Chapter Text
Spring - 7th of April 80 AGW (After Great War).
Neon Katt was watching the city of Atlas slowly coming into view as she was sitting in the air bus heading to Atlas Academy. As someone from Mantle, it was a city she often heard about and saw the gigantic bottom of, the last time she had seen the top herself was during a school excursion when she still was a child.
The airship they were using was luxurious to someone coming from Mantle, how the engines were but a hum in her ear, how the climate control wasn’t too hot or too cold and how every part of the ship seemed to be designed to be enjoyed.
It almost distracted her from the glances of her peers. As a Faunus with a cat tail it was something she had gotten used to, it gave her a sort of pride. Her mother came from the Mantle Crater directly underneath Atlas while her father’s origins weren’t much better. While Faunus weren’t exactly rare in Atlas Academy she had heard, they often preferred going to the other academies, sometimes even staying there for their entire huntsman careers. The other kingdoms were all but eager to take over any potential huntsmen, even if the racism against their kind was in their kingdoms too.
She did not assume any of them were specifically because of her cat tail though, she did love dressing as attention grabbing as she could. When she got accepted into the academy, because come on, they would have to accept her. She likely would be forced to wear that boring white school uniform the academy was known for. Her lovely orange hair likely being forced to be styled straight instead of the two pig tails she usually wore. She had a shoulder bag on her. Her nunchuks and roller skates were hidden away.
She was glad to know that her red heart tattoo on her cheek and piercings would be allowed. Likely the only sign of rebellion she could have against the draconian dress rules. She hoped that none of her friends at Mantle would see her in the uniform.
As the academy slowly came into view, Neon heard someone walking up behind her, she turned around and saw a woman with orange hair, tied with a pink bow and green eyes approach her. ‘’Salutations! My name is Penny, it’s a beautiful academy isn’t it?’’ she said with almost an infectious amount of happiness. She liked this one.
‘’Hello! My name is Neon!, and yeah i guess so, it’s unlike anything i have seen in Mantle.’’ She said facing her with a responding smile.
‘’Oh you are from Mantle as well? That is sensational! Did you know that Atlas Academy used to be called Alsius? It used to be a small combat school in Mantle, though when the City of Atlas was founded, it was reopened within that city. It is regarded as the most significant factors of to the prosperity of the city.’’ She said seemingly without taking a breath. Here she thought she was someone that talked too much.
‘’Oh that is.. interesting! I'm from Steelspire Heights. I have seen some faces from the preparatory school in Mantle though I haven't seen you before. Where do you come from in Mantle?’’ The woman went quiet for a few seconds. ‘’My father Pietro and I live in Rustbelt!’’ She looked around herself, seemingly locking eyes with a dark skinned woman. ‘’I have to go now, I hope we can talk later, Neon! Good luck with your initiation.’’ The woman said, waving as she walked towards the other woman.
She waved in return. ‘’Good luck with yours as well Penny!’’ Unlike an academy like Beacon, Atlas Academy’s initiations were relatively simple. All she had to do was complete a short combat assignment against robots. Her application was created together with her teacher in the preparatory school. Pages about her semblance, her weapon and any other of her capabilities all were written down, submitted and judged by Atlas Academy leadership. She wasn’t sure how the teams were decided, perhaps there was even a chance that they already were decided and she was sitting in the same air bus as them.
Upon the bus arriving and Neon stepping out, she was faced with the same feeling of being small that she got looking at Atlas from the bottom of Mantle, the top of the academy was the highest point of the city. She couldn’t even imagine what the view would be from the top of it.
All of her peers needed to be quiet and stand in line as the staff of the academy went through their lists. Calling their names and writing that they were present. The staff gave her a weird look as she grinned at them. She was going to enjoy her freedom to dress herself as long as she could. Once the last name had been called, a man had exited out of the academy, it was a man she had seen often on the television. General Ironwood.
The man slightly fixed his tie and cleared his throat. ‘’Thank you all for wanting to be part of the fight for the betterment of not only Atlas but the entire world of Remnant. Everyone here already has showcased the talent which we will be eager to test today. We expected you to be respectful to the staff and your peers. Whatever your life was before you came here, Mantle, Atlas or anywhere else. We are equals here. Follow our guidance and we will make you a respectable Huntsman and even a Specialist if you desire” The man turned around and walked back towards the enemy. One of the previous staff replaced his position.
