Work Text:

Jun stared blankly down at the food that had just arrived at their table.

"I've never had Chinese food before," he admitted, not meeting Nathan's eyes.

"This is your time to try it," Nathan said. "Why do you think I took you here?"

"Yes, but like... Is it any good?" Jun poked the meal in front of him.

Nathan watched him poke it a few more times. "It's not going to bite you, Jun."

After another minute or so, Jun finally picked it up and tasted a small amount.

The flavor bursted on his tongue almost instantly, and he instantly adored it. He scarfed down the rest of his food, finishing within moments.

"Seems like it was good," Nathan said, amused, as he finished his own plate.

"I can't believe that I've been missing out on that my entire life," Jun said.

Nathan chuckled, then tossed a fortune cookie at Jun while opening one of his own. "Here, the waiter left us these."

Jun opened his, and as he ate the cookie, he looked at the piece of paper that came within. On the paper were three simple but powerful words: "Take the chance."

Jun looked over at Nathan as the bodyguard cooed over an inspiring quote he got. Jun then looked back down at the paper again.

What if... What if he took the chance, but ruined it all?

What if Nathan didn't love him the same?

"Jun?" Nathan's voice said, snapping the football player back to reality. Nathan was now standing in front of Jun, offering him a hand. "Are you all right? You looked like you zoned out for a moment."

"Yeah, Jun responded, putting his hand in Nathan's and allowing the bodyguard to pull him to his feet.

Jun then looked at Nathan. His eyes were so beautiful, his hair was combed perfectly, and his lips were slightly parted, as if begging Jun to kiss them.

He knew he wouldn't be able to resist the urge, so might as well do it. Might as well take the chance.

He grabbed Nathan by his shirt and pulled him into a rough kiss. At first, Nathan was surprised, but he eventually sunk into the gesture as well.

Jun couldn't believe that this was happening. His heart pounded as his hand touched Nathan's chest, and a shiver of joy made its way up his spine as Nathan brushed his hands through Jun's hair.

And even though Jun didn't want to part from Nathan, he had to, for they both needed to catch their breath. They separated, but leaned their forehead against that of the other.

And as Jun breathed, he looked into Nathan's eyes.

And he knew everything would be wonderful from then on.
