Ode To Covet

Summary:

"Evbo knew from the moment he could think he was missing something, or perhaps yearning is the right word.
Then he met the other "noobs" and the next thing he learned was that he wasn't like them. He didn't think they saw it. They were all starving in a different way from him. Not the ache of your insides needing more but a twisting nothing inside his soul begging to be fed all. He learned quickly as well, to quickly.
Not to walk alone at night, never do a task needlessly, never go for the beef, never talk back to the pros to much or they may not feed you at all, and that was the day he learned what people did when starving."

Chapter Text

To live so close to the void was a risk human or the like where never ment to take, and yet.

The void loved all its children. But the ones who lived so close to its infinite spaning maw where it's favorite. Not to long ago, or perhaps very long ago it had a favorite among favorites. A man born with a deep hunger in his soul. She gave him a gift, a bit of nothingness he spared to the man. But others disliked this hunger and chained him away from her.

Then another came oh and what a sight he was to see. She new when she had lain their nonexistent eyes opon him he unlike all things would never be claimed by it. No that was for Parkour and Parkour alone. But his hunger was like nothing else. It may have even matched their own.

So instead of truly claiming him she did it in another way. His champion, not human as her others not hybrids or anything of the sort truly, but a champion of the void. He was quick to do it before he would feel that pain of change. It was patient unlike another but now she could hardly wait to see him consume.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Evbo knew from the moment he could think he was missing something, or perhaps yearning is the right word?

Then he met the other "noobs" and the next thing he learned was that he wasn't like them. He didn't think they saw it. They were all starving in a different way from him. Not the ache of your insides needing more but a twisting nothing inside his soul begging to be fed all. He learned quickly as well, to quickly.

Not to walk alone at night, never do a task needlessly, never go for the beef, never talk back to the pros to much or they may not feed you at all, and that was the day he learned what people did when starving.

It wasn't his idea exactly, his neighbor saw him so young and took pity. Showed him how to hunt. To not eat the brain no mater how hungry you are, to brake the bone and drink the marrow and how to dig far past the ribs and make the bits you couldn't fit last without rot. Oh what a taste it was. The hole in his being felt but at bay for the first time. The rich iorn coated his dry throat.

He never felt as full. His neighbor didn't seem as excited as he was to eat. He didn't realy see the difference between human meat and the chicken other than that one tasted better. He learned another lesson that day, never let that excitement slip or you will be met with disgust.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

He learned two more things in ascending up ranks one, cooked food wasn't as good. More filling but it never sat right. He lied to the only one who asked and said it was just him not being used to it. Two seawatt was never his real friend.

He should have antisapted the memory being false. He alway thought it odd he wasn't hungry in it. He just hoped it ment he could fill that nothingness with someone trusted, that the ache was loss or some vague thing he could pass with time. Of course he was wrong.

The same 4 letters where bound to him just the same as the hunger. There was no changeing that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

He had won. A body of a tyrant lay in front of him. He didn't want to waste it but the gates had opened and to many would see. Emf would see. He couldn't take a look of disgust from his face so he restrained. He thought that maybe at the top his hunger would be filled, but no. He had it all and it only grew larger with.

He greeted his friend and hoped he couldn't see the barely restrained nature in his eyes, how sharp his "nails'' were, how sharp his teeth were and how he always moved wrong. He thanked his God that his only friend wasn't a human. It made it harder for Emf to see what Evbo was.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clown had not known what he had expected in Evbo. When he first hear of him he only felt that rage he kept for that traitorous bastard who put him in these chains and pity for those who he tainted. Oh but how wrong he was. The help had done the man no justice truly.

The man before him was something beyond anything he could have hoped to see. A twin soul in a way, the hunger in his eyes was unyielding. It was something he never thought he would see, it may have even surpassed his own.

Oh how beautiful it was. He wished to look it in action, to see him consume. He wanted to pin him down and dissect him, see how he ticked. He was nothing like that old man.