It was a man with brown hair and teal green eyes. He was wearing a white and dark blue uniform like the other staff though his arms were fully uncovered. ‘’My name is Clover Ebi, I will be your Grimm Studies teacher if you make it through the following test. Keep in mind that failing your assignment will not necessarily mean that you won’t be allowed. We just want to see if you filled in your application properly.’’ He sounded confident in his words. ‘’Myself or one of my colleagues shall escort you towards the training rooms.’’
What exactly students would face during initiations was changed every year. She even heard one where students would have to fight in the freezing cold. Still she was confident her father had put her into one of the best preparatory schools of Mantle, despite her protests because of the costs, she was deeply grateful to him. He worked in the military as one of the men guarding the walls between Mantle and the frozen Tundra, not that he ever fought a Grimm like that, while the Grimm had started coming closer to the city. Gunships would be dispatched before they even got near the walls.
Clover escorted her group through the halls of Atlas. Everything was spotless to an almost scary decree. The blue lights on the walls in the form of torches gave everything a sort of blue hue. Arches above every hallway with columns decorating many.
They were led towards the training area where they all sat down in pairs of two. The teacher had assured them that they were free to converse as they were waiting. Neon noticed that the woman next to her was the one Penny had noticed in the air bus. She had dark teal hair in an asymmetrical bob-cut. She seemed to be stoic, constantly peering at the clock in the corner of the room and avoiding the eyes of her. Maybe it was because she was a Faunus or maybe she was just shy.
‘’Heya! My name is Neon. I met your friend Penny when I was on the air bus. You two are friends right? She definitely seemed to know you.’’ she said with a happy tone in her voice. Trying to figure out the woman. She definitely did look older than her. The maximum age of students was 21 and she definitely seemed to be around that.
She appeared to be surprised, letting out a slight sigh. ‘’My name is Ciel, we are.. friends that met each other in preparatory school yes.’’ She said before her eyes quickly shifted away from her. Neon wasn’t one to give up quickly though. ‘’I like your hair, I never really tried short hair but you are rocking it!’’
‘’Thank you.’’ The woman said not even bothering to turn around. It was almost starting to annoy her. ‘’Are you nervous about the test? Or about that friend of yours? I'm sure they will be fine. She seemed passionate about the city. She told me she comes from Mantle as well. How about you?’’ She said leaning forward.
Ciel turned around, a slight annoyance in her eyes. ‘’Oh did she tell you that? Well I'm from Atlas myself. Penny.. knows how to keep a conversation going certainly.’’ The two stared awkwardly at each other before Neon finally gave up. Shortly afterwards her name was called.
She was led towards a locker room and grabbed her weapons and roller skates. She was happy to hold them again. Rollerskating had been an integral part of her childhood. It all started when her father had given her a second hand pair he bought at goodwill. Despite the very squeaky wheels, she had used it daily, of course she did grow and eventually she had to buy new ones. Her nunchucks called Nunchaku were her most precious object besides her rollerskates. Twirling it around her hands gave her a huge boost of confidence. She cracked them like glowsticks and the grey dull exterior would the dust within them. Providing a nice hue of whatever colour of dust she used, though it often was ice dust.
She exited the locker room and started skating towards the entrance. Turning her weapon around her body. Whatever was going to appear in that training room. She was going to kick ass. She couldn’t wait to use her semblance. Passing through the arch. She could see that her teacher was right about how the test would be taken. It was a giant empty room with hard-light created obstacles in the form of gigantic cubes. She could see light blue grid walls standing but also bridges and obstacles. The entrance behind her closed.
A robotic voice started speaking through the speakers ‘’Candidate Neon Katt, the test will start soon. Your goal is to survive as long as possible. If your aura goes underneath 15% the test will be complete.’’
‘’Activating Combat Environment A3C-1’’
‘’Phase 1. Activated.’’
Neon stood still, glancing around her and imagining a beat in her head. It would be important for her semblance, she started nodding her head to it. A high buzz was heard as Neon could hear the sound of footsteps rapidly approach her. ‘’Training mode activated.. Locating target..’’ She saw 4 AK-130’s approach from a corner wielding blades, she had some experience running away from them in Mantle though directly fighting had always been a stupid thing to do. ‘’Let’s go rustbuckets!’’ She yelled as she started moving towards them. Ready to finally satiate her curiosity.
‘’Target located.’’ She knew from her training that they had 3 modes of combat. One was their fists, the second one was their blades to directly strike at their targets. It was the one they most often used though she was taught that was purely because the firing mode was too dangerous around mere criminals, especially the risk of hurting innocents. It was only to be used as a last resort when their target was proving dangerous. Though in military installations and other restricted areas, such rules did not apply.
