December 18 – Plane

“Is everything in the car?” Santana asked Brittany before she locked and shut the door. “We remembered their quilts? Formula?”
Brittany kissed her cheek. “We've got everything we need and, if we don't, we'll be in Lima before five since someone decided we should leave before the sun was up. Walmart will still be open.” She grinned and picked up Jax
Santana huffed out a sigh as she picked up Diego, pulling the door closed behind her as she walked out.
“I wanted to leave before the sun was up to avoid the paps, just in case.” She told her. “I know I'm not superstar level or anything but …”
“I know, honey. Hopefully, no one will recognize you while we're traveling. Or they'll see you and think you look familiar but can't quite place you.” She gave a tug to make sure the carseat was secure. “But I'm sure we have whatever we'll need on the road.”
Santana slipped into the driver seat. “I hope our families don't go overboard – the Jeep isn't really all that big. Maybe we should think about trading it in?”
“We got all of the shower gifts to Lima in it, I'm sure it'll be fine,” Brittany tried to reassure her wife; they were driving the ten hours to Lima because they didn't think it would be practical taking the babies on a plane – especially since they were only eighteen days old – and bringing back whatever their parents and grandparents bought for the boys definitely would have been an issue.
“Yeah, but we didn't have two carseats taking up the backseat.”
“Well, we'll bring back what we can and ship whatever we can't.” Brittany told her. “But, yeah, I think we might want to think about an upgrade to an SUV or a minivan.”
“No, Britt. No minivans,” Santana shook her head vehemently as she started the car, “I am not ready to be a soccer mom with a minivan. An SUV is at least still in the realm of cool.”
Brittany laughed at her wife's ridiculousness. “Okay, San, we'll look for an SUV when we get back. Or maybe even while we're in Lima. Maybe Burt's got one.”
Santana pulled out in to traffic and pointed the Jeep toward Lima with a sigh. “I love my Jeep.”
“I know, honey.” Brittany reached over and took Santana's hand. “But we'll find a cool SUV that you'll love just as much.”
Santana smiled. “I love you, Britt.”
“I love you, too.”
