The doctor was standing around in the console room staring at the tall bookshelfs. He had just returned from his latest trip to earth, he went to watch a play but in the meantime someone stole the TARDIS and tried to auction her off. Luckly he got her back and after some minor repairs the old girl was as good as new. He's been meaning to re organize his books for a long time now and the doctor was glad he remembered to do it for once. A considerable amount of time must have passed since he'd started, it was always hard to tell in a time machine, he wasn't even halfway done when a bunch of loud noises and sparks from in and around the console snapped him out of his concentration. The doctor instantly darted towards the console.
The old TV monitor screen was glitching all over the place, he couldn't make out a single letter. He was sure he had double checked everything when he made the repairs, so what could possibly be causing all of this? Whatever was happening it was seemingly getting worst by the second. The TARDIS began to shake.
''Oh no, no, no, no, no..!'' The doctor mumbled, frantically pressing every button and flipping every swich he thought would help but nothing did. It was like someone was trying to control the TARDIS and she was fighting against it. The thought horrified him and he froze, hands gripping the edge of the console tight. Who or what could it be? The time lords, for starters. No, it couldn't be them, he hadn't heard so much as a psychic peep from them in a long time and popping to earth to watch a play hardly broke the laws of time. No, it had to be something else.
The great intelligence? Or the daleks, perhaps? Almost anything was possible. His hearts were beating rapidly as he tried to narrow it down to one possibility, when the TARDIS suddenly shook violently and it sent the doctor flying back against the tall bookselfs. The carefully arranged books tumbled off and a few of them landed on the doctor's head. He tried to get up but the TARDIS was shaking so intensely he couldn't even stand straight for one second, he fell right back down. Furniture, books and all sorts of things were flying around the spacious console room, even more objects hit him on the head and the doctor could do nothing but lay there and panic as his vision slowly went dark.

When he regained consciousness he found himself still in the TARDIS. The doctor desperately hoped she wasn't too damaged. How much time could've passes since he blacked out? He couldn't say for sure. He slowly stood up and stumbled out of the TARDIS. He looked around and when his eyes adjusted to the light he realized this place felt somewhat familliar. After a few moments it finally clicked! He had spend a considerable amount of time here once in his previous body but he couldn't recall the name of the planet. The doctor knew, however, that it was a very beautiful world full of life and friendly people. It looked so, so much different now.
Everything that was once bright shades of purple and blue now looked dull and grey, the beautiful meadows and forests very gone, save for a few trees and bushes here and there. He stared in horror at the mountains that looked over the land, they had a few sizeable holes in them that made it look as if someone had taken bites out of them. A shiver ran down the doctor's spine that shook his entire body. He needed to find out what happend here and who caused it.
The doctor looked around. Mining equipment was scattered around everywhere, the larger machines towered over him by atleast 6 meters. He looked to the town by the mountain. It was quite average sized, nothing unusual except for one building near the edge of the town. It looked out of place, like it didn't belong there. It seemed like whoever made it had never been here before so they tried to copy the other buildings, but they couldn't get it exactly right. He gave himself no more time to dwell in it and quickly started walking towards the town. The doctor was happy to see the few trees, thought dull and greyish like everything else atleast there was life. It didn't take the doctor long to reach the town but what he found made his concern grown even more.
The town looked almost deserted except for a couple signs of life in the form of a car or two, his chest tightened. Despite how everything appeared, the doctor couldn't shake the feeling that something or someone was watching him. It happend so often he was almost used to it by now, but there was something about this occasion that made all the warning sensors go wild. He made a point to ignore it and continued walking around, though subtly glancing behind himself at every opportunity. The doctor had almost reached the out-of-place building when suddenly there was a sharp pain in the back of his head and everything went dark once more.