When she was only a metre away from meeting the blade of one, she used her semblance to gain momentum as she started rapidly making circles around the group. Causing rainbow stripes to follow her. She kept listening to the beat in her head. The most dangerous part of her semblance was that the momentum she gained wouldn’t disappear right away upon turning it off. If she tripped or lost her balance, it would often end up with her meeting the ground or the wall. She cracked her nunchucks, the blue hue enlightening the area around her hands.
She kept circling around them, when she noticed one was finally prepared to strike, she quickly shot into another direction, circling around a hardlight wall before using her semblance to return at a high speed. Striking its head and freezing it at the same time. The metal croaked as the head detached and the robot fell to the ground. ‘’Any of you want to join your buddies?’’ One responded with a strike, which Neon answered with a hit to its leg. It froze to the ground as the robot seemed confused on what to do. It tried to move it up, to the sides, before it stood still for a few seconds. Grabbing its blade and shattering it.
‘’I hope all of you have a good firewall, or should I say ice-wall.’’ There were three left of them She went in for another swoop of her nunchucks, hitting one’s blades and shattering them. The robot seemed confused on what to do before rapidly approaching her. They really weren’t much of a challenge on their own and Neon easily separated it from its head.
The two remaining ones finally decided to switch tactics as their miniguns were activated. She kept making circles around them. She noticed that they would stop firing when their ally was in their aim. Neon stopped and made a sudden turn. Jumping and landing on her target with her skates. It flew into its buddy. It shattered upon contact, before the other managed to stand up, Neon had struck its weak spot, their small hip area as their legs detached from the body.
Everything became quiet for a few seconds.
‘’Phase 2. Activated.’’
Instead of the AK-130’s appearing. Everywhere around her Atlesian Beam Turrets started popping out of the floor. She had seen those before when walking along the Mantle Wall. She focused within her inner rhythm. To the beat she had created in her mind. ‘’Never miss a beat.’’ She reassured herself. She knew that the turret wasn’t made for rapid fire, instead taking a shot every few seconds. She just had to be either quick or know when to pass to cover. The turrets started firing ‘’Hostile spotted, engaging’’, the ground shook every few seconds but she managed to stay in control. A weak spot her father told her was the camera that was on the top of it. She struck her nunchucks into it. It shattered and as she knew, the turret turned off. One after another started falling. It was even easier than the phase 1 test she had undergone.
When there was only one standing, she started making circles around it again. It fired every few seconds but missed every time. The metal sound of the gears trying to make the thing turn around quicker became louder. ‘’Come on, I'm right here!’’ she taunted the thing, before sighing and striking the turret from the barrel to the side. It bent slightly and froze, before retracting into the ground again.
‘’Phase 3. Activated.’’
She heard a gigantic metal sound, coming from the corner of the room as the ground slightly shook underneath her. She started skating her way towards it with a confident grin. Was it just going to be more AK-130s? Perhaps combined with the turrets? She couldn’t wait to find out. She turned around the final corner and saw what was waiting for her.
‘’Introducing the prototype of the Paladin-290. Invented by one of our greatest scientists Arthur Watts of The Atlesian Engineering Team. Enjoy the demonstration of the battlesuit.’’
It was a gigantic robot controlled by a pilot within. It was almost big enough to hit the roof of the training hall. ‘’Fuck.’’ was all that Neon could say before she switched directions and started backtracking. The ground quaked as it started following her. The hard light walls and cubes were destroyed merely by the mech running into them. She had to change her tactics, if her goal was to survive as long as possible, she was going to make the mech work for it to win. She had to stay focused on her movements. Using the ramps that were around the area, she was maneuvering around the mech, staying above it and towards the sides though it merely started ramming into those areas as well. Her protection was being whittled away and unlike in the real world. Once it was gone, she was screwed.
It merely took a few minutes for the entire room to have gotten empty. Yet again she manoeuvred around the robot, using the speed of her semblance. It made one final charge and as Neon could see the corner of the room getting closer. She smiled. She turned around and faced it. Striking its metal with a dull thud that was answered by a hail of bullets.
‘’The participant's aura level is below 15%. The match is completed.’’
The lights above her turned brightly white as she could see that the entrance had an arrow pointing towards it. She was sure that she was skilled enough, they would be idiots if they didn’t accept her. She had rumours of a gigantic battlesuit being in development through her father though this exceeded her expectations widely, something that not often happened. Neon started skating to the entrance, where she saw the Grimm Studies teacher awaiting her.
