Summary:

Who would have thought that building and decorating a gingerbread house is not one of Jona's strong suits?

Title translation: In this moment there's everything

Day 15 and the start of a new week. Starting it off with a little bit of Halln! See you again tomorrow for something else!

Work Text:

Jona and Emilia were sitting in her living room, sitting around the table. She had gone and picked him up for a little project they had agreed on. On the table, in front of them was a semi-organized chaos; bakes pieces of a gingerbread house, tubes of icing, in all available colors (which in this case meant white, pink and green) and candy canes, mini marshmallows and small and round, colorful candies for decoration. Jona had taken it upon himself to glue all the pieces together with the white icing. Emilia was, however, keeping a close eye on the way he worked, and had some things to say about it.
"Did you seriously use half the tube of icing on decorating the roof but barely anything when you attached the walls together?"
she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Now, Emilia.. It's important, for aesthetic purposes. Have a little faith, will you?"
Jona said back, his face in a focused frown as he carried on decorating the roof.
"We'll see how much faith you still have when your aesthetic purposes collapse directly on you,"
Emilia had a response all ready to go.
"You see, we could have just used the mini marshmallows and filled the roof with them, or used powdered sugar. It would have lookd even nicer and you wouldn't have needed to go that crazy with icing."

Despite of Jona's possibly backwards work ethics, things seemed to go alright for a while. Him and Emilia were working together without any bigger issues. Friendly bickering was normal and didn't count. Jona was just decorating one side of the roof with the little candies when the gingerbread house suddenly collapsed right in front of him.
"..Oh,"
was all he was able to say after a few seconds of stunned silence. Emilia was staring at him from the other side of the table.
"Well.. I think it's safe to say that you won't have a future as a construction worker, at least,"
she simply had to point out what was already quite obvious. She then started snickering, unable to hold herself back. There was something so comical about the whole thing; the gingerbread house having mostly collapsed and Jona being unable to do anything except stare at it like he'd just lost his ability to speak or otherwise function.

Jona had frozen suddenly, his arm still held out halfway to the remains of their gingerbread house, still carefully holding onto a tiny, bright green candy. He seemed to be in disbelief as he stared what was left of the house. But it didn't take too long until her snickering rubbed off on him, too. And soon after that both of them were laughing. It felt strangely freeing.
"How about I just make us some coffee?"
Emilia suggested once she was finally able to speak again, stood up and walked into the kitchen.
Once she had returned to the living room with two mugs and set them down on the table, the pair sat together, drinking coffee and eating the pieces of their collapsed house. Their project might have turned into a total disaster in the end, but at least they'd had fun working on it together.
