Amy looked over at her hammer as she finished reading over the Restoration's mission, a grin appearing on her face.
Eggman had apparently started a fighting ring not so far from her location, and has been capturing anyone who reaches his so-called "World Champ"- And the Restoration thought Amy to be just the perfect pick to deal with them.
"And they're right." Amy said to herself as she picked up her hammer, spinning it around before hitting it against the ground,
…
Then begrudgingly dropping it as she arrived at the ring.
"No 'unlicensed gear'!? Seriously!?" She yelled at the employee- Who, she would feel bad for, if it wasn't for the fact they were so blatantly a poorly-built robot made to seem like a mobian.
"O-ov-er ther-e. Licensed egg-ma-n g-ear." The employee spoke, their voice made of the clipped words of actual people to make a barely-comprehensible mess. Hell, Marine did it better with her joke videos.
Amy sighed as she looked over to the pile of boxing gloves, each adorned with an Eggman Empire logo.
"These better not have any built-in traps…" She muttered to herself, frustrated, as she squished the gloves in her hands, before putting them on.
Amy sat down at a nearby bench as she waited for her round to start, scanning over the different fighters and their weapons- All far more… murderous than hers, and adorned with the same stupid logo.
She considered making small talk, get these fighters to leave this trap ASAP, but judging by their outfits, and what she could overhear…they didn't seem to be keen on leaving. Or believing anyone else involved in the fight, actually- Everything she'd overhear was ranting about lying opponents.
Plus…just in case Eggman was watching a project like this, Amy thought it might be best to lay low 'til she can meet his world champion.
"Champion of what?" Amy muttered to herself. "Ugly robots?"
And almost as if it was interrupting her quiet jab at Eggman, Amy heard a loud voice over the speakers.
She'd been called to the ring.
"Ah, shoot-" Amy said as she quickly stood, running over to her opponent.
A yellow-furred cat with black hair and an, admittedly very pretty, red dress.
They almost looked familiar to her.
Yet…no weapons. Guess I'm not the only one handicappe- Amy thought to herself, before…
…Claws. Shooting out of the cat's gloves. Each claw decorated with an Eggman Empire logo.
"Dangit!" Amy said under her breath- More mad about the ugly logo than her opponent's weapons- as the fight began to start, counting down…

And Amy went for a full swing to the cat's face-
Ah.
There goes some teeth.
This was going to be easy.
"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh." Amy winced. "nooooo. I am, so sorry-" She spoke, her words unheard as her opponent's ears were ringing,
The poor kitty lying on the floor and spitting up a bit of blood.
"Do you need any bandages? I can try and find some around her-" Amy continued as she kneeled down to the cat's level , a loud "KOOOOOOO!" from the speakers talking over her.
…Similar events proceeding for her next few rounds.
Out,
Out,
Out,
Surrendered,
Out,
All her fights were done seconds after the countdown finished. A grisly, unamusing sight, to say the least-
Leaving only the champion left to fight.
The ring was empty, her opponent nowhere to be seen, as Amy waited for someone to walk up.
…A familiar face then dropping down from above.
"…Metal!? What, what are you doing here!? I thought you…" She said, deeply confused- She'd thought Metal had left Eggman long ago. She thought she was redeemed, now-
But she wasn't left much time to think on it, as the countdown went far faster than any other match-
Rigged, leaving Metal enough time to attempt the first hit, Amy narrowly dodging her razor-sharp claws.
Amy shook her head as she tried to refocus on the fight, sweating.
She expected it to be just a regular badnik. Maybe one of Clutch's goons. Hell, maybe even someone like Surge and Kit, but Metal?
Amy swung at the robot's chest, leaving a hefty dent and throwing her to the floor a little across the ring.
Metal was the last person she'd expect.
Amy threw off her gloves as she raised her fists into a guard, knowing Metal would never go down just from that. She'd never be defeated that fast.
..And Amy proved herself right, as Metal used her thrusters to launch herself towards Amy,
More than prepared enough to narrowly dodge her dash, grabbing onto Metal's back as to send them both flying into a nearby wall.
Leaving Metal briefly supine, just long enough for Amy to pin her against the wall- Digging her hands into the robot's shoulders to keep her grip.
"Why. Why did you go back? I- I can help you again, I swear I won't let them destroy y…" Amy tried to speak, only to notice Metal making a strange, garbling sound.
…
Oh.
It was laughing. She was laughing.
Amy's expression grew horrified- That, or just pissed. It was hard to tell.
She stared at Metal's dead, red eyes as the robot laughed, for a moment.
And then she chuckled. "God." And reared her head back,
headbutting full-force into Metal's visor.
"Eurghhh. That hurt." She said, smiling, as her head struck Metal's reinforced visor, leaving a slight crack as her own forehead gained a couple small cuts.
And she did it again.
And again.
"It's almost like a kiss, huh?"
And again.
"Remember? The last thing we did before you left? When I thought you were going to be better than this?"
And again.
"We kissed."
And again.
"…And it meant nothing." Amy started panting as she started to feel lightheaded, staring at Metal's now-glitchy cracked visor. Guess the cuts from all the headbutting was getting to her,
And Metal took advantage of that-
Activating her thrusters just as Amy seemed weak enough to not notice her fighting back, launching the duo back into the ring- Amy falling prone with a loud crack noise as she tried to catch her breath,
Metal approaching with what sounded like a heavier stomp every step…
And Amy's heart was beating so fast, as she tried to gather herself.
As much as she hated to admit it, she… liked it when Metal was like this, sometimes, when they fought.
She couldn't tell whether it was just adrenaline, or love- But it was fun.
Metal went to kick her while she's down, spiked boot aiming for her head as she rolled out of the way just in time-
Oh yeah. Definitely love.
Amy jumped to her feet, a large, excited smile on her face as she went for another strike, blood dripping from her now-broken nose-
The two exchanging blows for far longer than they should've- Like it was a game, and not a mission for the both of them-
Until Amy landed a final punch into Metal's chest, the robot stumbling back as Amy waited for her to strike back,
"Your turn!" She chuckled.
…Only for Metal to fall to her knees, as if she had given up-
Causing Amy to lower her fists from her guard, her smile fading.
"…Shoot, Metal-" She muttered as she began to realize just how much damage she'd caused to Metal,
…And what Metal would surely face when she returned to Eggman, as her visor glitched out, showing her own interface overlapping with her eyes.
She was entering a mission status.
It was going to be a failure.
…Amy paused, thinking for the briefest of moments-
Before impulsively hitting herself in the face, knocking one of her own teeth out.
"Oh noooo!"
"You got me." She said as she spat out her bloody tooth, landing at Metal's feet.
And Metal paused entering her mission status.
"Looks like I gotta flee. Injuries are all too much- Almost killing one of Sonic's friends!" Amy winked, walking out of the ring and picking up her hammer.
…
And as she made her way through the exit door she'd very benevolently added for no fee...with her hammer, she looked back at Metal, holding her tooth.
"Keep it. A little memory- You can give it back next time."
