Work Header

Aggressively Supportive

Summary:

They didn’t know how prideful Bakugou is of their class.

Nor did they know just how crass, shameless, and carefree Bakugou is with what he says.

This leads to something…they wouldn’t exactly call problems.

Notes:

I hope you all enjoy this!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Bakugou has always reacted to insults no matter what kind. Whether they were directed to him or not. Doesn’t matter, he’ll respond back tenfold.

The class has slowly figured out he responds to insults in two ways, and two ways only.

One: screeched yelling, either insulting them back or spewing curse words that would have someone’s mother clutching their pearls. Both come with a blast or two to the face, non-refundable.

Or two: He proves them wrong. Plus the banshee yelling.

The class has quickly come to learn that Bakugou will almost always prove insults wrong, whether right then and there or in due time. They noticed that if it’s an insult he can’t outright prove wrong, he defaults to the yelling and curse words.

It’s come in their favor plenty of times.

Everyone knows it. The class knows it. Bakugou knows it. They love using this to their advantage whenever they want something from Bakugou.

Doesn’t want to make dinner? Well, he must not be a good cook anyway…

Doesn’t want to hang out with the designated Baku-squad during the weekend? What is he? A chicken?

No horror movies? He must be a scaredy-cat.

It’s always fun to see how far they can go with these comments. And Bakugou knows they enjoy the little banter, and just simply obliges most of the time. It’s not like it hurts him, he gets to proudly brag and show off to everyone and they get whatever silly thing they ask for, overall, it’s a win win.

They just didn’t know how shameless and carefree Bakugou truly is about all of this.

Nor did they know how prideful Bakugou is of their class.

Which leads to their current situation—if you could even call it that—in the common room.

“You’re a fucking delight. So don’t let those assholes put you down!”

Currently, most of the class was sitting in the common room playing games and chatting away. Quietly on the couch, Mina and Jirou were talking. With Mina consoling Jirou, as Jirou talked about some boys making fun of her on her weekend out.

She was still talking when Bakugou got up from his lounging spot and strode towards them, a murderous gleam in his eyes. The other students had jumped and paused what they were doing when they heard him start shouting at the two.

Though it wasn’t the usual ‘die’ or ‘go to hell’

This time, he was screaming compliments at her.

“They’re just mindless idiots! Tomorrow, you’re gonna save some ass while they sit on their ass!” he yelled. Jirou looked completely startled at his yelling, yet felt her face flush a little by the compliments.

“Yeah! Listen to Bakugou!” Mina said, hyping her up.

“They’re just jealous of you Earmuffs! ‘Cause you can find a girlfriend faster than they can!” he shouted. Jirou felt like that statement had a tone to it, almost like Bakugou was proud of her. For some reason…

Jirou’s face turned red in response, wailing in embarrassment as she covered her face to avoid looking at the wide, sinister smile Bakugou gave her as he ‘complimented’ her.

This very event…made way for future events.

One in particular stood out completely.

One, dealing with Uraraka Ochako.

Uraraka sighed, slumping as she walked. She’s not been having a great week. First off, it started raining at the start of the week, making her not only late to class but also wet. Then, her leftovers from a dessert she bought were eaten. Then to top it all off, her work study went terribly that day and was made fun of by others at the agency.

Overall, she was not great. She was ready to fall on the couch in the common room and go to sleep in the presence of everyone. She yawned just thinking about that sweet treat.

As she entered the common room, she noticed that some classmates were there chatting as usual. It consisted of Midoriya, Bakugou, Sero, Iida, and Mina. They paused their conversations when they noticed her drowsy appearance haggle to the couch.

“Hey Uraraka, you alright?” Midoriya asked. She slammed onto the couch next to him face first. He waited for an answer, until he heard a muffled sigh.

“Noooo, I had the worst day today!” she whined, lifting her face up from the cushions. “And to make matters worse, some people at the agency were making fun of me because I failed to catch the villain!” she ranted.

“What?! Those jerks!” Mina scoffed. Sero and Midoriya nodded along.

“You should report them if they were judging you, Uraraka! It's quite unprofessional of them!” Iida suggested.

“Yeah! What did they even make fun of you for?” Mina huffed.

“They said I wasn’t cut out for being a hero if I can’t even catch a mild villain,” Uraraka pouted.

“That’s just a load of crap!” Bakugou snarked as he gave her a hard stare. “They’re just jealous that they’re chicken-shit while you’re in the front lines!”

“I guess, but they have more experience!” Uraraka mentioned.

“Who gives a shit! You can curbstomp them! They obviously don’t have that much experience if they’re in the building and not out there fighting!” he snarked, then he got up and stood in front of her.

“You listen to me round-face, you’re going to get in their faces the next time you see them! You’re gonna tell them off, shit in their face, and brag about how much better you are than those extras!” he demanded, shoving a finger in front of her face.

“Hmm,” Uraraka hummed, sleepiness getting to her now, “tell me more~ how am I better than them~” she whined.

‘More compliments!’

‘She’s totally enjoying this!’ is what everyone else thought.

Bakugou continued, “you’re smarter! Faster! Stronger! Way prettier than those ugly mugs they probably got on!”

“K-Kacchan?!” Midoriya stammered, everyone flabbergasted at what Bakugou said.

“Yeah?” Uraraka murmured, still trying to goad for compliments.

“Yeah! You go and fucking crush them with your thighs! Stomp on their ass!” he exclaimed, gaining shrieks from the other present.

Uraraka, feeling pleased with the compliments, got up from her lounging and sighed happily. “Alright, I feel better, thanks Bakugou! I’ll do just as you said!” she cheered before heading out and back to her room to actually sleep.

Bakugou huffed, proud he got it through her thick skull and sat back down. He noticed however, that the room was awfully quiet; so he looked up to see everyone giving him an appalled face.

“What?” he demanded.

“Y-You just-!” Midoriya stammered, face as red as a strawberry.

“Bakugou! That was highly inappropriate for you to say or suggest to our classmate! You must apologize to her in the morning!” Iida shouted firmly, chopping his hands in the air.

Bakugou simply raised a brow at them, as if they were idiots.

“The fuck? I ain’t say shit I don’t mean, I expect her to get on their asses tomorrow,” he said.

“You said for her to–and I quote–crush them with her thighs!” Sero exclaimed.

“Yeah? So what?! Scare them the fuck away!” Bakugou yelled, clearly unaware of what he said–or maybe he did and didn’t care, and was clearly getting agitated.

The group decided to let it go and return silently to whatever they were doing. After all, Uraraka is not actually going to do what he said.

They later find out–that yes indeed–Uraraka did what Bakugou said of her and confronted them at the agency the next day, leading to some paperwork and a stern talking to from Aizawa.

School the day after that consisted of two smug classmates, said classmates being Uraraka and Bakugou.

They really shouldn’t have questioned Bakugou’s pride for the class, or the willingness of the class to follow along with his demands.

Notes:

I hope you enjoyed this! I didn’t really like how it wasn’t fleshed out as much but I didn’t want it to be long so oh well!

But I really hope you guys liked it!