“I'm impressed with your test results, Neon. I can't say anything about whether you are accepted or not. Your application definitely did not lie, even with your.. colorful use of words.” He said with a slight smirk. “Please store your weapons, follow the signs to the Amphitheater and await your results.” Neon responded with a playful salute and skated towards the locker room.
When she had almost gotten to the door, she saw Ciel again and avoided running into her by dodging to the left of her. “Whoops my bad Ciel!” She said with a smile though she did not seem to share those feelings.
“You do know that using any sort of transport like skating is forbidden within Atlas grounds correct? You could have run into me.” She said, unknowingly bawling her fist. Neon shrugged her shoulders as she balanced on her skates. “Geez don’t worry I did see you, worry about your own Initiation. I don't take orders from you.” Before Ciel could say anything else, she already passed by her and went into the locker room. Putting her nunchucks and skates into a bag again.
The Amphitheater had been the biggest room that Neon Katt ever had seen in her life. She couldn't even count how many chairs were there and the screen felt like four times the size of the biggest cinema screen she had seen in Mantle. On the screen itself stood a spinning Atlas icon, she was becoming oh so bored. None of her friends wanted to join the snobby Academy so she was alone. Which was new for her.
The screen turned black before a video played. Other people slowly started filling the Amphitheater as their tests were completed.
It was a cartoon video. Reminding her of the hospital flyers her mother would bring back home.
A younger man and woman were standing next to each other. The man looked towards the woman. “I have started my fourth year, and I'm not sure what I want to do after I graduate. I always wanted to be a Huntsman but I dislike the chaos that comes with it, either looking for assignments or protecting a village. I don't know where to best use my skills.”
The woman smiled. “Have you thought about joining the Specialist Program? An Atlas Specialist gets a standard salary month instead of depending on freelance pay. We also have excellent benefits if you get sick or anything else that would make yourself unable to work. Thanks to our intelligence, you know the place you are assigned to is the best place for you to help. Just ask your teacher about the program and they will inform you about the possibilities.” The man raised his thumb. “I will think about it and inform my teacher.”
She groaned as she realized the video started repeating. She was planning to be a specialist, being a freelance huntress wasn't a popular choice for people that wanted to stay in Solitas and preferably around the Atlas/Mantle area. In the military she could show off her skills and make her father proud at the same time.
The video had repeated a few more times. “Have you thought about joining the specialist program-”
The screen turned off, followed by the lights above her focusing on the podium.
She noticed General Ironwood standing in the middle, next to her was Winter Schnee, an Atlas Specialist. Her face had been all in the news years ago, she had relinquished her rights to be an heir and joined the military. She wasn't a fan of the Schnee’s by any means. Her mother’s work often took her to the mines down in the Mantle Crater and the way she described how their workers were treated, horrified her. Many nightmares of her childhood featured the SDC, she did often appear alongside the general but remained quiet.
‘’I hope you all learned from the test. No matter how strong you might be on your own. Against some threats, you have to fight in a team. While I hope you never find yourself being attacked by our robots. Our enemies are constantly evolving and learning. We can’t be comfortable hiding behind our literal walls and the unilateral wall of the cold. Grimm, criminals, terrorists and many others want nothing more than Atlas and Mantle to burn. Only together with your peers can you stop them. As you may have learned before, you will be teamed with 3 of your peers. Decided by your performance and your application forms. I will hereby announce the teams.
A woman with blue hair and gray eyes appeared on the screen
Sonia van Oranjeburg
A man with light greenish hair and yellow eyes next to her
Florian Verdier
A woman with black hair to her shoulders and fiery red eyes next to him.
Cinder Rhodes
A man with short black hair, hazel eyes and freckles next to her.
Oscar Pine
You four will form Team SFRO or Saffron. Led by Sonia van Oranjeburg.’’
People around Neon clapped as she did the same. Various other teams formed, she was starting to get impatient. Most of the people on the screen were those she didn’t know. Some she only knew from the preparatory school. Finally she heard a name and saw a face she actually had talked to.
A woman with orange hair and green eyes appeared on the screen.
Penny Polendina.
Another woman appeared with dark teal hair to her neck, blue eyes and a yellow bind on her forehead.
Ciel Soleil.
A man appeared wearing a dark fedora with a blue trim, with dark brown eyes almost underneath his sunglasses.
Flynt Coal
And then she saw her own picture.
