Chapter Text
There was a slight chilly breeze lingering in the air. The angel white powder laced around Luna Nova elegantly. The snowflakes twinkled and decorated the school, bringing a welcoming feeling to the magic academy.
“Uh, have you been living under a rock?” Sucy turned to her friend, speaking blank and monotone. Lotte’s voice chimed in. “Headmistress Holbrooke announced that we’ll have a small holiday vacation. We’ll travel back home for a week or two, to stay with our families for a bit.” Sucy, who now had complete focus on her potion, continued to explain. “Yeah, she said that the other professors should take a break.” Sucy snickered. “But I don’t think some professors deserve it. The extra homework has been getting in the way of my newest potions. Teehee…”
Akko immediately hopped up after hearing this news. “Woah! Really? This is awesome!” The cheerful witch could not contain her excitement. Akko jumped up and down in delight. In the process, she shared her warm glee with her orange-haired friend, Lotte. (And.. also probably knocked down some of Sucy’s ingredients… 🤭)
Shaking the whole room while hopping, the three friends heard a knock on their room’s door. Akko approached it and opened it, only to see one of her friends, Diana.
“HELLO, DIANA!!! HOW ARE YOU? I AM SUPER DUPER EXCITED FOR THE HOLIDAYS! AREN’T YOU?” Akko greeted her prestigious and talented friend, Diana Cavendish.
“Hello, Akko!.. I am here to remind you and the others that we will be going for a vacation. And what are you so excited for?” The minty green haired girl interrogated, wondering what her friend was so jumpy for this time. Before the clumsy witch could answer, Diana took a quick guess. “Hm.. Have you already found out we’re having a short holiday vacation?”
“You got it correct! I just can’t WAIT to spend time with my family! I miss them so much!” Akko squeaked. As the jumpy girl spoke, Diana could capture genuine emotion from her friend’s voice. “Hmm, Akko, could I speak privately with you?” Summoned Diana, she had an idea. What if she could have some holiday fun with her friend? It would be a great vacation.
“What is it, Diana?” Akko queried curiously. She wondered what her intelligent friend had to ask during holiday packing.
“Would you like to stay at my estate for the holidays?” Diana blurted out. The way she said it made her seem impulsive, only to herself. Her face was flustered and she was embarrassed. “Sorry, sorry…” Akko stared at her colorful-haired friend, puzzled. “Um, what..?” The energetic witch asked, why was Diana apologizing? “Nonononono, you don't have to come! You can go visit your family!” Akko immediately jumped up again. “WAIT! I WANNA COME! YOUR HOUSE IS SO GINORMOUS AND COOL!” Akko complimented, thrilled. Diana giggled. “Oh! Okay, well, start packing now! The headmistress said that everyone traveling leaves tomorrow.” Diana notified, heading out to the hallways. “Goodbye, Akko!” “See ya!”
Akko came into her room and told her friends she’s visiting Diana’s mansion for the holiday break.
“Akko, maybe you shouldn’t go.” Lotte warned. “Remember last time? You tried baking with Diana and-” Sucy chuckled. She predicted that something was going to happen that day, so she brought one of her test animals that replayed anything it saw. “Perfect time…” The pale witch smirked. “I have the recording on the crystal ball now… Hehe…” Sucy played the recording and showed it to her friend. “Ugh! Suuuuucyyy! Now is not the time! I have to pack up!”
That reminded her friends, so they got up and started to pack their suitcases, ready to meet their families they haven’t seen in a while. “Aww, I’m just so excited for this!” Akko eagerly announced. “Also, Lotte, I’ll be sure to not cause a mess in their mansion.” Akko confidently reassured while attempting to zip up her humongous pastel blue suitcase. After successfully closing her suitcase, the brunette witch did a little dance of accomplishment. The other girls had just finished getting their things ready for tomorrow. It was now noon. Akko had nothing to do. There were no classes right now, no tests to fail.
Sucy could tell Akko was exhausted and bored. “Hey, Akko. Can you be my test experiment for right now? It will be quick. I promise. Hehe!..”
