Chapter Text
An empty house that sat on a hill. Old and decrypted something that should have rotted away long ago, but something or someone refuses to let it go to let it rest. From the board up window so the torn out rotten carpet. The local kids had stories, all the ones a kids could make, from the ghost story of a murderer who haunts his home to a zombie. to older residents of hurricane knew the boy who grew up on the hill. who can down that hill hunched over and unnaturally purple in the face. the boy or so the man had always troubles with a father like that and both were tragic of his siblings even if one was his fault. so it wasn't very hard to believe that the man would have gone the path of drugs, the father had a taste of liquor so it's not far to believe that the son has a taste for something harder.
Michael wished it was drugs that would be something fun. there was nothing fun about dragging your rotting corpse around, it was dead weight (literally),gross and would pull off in chunks, he couldn't sit in one place for to long or he would start melting into the whatever he decided to sit on, he couldn't go outside like at all since he looked like a mummy with how many bang-eds he's been going there just to hold on to what's left of his body. the only thing that let him outside was the same disk that he had found in the circus baby lab torture basement workshop place thing.. whatever it was. anyway the illusion disks help make him look more ....human but not initially people still looked at him wrong.... uncanny so densely populated places were a no go. that led to Mike not going out much and it's not like he needed to do much for the last decade or so all he did was work then go sit at home until it was time to work again. most of his time was spent making sure Fazbear was safe and no one tried anything with the company too dangerous. the Afton's technically didn't have any stake in Fazbear entertainment since Henry sold the company for a boat load of cash after William was declared missing.
mike still felt responsible for everything the company does, so mike would usually stake out any new locations as a night guard and would check out the animatronics and other part of the buildings. the night shift didn't always pay all that well but since he didn't need stuff to sustain life all he needed was stuff to repair himself and the house, and stuff to keep him entertained outside of work. like right now he's been in between jobs since he just had gotten fired for a location for "tampering" with the animatronics, more like fix them-anyways. nothing really happened until after Christmas so November is usually his slowest months with the company not doing anything until the summer.
so the colder months are usually spent inside watching reruns of some of him favorite shows like the immortal and restless. unfortunately the show only has 13 episodes since it wasn't popular with kids when it aired, but that doesn't stop him from playing it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over sitting in front of that TV for who knows how long. still playing the familiar cartoon until it was interrupted by a familiar bear.
"the grand opening of the new *thunder* Fazbear fright!
came on down to a location near you for the fright of your lif-"
before the commercial could finish the TV flicked off.
"the hell?" the power button on the remote did nothing after smashing it a few times. after peeling himself off the couch mike made him way to see the TV had no power, trying the lights have the same effect. opening the front door the going down the driveway to the mailbox to find it full of overdue bills, electric, water, property tax,the only thing that seemed payed was the internet. there was also a flyer for the new Freddy's horror attraction....well if that isn't a sign.
