Chapter 1: Original Scene

Chapter Text

The bright lights of the bathroom brought attention to the pink pregnancy test.

The five minutes had passed.

As Leo turned his gaze towards it, his eyes widened in shock. The crash of the plastic echoed throughout the room.

‘T-There’s no way…’ He thought to himself with shaky breaths, quickly ripping open the package to a new test.

——————

Leo gripped the handles of his backpack tightly, scurrying through the busy hallways filled with chatter. The sounds of people talking sounded especially loud today, paired with his own racing thoughts.

He knew the moment he arrived in science, he would have to break the news.

What was he going to say? How would… he react? It was all too stressful to prepare for, especially in one night.

The test wasn’t wrong, he was certainly pregnant. Even though they used protection and Leo himself was on Plan B, it still happened.

The dreaded door to the science room came into view. With shaky hands, Leo extended his hand to the metal knob.

He gripped the handles tightly, sharply exhaling. ‘It’s okay. Just act normally.’ His mind repeated as he turned the knob and entered the room.

There he saw him — the love of his life — Alan.

Leo thought he looked as gorgeous as always. As soon as their eyes met, Alan flashed a wide smile and raced towards his partner’s side.

“Hey Leo~” Alan cooed seductively as the two walked to their desks. “Ready for round two tonight?”

Leo stalled, kneeling down pretending to search for something in his backpack to hide his terrified expression. “Y-Yeah. Totally.” His voice couldn’t help but crack.

They had both agreed that their hookups wouldn’t be romantic, but Leo just couldn’t help but fall in love. With the addition of a baby on its way, Alan was sure to leave.

He couldn’t afford to abort the child either. It felt unethical to just kill a personification of their love — even if it was unrequited.

It hurt…

A warm hand rested on Leo’s shoulder.

It was usually comforting, but the weight of the announcement stuck at the tip of his tongue made it feel like it was burning his entire body.

“…You okay? You can tell me whatever’s on your mind.” Alan reassured, kneeling with Leo on the hard tile floor. He bit his lip, avoiding the soft gaze of Alan.

He couldn’t keep it in anymore.

The two locked eyes, communicating a look of security. “I… have something to tell you.”

Alan nodded, and Leo slowly started unzipping his front pocket, grasping onto the pregnancy test.

“I’m…” He slowly pulled the test out of the pocket for Alan to see. He continued after a deep breath, “I’m pregnant.”

The larger man looked at his lover with wide eyes. He couldn’t believe it.

He ran his hands through Leo’s golden brown hair, embracing him. Leo felt his eyes start to well up with hot tears as he hugged Alan back.

He pulled back holding Leo by his waist. He looked at him in his blue eyes — the blue eyes he had adored since they first met.

“Let’s raise this baby. Together”

These words allowed Leo’s tears to fall as a wide grin painted itself onto his face. He cupped Alan’s chubby cheeks in his hands, easing into his lover’s soft touch around his waist.

Their lips softly pressed against each others, combining their emotions as one —  although their kiss was cut off in an instant. They turned their heads away from each other, bright red creeping up on both of their faces. Even though they had repeated such actions almost millions of times before, it felt different.

This wasn’t a kiss laced with lust or desire, but it was one with the purest intentions of mutual love — a feeling foreign to both of them.

For what seemed like an eternity, the only people in the world were them — sharing the happiness that they had created together.

“Thank you.”