That cowardly man unwilling to change or see the what could be. Evbo was no coward, he could see it in him.

He itched to get closer, to have his eyes drink in every drop of him. He knew it would never be enough, nothing ever was not to him. Not to Evbo either.

A block was placed, the chains broke easier than he though they would (the ages of heat and strugle had weakend them he supposed) and he jumped from his jail to the cool sand. He looked to the man in front of him, his eyes dilated, sharper than they should twords the top, interesting.

His help placed an armor stand, he never stood a chance. Evbo pounced the help made an embarrassing yelp, he didn't even try and hold in a laugh. "What the hell!?" A squawk bounded from the gold drenched man's lips as he attempted to scrambled backwards.[Evbo was using every piece of will he had to not sink his teeth into the man below him. Not to kill no never for him to kill, but to taste just enough to fill his curiosity. He feared if he started he may not stop.] The armor stand forgotten on the floor next to Evbo.

Evbo himself didn't seem to forget it. He brought his foot down sharp and fast on it. A satisfying snap echoed around the roof. The man's head tilted curiously looking down at the man on the floor.[it would be so easy wouldn't it?] Another laugh escaped clowns lips, Evbos head turned back to him. Eyes still hungry and sharp as a predators. A hissing growling hiss spat from his lips. [He looked at the man Infront of him with cautious interest, his hands where sharper than they looked at first glance. He stood so tall. And Evbo saw a hunger even with the mask.]

Oh and how clown could hear that sound for all of time. "Your so much different than I imagined you would be you know?" The words slipped from him with a rasp. Evbos eye sadly went back to a normal roundness, almost human but not quite. "What did you think I would be?" Clown smiled but he didn't give an answer he held back a satisfied pur. The help was still on the ground looking confused, the plan he had worked so hard on to perfect over the years tarnished with a single action.

Clown walked towards the man responsible for his revenge being ruined. Evbo took a single step back but not any further. The fiery glare turning confused. Clown grabbed the green man's chin and lifted it to meet his mask fully. Evbo blushed but didn't pull away from his claws. "I'm going to stop you" the words spoken for Evbo sounded like pulling teeth "I know" he sighed "I won't beat you will i?" Clown lamented.

At that Evbo stilled "WHAT!?" a voice from behind broke in. He has forgotten that the man was with them truthfully "after all that shit, after everything, all the stuff about revenge and destruction. You just give up? You just give up to Evbo? EVBO!?". The man was standing now enraged sadly Evbo had backed away from him during the other man's tantrum. He was directed infront of the fighter now.

"You don't have to be rude about it man" Evbo crossed his arms with a pout. "all you can do is 360's you couldn't even beat me with actually parkour you just jumped me!" No one missed the quiver in his voice. "It's not my fault you reflexes suck" Evbo was smirking now. "I hate you. I actually hate you" "ahhh no you love me" "your jokeing, dude look where we're standing why would I go through all this shit if I didn't hate you... God you suck!" He didn't think the man saying it fully believed it "I mean you could have just killed me and taken my boots" Evbo said it so casually, like he was simply discussing the weather.

The help stilled. Clown was laughing again. God there was realy nothing other he could at this point was there, he wanted to to see what Evbo could do far more than he wanted to kill him. Oh what a beautiful waste it would be for that light to go out.

The calm in how Evbo said it was odd, he sounded almost disappointed that the other hadn't even tried. How clown wanted to pick apart his brain till he understood every wrinkle he coveted it. The lightness in Evbo had quickly disappeared though "look seawatt" oh thats what his helps name was "I'm tired, can we just move this along? Figure out a way back for us all and move on from what ever this is" he said with with a speck anger clown desired to see again with all his soul. Evbo was gesturing wildly at the other man.

His teeth itched to tear into the other man so badly. But he was patient and smart enough to wait. "Seawatt" went from still to clenching his fists with all he had left. The man looked at Evbo, something clown didn't get shared between them and he stormed off. Evbo followed, a lightness to his step and his nails digging into his hands. Clown followed.
