Grinchy as is for Saturnalia!
It was the eve of the seasonal celebration, Saturnalia.
Sinker dressed up in his merry man outfit, his quiver having lots of fun things related to said celebration.
Boost though, wasn’t living for it. Being as grinchy and grumpy as ever! Dressed in all black he was too, even if they were supposed to be on shore leave and in their civvies.
“Oh come on Boost, live it up a little!”
“No!”
“Why do you always have to be so grumpy, huh?”
“Am not!”
“Aha!”
“Nope!”
“Well, look at yer face, it’s a frown ya got on there!”
“Well…”
“Yes?”
“It’s not easy. This time of year.”
“Wot?”
“I mean the cheer and singing and dancing and…”
“It’s supposed to be fun, cause it’s, ya know, Saturnalia!”
“But…”
“Hey, were all there with ya. Life ain’t fair nor easy for any of us clones. So what gives huh, Boost?”
“Well, I really don’t know how to…”
“How to wot, Boost?”
“Sing! Okay!”
“No?”
“Yeah….”
“So, that’s what’s causing yer stick up the ole shebs frown?”
“That’s the one thing. I guess.”
“Well, we have to remedy that ASAP!”
Sinker then drew out from his merry quiver, tinsel made in fun colours he then continued to pour onto the scowling Boost.
“What the…???”
“Oh relax, Boost! Simply spreading some holiday cheer is all!”
“Fine!”
“It really is! Now this is how to get in the mood.”
Sinker then pressed the keys on the datapad, the holo-radio coming alive with merry songs filling the air all around.
“So, what happens next?” Boost perhaps feeling it a little? Being decorated in festive colours.
“Next, we start stinging.”
“But… I can’t.”
“Never mind the can’t. Just, listen to the words and start humming.”
Sinker took the lead, opening up his voice and letting it fly across the airwaves was the tunes simply popped out of the trooper.
“Your voice is pretty.” Boost knowing this already.
“Yeah? Well, so is yours, just, open up a little, okay.”
Boost tried, humming at first, then a few words out in a low register.
“Louder, Boost!”
Boost gave Sinker the stinker stare. But, then, he cleared his throat and…
… the angelic voice he lot out was…. a Saturnian Miracle!
Sinker simply staring at him, a smile emerging. The two then singing in chorus all the fine tunes of the seasonal celebration. Smiles on both their faces, the Grinch of Saturnalia having found his seasonal cheer-filled spirit for sure!
