About Me ! ᡣ𐭩

Notes:

A quick warning before we get the ball rolling, I have plans for this to be fairly lengthy. When it comes to talking about writing, I can become quite talkative. Writing is one of, if not my all time favorite past time– I will take any opportunity to talk about it. It means a lot to me.

However, each section will be appropriately labeled for convenience. Allowing readers to easily skip to the section that interests then the most.

Secondly, this will only be focused on my life as a writer, nothing unrelated. Meaning my personal life outside of anything that affects my writing will not be mentioned. The entire purpose of this is to show who I am in regards to writing– what I enjoy writing, my writing style, ect. Anything else is irrelevant. It also helps better abide by AO3s rules regarding works that aren't considered 'fan works'.

Finally, I have plans to update this whenever needed. If something were to change, such as me suddenly one day deciding I am no longer interested in writing for a specific fandom. Those fandoms will remain listed, but will be labeled as 'inactive' for those curious as to why I have works for said fandom, but haven't written anything for it in a while. Sometimes people just age out of fandoms, or grow out of said interest. It's a natural thing. This is a precaution to let those who specifically subscribed to me for a certain fandom know it's not likely they'll see works for it from me anymore.

Anyways, that's all for warnings. Shall we begin?

Chapter Text

⠀⠀ ⠀

⠀⠀ ⠀

Hey! You can just call me Sage , I am an aroace neurodivergent, transmasc writer who uses He/They pronouns and has been writing for a little over a decade now. Back at the tail end of 2024, I took the liberty of deciding it would be in my best interest to orphan my old account. This is because the fandoms I indulged myself in as a kid, do not reflect who I am today. There are certain ones I'd rather not tie myself to or be known for, if you get what I mean. Despite this, I do know that one of those stories I wrote back then could have possibly been someone's favorite. While I might think they were trash, it doesn't mean others do, so I orphaned the account instead of just deleting all of those works.

Meaning that while this AO3 account may be fairly new, I am by no means new to the site in the slightest.

WRITING SCHEDULE.

One of my main resolutions for the upcoming year is to actually stick to a fairly consistent schedule. However, this might prove difficult due to a few factors. Remember, I am an adult, so this unfortunately means that I have responsibilities involving my part-time job. I really feel there just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I'd like to do. Writing may be one of my main hobbies, but it is not the only one I have.

I also happen to be a vtuber and a dancer. I enjoy watching anime , Asian dramas and reading Manga/Fics. So many activities that can easily take multiple hours out of my day. That coupled with having to be at work for 6-7 hours, along with needing to get a good nights rest, thwre really just isnt enough time for me to do everything. It's honestly tiring trying to juggle not only my job, but the 50 million hobbies I have as well, but, I still manage somehow. Unfortunately my work schedule changes daily and is rarely ever consistent. This only proves to make things more difficult when trying to put aside time for the activities I enjoy.

Thanks to the fact I'm only part time, I usually am guaranteed at least two days off a week. Along with my manager who seems to prefer to schedule me mornings most of the time , leaving my afternoons & evenings completely free. The only issue is that, after work I'm always so tired. I end up just bed-rotting and doom scrolling my time away.

This is something I've found to be a major issue of mine. I'm so tired of being lazy. It's why my goal for the new year is to write at least 4 times a week for a minimum of 4 hours. This is to give myself a good balance with an activity I enjoy, while also avoiding potentionally burning myself out from writing to much. I think it'd work perfectly , as I am guaranteed off two days a week. Meaning that the two days I do not work, I can focus solely on writing. The final two days I choose to write on, can easily be rotated to be on whatever day ends up being the least busiest for me.

Now, as for posting, I do have plans to TRY and post twice a week. One will be guaranteed to be an update to an ongoing fic of mine, the other will most likely be a oneshot. However, I will ALWAYS prioritize longfics over oneshots. This is why there might be weeks where the only update you get is one to an ongoing fic I've been working on. I will be posting these on Friday and/or Saturday at 11 PM CST. I've noticed that weekends tend to be when the sites most active due to most not having school or work the following day. So these are usually the best days to post new works.

⠀⠀ ⠀

WRITING STYLE.

In my honest opinion, I really dont know if I have a particular writing style. One thing I will say, is that I will NEVER use AI for any of my works. I am very very firm on this decision, AI has no place in creative spaces. As the creators of the amazing game known as DISPATCH once said. "AI is a 'creative' solution for those who dont know how to be creative." Another one of my favorite quotes in regards to AI slop is, "You dont want to be creative. You want the fame, attention and a finished product."