When he came round eventually, he had the most dreadful headache he's had in millenia, he thought he would instantly pass out again. The doctor tried to breathed deeply hoping for the opposite. He was very glad when he found that the feeling was temporary and it went away almost as soon as it arrived. Now that he was rid of that dreadful headace, the doctor could take in his surroundings properly. He was in a black and grey, dimly lit room and was lying on a hard surface. He realized also that he'd been stripped of his beloved green velvet coat and the top three buttons of his shirt had been unbuttoned! Atleast he still had his shoes. With a low groan the doctor turned his head and his eyes widened in horror.
On the other side of the room stood a man in a long leather coat, his back turned to him. He seemed to be occupied with something but he didn't need to turn around for the doctor to know who he was. Of course it was the master! He tried to sit up quickly but it proved considerably harder than expected and he groaned in pain. The master turned his head and smirked.
''I wouldn't do that if I were you.'' He started, fully turning to face him and away from whatever he was doing. The doctor's eyes narrowed accusingly.
''What have you done to me? and What are you up to this time?'' He growled, finally able to lift his head and move his arms just a bit.
''Nothing, yet. You were knocked out for longer than I expected, and here I was thinking you'd be able to handle a simple blow to the head.'' His smirk widened as he spoke and the doctor became aware that something was very very wrong, much worst than he initially thought. The master looked mostly the same, leather coat, green glowing eyes, greying black hair that was a touch longer than the last time he'd seen him, a white dress shirt with embroidery all over it and the two of the top buttons loose. The most worrying difference was two of his teeth, which seemed longer than they should've been. They looked like fangs. They were fangs.
''You haven't answered my question, what are you up to?'' He said in the most hateful tone he could muster in his current state. The master shot him a disgusted look and stepped closer. Thankfully it was easier to move now and he sat up. He judged it better not to move too much yet.
''I'm trying to keep this dreadful body alive.'' He snarled, his fangs visible for just a split second. The doctor look at him, even more horrified than before.
''And your best option was vampirism?'' He frowned and looked the master up and down. ''Did you even think before you resorted to this?'' There was just the slightest hint of concern in the doctor's tone but it was hidden under layers of loathing.
''Desperate times call for desperate mesures, doctor.'' The master spat, venom dripping from his voice. ''It's not ideal, but atleast I'm not falling apart.'' His eyes were fixed on the doctor.
''You had me believe you solved that problem long ago.'' The doctor smirked. He pulled one of his legs up in front of himself casually. The master's eye twiched but he composed himself and tried to speak in an unbothered tone.
''Those were all temporary solutions.'' He smiled wider. ''This one, doctor, will be permanent.''
The doctor's brows furrowed again, this time in disgust. ''And how will destorying a planet help with that? Or did you just cause all that outside for fun?'' As he was speaking he got off the table and stood in place confidently.
''No. Not this time. This planet has something else I need and if getting it comes with a few side effects for them or anyone else that's not my problem.'' He shrugged and the reality of why the master brought him here was finally begining to dawn on him.
''And the reason I'm here is because you're missing one other thing. Knowing you the blood of whatever life form is left on this planet isn't good enough, you need time lord blood. My blood.'' The doctor smirked. ''What if I escape? What will you do then?''
The master was about to open his mouth but the doctor was quicker. ''Then you will have gone through all of this for nothing. You will have wasted all this time seeking out a vampire, turning into one, finding a suitable world for whatever despicable reason you need it for, getting me here and you'll have failed again.'' Before he could throw another insultant remark at the master, he grabbed the doctor by his shoulders and threw him against the nearby wall. The doctor hissed as his head hit the wall with a loud bang, it swayed from side to side as he lifted it back up. He had a clear view of the door from here. The master walked closer and the doctor jumped back up to his feet quickly. The master grabbed his neck with both hands and attempted to wresle him to the floor but the doctor kicked him in the ribs and tried to make his way to the console. But the master grabbed a hold of his long curly hair and dragged him back. The doctor groaned and spun around to punch the master in the nose. The master hissed in pain and blood rapidly started oozing out of his nose, he loosened his grip on the doctor's hair. The doctor wasted no time he showed the master away but just before he was about to flick the door opening swich on the console, the master grabbed him and yanked him back hard, throwing him into the wall and making him hit his head again.