Neon Katt
You four will form Team PCFN or Puffin. Led by Penny Polendina.’’
Penny seemed like a fun person to know, she didn’t know what to think of the fedora wearing man though she audibly groaned upon seeing Ciel. She really had to spend four years with her? She would be the type to snitch on whatever she could. She had been prepared to at least follow the rules on the surface but in their dorm room too? Groan
‘’That was the last one. Feel free to socialize with your new team members and to use the facilities. There is a strict curfew of 8PM. Your leader will be informed where your dorm assignment is and the rules of your stay here.’’ The general said before he walked off the podium.
Chaos formed as people started to try and find their team members. Standing up from her seat, Neon looked around , hoping to lock eyes with one of them. She was about to be annoyed when she felt someone poke her shoulder from behind. Upon turning around she saw that it was Penny. ‘’Salutations Neon! It’s so good to see you again! Ciel and Flynt are awaiting us. Come with me!’’ She said pointing towards a corner and pulling her sleeve. The woman was surprisingly strong from her appearance. Neon struggled to stay in balance as Penny manoeuvred around the other students. She was impressed by how she had managed to find her so quickly
In the corner stood Ciel with her arms crossed talking to Flynt. ‘’Hello, I have returned with Neon!’’ Ciel glanced at her before sighing. ‘’We all should probably introduce each other then. Penny you know what to do right?’’
She nodded with a smile. ‘’Yes my name is Penny Polendina. I'm 17 years old and I come from Mantle, i.. i dont have many hobbies but i'm excited to learn and to get to know all of you.’’
Ciel nodded, ‘’My name is Ciel Soleil. I'm 21 years old and I come from Atlas. Usually I spend my time reading, studying or training. The Atlas Military has been a constant presence in my family and I'm honoured to continue it.’’ She said proudly
‘’Are you 21? That's the oldest that they allow students, right? What made you want to join so late?’’ Neon asked curiously Ciel’s eyes quickly looked towards the wall behind Neon. ‘’I had.. difficulties in preparatory school. Don’t worry now however though, I will be a reliable part of the team.
That was the woman that was giving her attitude? The one that likely had needed to repeat her year multiple times? ‘’Well my name is Neon! I'm 18 years old and I come from Steelspire Heights in Mantle. I really like to skate, dance and party as much as i can!’’ Neon said as she turned around and showed off her outfit. ‘’You are so cute Neon! Could you teach me how to dress up like that sometimes? I would love to get my nails done and to-’’ Ciel cleared her throat, Penny looked to her and stopped talking with an annoyed frown,
‘’I like your attitude Penny, my name is Flynt Coal. I'm 19 and I come from Mantle as well. My passion is anything related to music. I play trumpet in my free time but often I'm.. Well, I was too busy helping my father run his dust shop. He convinced me to become a huntsman and well.. here i'm.’’
‘’Thank you Flynt. I didn’t expect to be chosen as a leader but I guess I have to make do! According to the document we have been given by the faculty, it would be best if we did something fun so we can know each other better! Since we will be expected to fight together, we should discuss our combat styles, semblances, aura and how we can best combine them. It might be a fun exercise if we went to the library.’’
Neon jumped in between the three of them. ‘’Or we can go to the training room and spar with each other. I don’t know about you guys but i'm more than eager to see how strong you all are.’’ She glanced at Ciel. ‘’I will warn you my semblance is pretty powerful so don’t go crying if i knock you down.’’
‘’I do agree it would be a good exercise. Let’s go before any others get the same idea. I don’t want to be late and come into trouble with the curfew.’’ Ciel said as she looked at her watch.
The four of them moved to the training hall and after changing and grabbing their weapons. Stood in the middle of the room.
Neon was already making circles around the group. Using her semblance to give herself more momentum. “See guys? This is what my semblance is all about. It allows me to go wherever I want on the battlefield within an instant.” She started to make fancy figures around them. “How about it Ciel? I don't know what kind of rifle that is but try to fight me. I promise I will take it easy on you.” Her teammate inspected the stock on her rifle. “So be it.”
Neon saw Ciel standing for a second before seemingly disappearing. She was about to turn her head when something as bright as the sun activated in front of her. She put up her aura to protect her eyes, she fell down on the ground. “What the hell? What did you do!?” She said as the whole world around her felt white and unstable. She felt someone grab her wrist and pull her up to her feet. After a few more seconds, her eyes had cleared and she could see Ciel with a small grin. “I'm leaving it up to you to figure it out.” She looked at Flynt who smirked. Oh she was going to find out whatever Ciel had been hiding.
