her fluffy coat was just a cherry on top. Everything about this was amazing.

She sat him down onto a small cat bed, which was placed upon a wooden chair, another chair placed right in front of the other, which Anba sat herself down on.

“What is this, therapy?” a voice snorted from afar.

“Shut up, Jonathy.” He had never heard Anba’s voice with such a sharp tone to it. She turned, the wind turning her hair so it perfectly framed her already perfect face as the background turned a rose tint while petals fell in the frame. He heard the recognisable ‘sha la la la la la la~’ in the background and incredulously stared his eyes at her. What just happened?

“So, dear. I’d like to let you know something.” She smiles sweetly, it almost seems fake to be so radiant. “Though it would be useless if you don’t understand me. Could you give me a sign that you understand me, honey?”

Thing stood, jumping on the spot, the same way he moves. Why was his movement so limited? That is unknown. “Alright, thank you!” Anba clapped her hands together, and excitedly beamed, a complete opposite of the news she was about to deliver to him. “We’re jailing your guardian now for animal abuse. Although we do not know quite what you are, you are obviously not a human.”

“As well as that, we will not be reinhabiting you due to you being neither a child nor an animal in need of help. I legally cannot keep you without registering you to the government with your breed and gender, however I know neither.”

And so, he was left on the streets behind a building which stunk of smoke and alcohol.

This wasn’t a reliving of a nightmare. He had endured worse before. But the horrible, drastic contrast from Anba’s warmth and comfort was so huge, he couldn’t help but compare the cold of the streets to the fleeting kindness that was granted to Thing.

A light of hope, that brought Thing to believe that maybe, this world wasn’t so bad after all. She brought warmth and light to his world shrouded with darkness.
