Free TV!

Summary:

You've just gotten a new TV after a teenage girl threatened you that if you don't take it she's gonna show you the new meaning of Christmas. But when you've fallen asleep, you start having a dream of being stuck somewhere dark... darker than dark.

Chapter Text

It’s so dark. Why is it always so dark…

You lift yourself up, pushing your hands against the linoleum floor. It was cold against your hands. You could see underneath the little crack underneath the door, it was dark out there too, but there was enough light out there to make it different from the darkness you were in.

You grimace, how long have you been out for? And where were you? You try to turn the knob. Crap. You push against the door again. Crap!

You sigh, and your hands feel against the wall for anything that could help. Smooth… smooth but kinda scratchy like drywall… oh! Lightswitch. You flick it on and see that you are in a broom closet. Or, well… a janitoral closet, but the specifics don’t really matter.

You look around the shelves, the cleaning material stench was strong, and it kinda made you sick. You notice that the bleach had the lid off. Yeah, no wonder. You look around for the lid and don’t see it. So you unwrap some of a paper towel you found earlier and shove it in gently, just so it stops making that terrible smell. Yikes.

You hear something outside the door, you swallow. Would it be a good idea to open it? Sure, you’re stuck in a closet, but it’s a little bit better than handling whatever is out there. You sigh, you can’t hide from everything forever… well for now at least.

You knock softly on the door.

“Hello? Is someone out there? I’m stuck- and I don’t know how I got in here.” You say, trying to be loud enough to penetrate the doors surface, but not loud enough that you might startle the other person.

You do however, hear a little squeak and you feel yourself grimace. You swallow, but continue to speak. “Helloo…?”

“Hey!” Whoever is on the other side replies.

You tense up. “Hi? Can you unlock the door?”

They seem to hesitate, but they step closer to the door. “Well… there’s a sign here saying… ‘Do not open door, new lightner guest is being contained here.’ And I don’t really wanna make the boss man mad…” They say, relaying information.

You tilt your head. “What’s a lightner? I don’t think I’m one of those..?” The person on the other side of the door chuckles in response.

“Oh you must be a lightner then, everyone knows what a lightner is except lightners themselves!” They chuckle. “Are you… hungry or something? ‘Cause I don’t think there’s a sign that says I’m not allowed to feed the hungry lightner!”

You swallow, feeling how dry your mouth is and how empty your stomach is. “Yeah, kinda..?”

“I’ll go get you something from the Green Room, but uh, it probably won’t be something you recognize..” You can hear the smile in their voice as they talk, and then you hear them walk away.