This is why, no matter how rough it gets and no matter what kind of rut I'm in, I will never stoop so low as to use AI for my writing. Remember, just because someone is literate and knowledgable does not mean they used AI. It's an accusation I've seen floating around towards those who just so happen to have a talent for stringing words together, an accusation I have actually received myself. It's one of the reasons I've unfortunately had to go back to the good old fashion pencil and paper. I really had no choice.

Never forget who AI steals from.

The creative space has no room for AI. Thank you for coming to my tedtalk.

QUOTA.

I have a certain quota I have set for myself weekly. I'm someone who wants a great mix of quantity while also not sacrificing the quality of my work just to pump out more. He quota is so that I dont half-ass or get lazy about my writing. It's a simple quota, just a measly minimum of 7K words written a week. The average number of words I usually write per chapter when doing long fics or even just oneshots.

Any less, and I'd feel like I was cheating my readers out of content. Expecially for those who've been anxiously awaiting the following chapter of a story I've been working on. It's why I believe 7K MINIMUM a week is a nice set number. Chances are, I'll far surpass that number, weekly, as I can easily write around that much in a single night. Although, I know there might be nights where I'm struck with crippling writers block that I can't do much about. It's why I won't force myself to go over that number.

Besides, I did the math the other day and 7,000 times 52 weeks ended up at around 364,000 words. Which 364,000 words yearly is not a bad number at all.

GENRES & TAGS.

While I may not have a writing style, much like any writer, I have things that I may or may not be comfortable with writing. This is where I'll be listing those.

I am someone who's always felt more connected to MLM & WLW pairings. As someone who's apart of the LGBT community myself, I enjoy giving representation where we as a community lack it canonically. This in no way means I despise straight pairs, there are some such as timebomb , ruinene & lida × naveen that I absolutely adore to bits.

I just happen to prefer gay pairings myself, its why most of my works except a small percentage of them will probably end up being a gay ship. My page has no room for hatred, so if you don't like it, feel free to leave. My lack of writing for straight pairs will not affect your life in any way, shape or form. It's better if we just dont interact all together, thank you !

As for genres , the two I enjoy the most are mystery and slice of life. I write about other things such as horror, and fantasy. However the before mentioned two are the genres I always find myself coming back to. Most of my fics will usually be tagged as teen (due to my potty mouth), maybe there might be times when I am forced to tag a fic as mature because of certain graphic scenes I opted to include in the story.

I will RARELY ever tag a fic as explicit. Seeing as I am aroace, I am extremely inexperienced with things like that. I've never done it nor do I ever plan to. Maybe one day I will write an explicit fic so that I can understand the love and trust characters have for each other, but for now most of my romance stories will never go past passionately kissing on the couch. That's as far as I'm usually willing to go.

As for archive warnings, the only one I am likely to occasionally use is the "graphic depictions of violence" tag. Maybe from time to time "major character death" IF I am feeling up to writing a fic like that. However those fics will be few and far between as I prefer at most writing "angst with a happy ending." OR hurt/comfort since I personally enjoy seeing my faves happy. There's enough depression in the real world, I don't need more of that in my stories to, if you get my drift !

SHIP WEEKS + THE WHEEL.

There is a semi-popular activity within the fandom space known as a 'ship week', they're weeks created by fans of certain pairings. A ship week can honestly exist for anything if someone goes out of their way to make one. These are a way to bring the creatives of the fandom space together, and create something special for these pairs they love so dearly. While only two pairs are extensively on my mind 24/7 (which I will go into detail about at a later date), I have many many pairs that I actually enjoy. Not all of them I would consider writing about, due to their dynamic usually not being something I feel is could write correctly. Most of them, I would consider writing about, eventually though. Ship weeks allow me to write about those dejected pairs I've forgotten about, as most of my ideas usually go to the before mentioned pair fixations of mine.

While I doubt I'll actually have the time to write for every single day within a ship week. My main goal is to at least write for 4 of the days. That's more than half, which isn't a bad number at all. Not to mention the creators of said week usually post the prompts months in advanced, thankfully allowing people to create stuff before hand if needed. This helps me immensely so that I'm not trying to rush each piece out. Remember, quality over quantity for me.