“Now then, Penny, why don't you show your weapons and your semblance? I'm sure that with your Polarity that Neon is in for a challenge.’’
“Yes I would love to do so! Please let me know if I go too far, Neon.” Who responded by sticking her tongue out. “Bring it on.” She said after she started picking up her speed skating. She could see something popping out of Penny’s backpack. 6 small daggers came out of it, being connected to the backpack by small metal cables. The daggers rapidly followed her. As Neon swerved around them to try and get a view at Penny who was standing neutrally. Watching the chaos ensue. She cracked her Nunchaku and hit 2 of the daggers. They were surrounded by ice and fell to the ground. The remaining daggers quickly rammed into the ice, causing them all to be free again. Neon used her semblance to speed with all that she had to Penny. The woman gave a small smile, she prepared her Nunchaku and prepared to strike, when Penny took a step forward and kicked her. She missed obviously but the image of a woman like Penny going for melee was such a surprise that Neon became unstable and fell to the ground. The daggers of Penny landing next to her.
“That was so much fun, Neon! Thank you for allowing me to show what I'm capable of.” She said as she daggers retracted back into her backpack. “Those daggers of yours are unforgiving.. Did you use your semblance or something?”
Ciel cleared her throat. “Her semblance is Polarity. It allows her to control the metal in the daggers and the wires that are attached towards it.” Penny looked conflicted for a moment.
The three women looked at Flynt. “I believe it's your turn now.” Said Neon, “I don't know how you can use your trumpet to fight but it's a show I would love to watch. Don't think I have any ear plugs with me so you better make it good. How about we let you have the first shot?”
Flynt turned the brim of his fedora and walked backwards towards a corner. “Enjoy the show then.” He brought the trumpet to his mouth. All three looked at him with curiosity. He brought it to his mouth, but when the first note played, it wasn't like anything Neon was expecting.
A gigantic sound wave hit her and her 2 companions as they were thrown back into the room. She hissed from the pain as she hit the ground. Ciel tumbled the same way though, it almost caused Neon to smile. Penny crouched on the ground and activated her semblance. Causing 8 daggers to go out of her backpack and to move towards Flynt. They seemed to struggle in the sound wave yet came closer to Flynt who didn’t seem bothered by them. When it only had about 2 metres left to go. Flynt smirked and Neon could see him shift into 3 more copies of himself. The sound wave increased gigantically, Neon skated backwards to avoid it. The soundwaves were making it difficult to see Flynt as each different one was a different colour. Ciel started aiming down the barrel of her rifle and started firing though either missed or was ineffective since it didn’t seem to affect Flynt.
‘’What the hell kind of a semblance is that.’’ Neon said with a smile on her face.
Penny’s daggers returned towards her with full force. She threw the daggers to the side, still comfortably outside of the range of Neon though she was incredibly fast with them. They returned to her backpack. After a single second. 2 bigger daggers popped out of it again. Penny stepped towards Flynt, despite Neon having to protect her hearing with her aura, Penny did not seem to be bothered. Once she was in the direct range of the soundwaves. She used the daggers to stab into the floor and seemingly reeling herself in with them. The sight of her started becoming wavy because of the sound waves.
She didn’t know who to root for. Both her and Ciel just were watching like it was a show. The trumpet sound suddenly sounded high and the sound waves stopped. When her sight had cleared she could see Penny and Flynt fighting each other. Flynt was firing at her, using his trumpet like a pistol as he fired bullets out of them. In response, Penny was wielding multiple daggers, using them like a shield as they rapidly shifted around each other in a circle. Penny moved forward with one step and used her shield like a frisbee. Hitting Flynt and causing him to fall on the ground. Before the two could fight on however, Ciel stepped forwards.
‘’It’s almost 6 pm. We really need to go to the cafeteria. I believe you and I have an appointment Penny, let’s meet Neon and Flynt back at our dorms okay?’’ She said, looking towards her with a frown. Neon was really curious about what kind of friendship they had, Penny was supposed to be their leader but Ciel seemed to take that away from her and she accepted it without any resistance. ‘’Right.. I will see you in our dorms.’’ Penny said as she helped Flynt stand.
‘’Oh come on, it was getting exciting, Ciel! What kind of thing is so important that it can’t wait for a few more minutes. It’s our first day as a team! Don’t be such a stick in the mud.’’ The two of them didn’t say anything as they walked towards the entrance.
