Chapter Text
Prologue
In this world, early in its days witches and wizards existed. They, of course, played a vital role in helping others. There were witches/wizards for hire, wild witches/wizards and witches/wizards who owned their own shops. They could make potions and even use magic. Although using magic was less common amongst them as it took a lot of energy. Potions tended to be easier as only ingredients were needed.
In this world there lived a kind King with his Queen. Their kingdom was beautiful and vibrant. They loved each other very much, of course. But what is a good story without a little discourse?
The queen bore a child, a little girl. Unfortunately, the king wasn't happy with a girl. He wanted a boy. And he didn't want to waste another try on potentially getting another girl. So as king he abused his power to get the resident witch to create him a baby boy.
The witch, of course, refused and rightfully so. She told him it would be dangerous and that there would be no guarantee of it going well at all.
But the King, as selfish as he was, he didn't care and demanded for it to be done and the witch had no choice but to do as he said for fear of being beheaded or locked up. She created him the prefect baby boy and the King was overjoyed.
As years passed, new kings and queens rose to the throne and died. Witches became toys and tools. Tools to use by kings and queens and toys used by nobles. The witches and wizards began going into hiding or leaving the kingdom. Some even hid in plain sight never using their magic to look ordinary or even lived as shapeshifters.
A two hundred years later is where our story takes place.
