Work Text:

It was a normal morning before school, Ace jumped up out of his bed. Feeling entergetic to see his best friends, Dragon, Purple, and Sixty. He had always favoured Dragon most, most likely because he had met Dragon first. But it felt like there was something more than just a friendship between them, a connection. Something always drew Ace more to Dragon. He wondered if Dragon felt the same feeling.
Ace thought for a second about it, then realized he needed to finish getting ready for school. The white haired boy lazily tossed on his usual pair of clothes, consisting of an orange shirt and a black and orange leather jacket. He yawned as he went to go brush his hair, grabbing a plastic tacky comb for his hair. He ran the bristles through his hair, wishing it was Dragon running his digits through Ace's hair. Oh geez, was Ace inlove? No, that can't be true. Dragon would never like him back...

He peeked outside his window, Oh! His bus is here, gotta hurry! He sprinted to the door, his shoes hitting the floor hard. Ace opened the door, seeing the school bus was waiting for him. He sheepishly walked inside the bus, looking for a free seat. Lucky for him, Dragon was waving his hand towards Ace, and pointing at the seat next to him. Ace gave him a nervous wink, before waddling forward and plopping down next to his dearest friend.
"I'm so sleepy, Dragon... Could I just, rest my head on your shoulder?" Ace giggled, while Dragon sighed before agreeing. He wasn't wearing his helmet like usually, instead just letting his hair free. He layed his head on Dragon's shoulder, making them closer than before. Ace could hear his friend's gentle heartbeat, trying to ignore Sixty laughing at the sight. Was Dragon embarrassed to be seen with him? Ace worried, that couldn't be the case. Dragon placed his arm around the other boy's body, they are so glad they haven't been hatecrimed yet for being close. Ace was about to actually drift off to sleep, before a large bump shook him awake.
"Huh- Wha- Oh," Ace questioned what just happened, then shortly realizing there was a bump. It made Dragon let out a chuckle, seeing him all confused. The bus abruptly came to a stop, letting everyone off it. Ace, Dragon, Purple, and Sixty all grouped up as soon as they got off, they walked to the big school building, dreading annoying work. Atleast it was early dismissal today. Purple was infront of everyone else, making her being the one holding the door for her friends. Did she have to do that? No, but it's a kind thing to do.

When they got inside they eventually split up, Ace with Dragon, and Sixty with Purple. Ace shyly followed around Dragon to class like a lost puppy, they slowly entered the classroom together, just wanting to get to the end of the day already. Ace and Dragon sat down in their seats, waiting for whatever lecture they were going to hear.

Ace had basically been spaced out the whole day, all he wanted to do was be with Dragon. Ace was inlove? Wasn't he. He didn't care what names people would call him for that, or how much bullying he would probably be put through. So what if he liked a boy? There should be nothing wrong with love. He planned to tell him today, now that he learned he loved him. Ace thinks of himself as a dork in a way, how could he not have known? He wants to tell Dragon in person, he thinks while grabbing his phone to call Dragon's number. The sound of something like humming could be heard, Ace was too lazy to change his ringtone. Dragon had picked up almost immediatly,
"Hey Ace, what's up?" Dragon inquiries,
"Can I comeover today, mayyybee?" Ace cheekily asks, you could picture the grin on his face while he was saying that.
"Of course!" His friend replies, making Ace happily kick his feet.
"Okay, I'll be there soon!" Ace says, hanging up right after. His giddyness almost completely washed away when he thought, What if Dragon doesn't like me like that? But he swallowed his thought, fearing rejection is normal. He threw his shoes and jacket back on, before heading out the door. Dragon lived basically across the street, making his walk stupidly short. Ace eventually came to his house, and banged on the front door. He saw the door slowly turn open, seeing the boy of his dreams appear right infront of him. Ace had let himself in, running up to Dragon's room where they would usually hang out. Ace took a seat on the edge of his crush's bed, waiting for Dragon to come in.
"S-So.. Uhm, well, there is something I just discovered about myself and thought well, uhh, I should tell you," Ace stuttered, his face slightly changing to a more warmer tone.
"Okay, okay, spit it out Acey," Dragon replied, trying to soothe Ace's nerves, but the petname only made Ace get even more nervous.
"I feel like, how do I say this, uhm so.. You've been my bestest friend for a couple years, and I adore you a ton, and I would love if you could be my boyfriend? Youdon'thavetosayyesImea-" Ace's words trailed off, the last part he said as fast as he could, he was so nervous.
Dragon giggled, before saying, "I love you too, honey! You're kind of cute when you're nervous hehe.." Ace brought his now lover into a tight embrace, before smacking his lips against the others. Dragon was shocked, flustered, and extremely euphoric. The kiss that lasted only a few seconds, felt like fireworks blasting, like everything was in slow motion. After they pulled apart, Ace flopped onto his boyfriend, deciding to take a nap on him.
