They had survived the bachelor and bachelorette parties. And now the day had come. Franky and Robin’s wedding day.
It was a beautiful ceremony. A flashy ceremony. A loud ceremony.
Only the crew and a few allies attended the affair, but it wasn’t about them. It was about Franky and Robin.
Franky wore a silver rhinestone blazer with a cobalt blue bow tie and matching speedos. His hair was slicked back, and a smile never left his face.
He cried unabashed tears while standing at the altar when he saw Robin making her way down the aisle. She was a vision in her form-fitting, mermaid-cut dress. Her hair was loosely pulled up. She wore white, with cobalt blue dusting the edge of her dress like it was dipped in watercolor.
The vows were unequivocally done in their own style. Franky was honest. He loved her, thought she was the most beautiful thing in the world, and wondered how he got so lucky. Robin was poetic. She too had never hoped for something like this.
As they kissed to seal this bond, Usopp set off the fireworks and confetti cannons. Loud and proud.
Immediately following the kiss, Luffy yelled, “Yes, my crew is married! Let’s eat.”
Sanji had prepared a feast of feasts. There was tons of meat, grilled vegetables, rice and noodles, and sweets galore. He served everything with a flourish and was so happy for the couple.
As the meal wound down, it was time for the toasts.
Zoro was already a couple of drinks in, but he was all too happy to accept another. Chopper had a special glass of sparkling grape juice ready for the toast. He wasn’t ready for another repeat of the bachelor party, or the aftermath. Luffy was ready to toast with the gravy boat before Nami quietly swapped it out for a champagne flute.
Nami spoke first. “Since I have known Robin, I have only wanted her to feel safe and loved. Franky, you big lug, we can see how much you love her. Now just make sure to take care of her and keep her safe, or so help me.”
Franky beamed, and Robin blushed.
Luffy raised his glass next. “My shipwright and my archaeologist just got married. LET’S PARTY!”
Franky yelled, “SUPER!”
Then Brook struck the first chord. The music began as Franky led Robin onto the dance floor. The first song was slow. Franky was gentle with Robin in his arms as they tenderly swayed to the rhythm, lost in each other.
As the beat of the music picked up, Nami, wanting to dance too, grabbed a reluctant Usopp by the arm and dragged him onto the dance floor.
Luffy ran onto the dance floor to dance by himself. Chopper quickly joined him because it looked fun. They held hands and twirled around with smiles on their faces and laughter in the air.
Sanji was smiling at the revelry as he refilled Zoro’s glass. “You planning on getting out there, Moss-head?”
Zoro grabbed his drink and took a swig. “You couldn’t make me, Love-cook.”
Sanji smirked as he walked away. Challenge accepted, Marimo, he thought to himself. The night was still young. There were still plenty of songs and booze left. Everyone was happy. There was still time to convince the big oaf to let loose.
