"Please hold for a line to open up."
*Hold music*
*Line connects*
"Salutations. My name is Dyle Timesly, associate at Gardenview Park and Entertainment, and I will be your Customer Agent today. How may I assist you?"
*Voice speaks through line*
"...Dandicus, I've told you this before, stop calling this line. It holds actual callers longer than they should."
*Hangs up*
Dyle was used to this. It was routine. Just 3 hours earlier he had worked on getting the building up and ready for the opening at 9 AM sharp. Now that he wouldn't have to do anything else, all he had to do was take a few calls for the day and watch over the trains.
...
It did bore him though. Doing the same thing over and over for days, months, even years with no end. Sure, he had hobbies to pass the time such as writing and reading some books, but they also got boring after some time. He wanted to join the show, see the other toons, meet the children, know what it means to be a toon.
*Knock-knock*
Dyle was startled by the noise. Who would be here to talk to him? It couldn't be one of the toons, right?
"It's open..!"
Sprout walked into the room, with a fresh batch of cupcakes that seemed to be just for Dyle.
"Hey Dyle! I woke up earlier than usual and made a fresh batch of cupcakes to pass the time, but no one I've asked wants it. So I just wanted to ask if you wanted them..! If you don't, that's totally fine I can always just leave them for later-"
"Yes, I'll have them Sprout. I haven't eaten anything yet anyways."
"Perfect! Well, here you go, I'll just leave them on the table and I'll be on my way-"
"No, no. Stay, please. Find a seat if you need to."
As Sprout sets the cupcakes on the table infront of Dyle, he's a little surprised at being asked to stay in his room, but he listens and finds a place to sit near Dyle's desk.
"So, what do you need to talk to me for?"
"Ahem... I've been quite lonely, just sitting in this room all day operating Gardenview and taking calls, which is nice and all, but I've been wanting to.. do something else. Do you know what I mean?"
"As in being on the show and getting to meet the kids?"
"Yes! I know it sounds out of character for me, but it's been something I've wanted to do for a long time, Sprout."
"...Maybe you could ask the owners if they could let you on the show? I'm sure they'd let you in!"
"Hmm... Alright then. I'll be sure to ask them when I get the chance. Thank you for coming Sprout, I don't usually receive visits from other Toons."
"Oh, it's no problem, really! I'll try visiting more often, alright?"
"Mhm, and thank you for the cupcakes too."
By the time Dyle finished, Sprout was making his way up to the lobby through the elevator in his room. Dyle was quite relieved that Sprout visited, it was a bit of a break in the monotonous loop he was in. He started to eat the cupcakes, taking in their taste like water in a desert. It wasn't his usual meal, but it would do.