It was a challenge to get back up this time. When he came to his senses the master was already crouching in front of him, holding a fistfull his hair to tilt his head to the side and leaning into his neck. The doctor wanted to free himself but before he could do anything at all the master gripped his shoulders tighter and slowly sank his fangs into the side of his neck.
The doctor yeldep in pain as the two fangs slowly pierced his flesh. It was like being stabbed with two rusty nails, the fresh wound already felt like it was on fire. He felt as though the master was deliberately biting him slowly, restraining himself as best as he could just to cause that much more pain. His lips felt dry on the doctor's skin. The master gave the wound a small lick, as if to taunt him. This took the doctor by surprise and when at the same moment he pushed the master's shoulders so he'd stumble back it was a weaker push than he'd planned. The master's let go of the doctor's hair and went to hold his other shoulder to the wall also as he drank every drop of blood that poured out of the wound. The master was panting heavily and the doctor could feel his hot breath on his neck. He was getting dizzy but he musn't let that stop him. He clawed at the master's arms but to that the master just nipped the wound again to make it bleed even more, producing a hiss from the doctor and a chuckle from the master. But the sudden sting of pain made the doctor come back to his senses, he kneed the master in the stomach and finally pushed him off. The master tumbled backwards with a groan. The doctor got up as fast as he could manage before the master could do the same, and wobbled over to the console.
Blood continued pouring from the wound down his neck, staining his shirt and dripping onto the floor. His blurry vision prevented him from seeing the console properly, he had to think fast! Before he could reach for one of the switches however the master had scrambled off the floor and made his way towards him. He grabbed the doctor and sank his fangs into his shoulder, he was almost hugging the doctor to himself. The doctor yelped in pain and kicked the master in the legs repeatedly, but he wouldn't buge. The master just kept licking the blood from around his wound and holding him with all the strenght he had. The doctor attempted to raise his arm just enough to reach back and pull the master's head away, but he couldn't. The master shifted his hold and was now digging his nails into the side of the doctor's arm, desperate to hold on. Luckly the doctor was finally able to lift his leg up just enough to give him another round of kicks in the stomach, to which he let go of the doctor and fell backwards while mumbling a mountain of incomprehensible insults.
The doctor also tumbled forward into the console and frantically flicked all the switches and pressed all the buttons he could make out. The entire right side of his upper body felt like it was on fire, he could barely move his arm. He held on to the console for support and turned around just in time to dodge the master who was about to no doubt bite him again. It was now the master who was laying atop the console with his disheveled hair, bruised face, blood flowing out of his nose and blood all over his mouth. The doctor's blood. The master attempted to lift himself up and for a brief moment the doctor could see him lick his lips and he decided it was appropriate to punch him just one more time, and so he did. The punch connected with the master's jaw with a loud crack. The master shouted something the doctor's couldn't quite hear as he fell off the console and back on the floor. The doctor glanced at him one last time before he exited his TARDIS and he himself collapsed onto the hard ground. Moments later he heard the master's TARDIS dematerialize. He smiled internally that his fumbling at the console actually did the right thing. He wasn't sure where the master would end up, but he hoped it was somewhere without any other lifeforms. However that was the least of the doctor's concerns as a great deal of blood was still pouring out of the two bitemarks on his neck and shoulder. He could feel it soaking his shirt even further, he doubted that he or even the TARDIS will be able to get rid of the stain.
''The TARDIS...'' he mumbled, his words slightly slurred. The doctor stood up carefully and pressed a hand to his wounds. He felt like he was gonna collapse any moment and worst of all he could barely see what exactly was in front of him. The way back was dreadful. His body ached tremendously and the fact that he kept hitting walls, fences and the occasional tree with the injured half of his body was just the icing on the universe's worst cake. By the time the doctor made it back to the TARDIS he only had enough strenght left to stumble inside and hear the door close behind him before he collapsed in the middle of the console room.
