Chapter Text
DogDay had been acting weird all week. Staring into nothing for extended periods of time, randomly growling at something, insisting there was something there when the others saw nothing else. But it all came to a head when, during a sleepover at CatNap's house one dark and stormy night, he started barking at the top of his lungs and baring his teeth at CatNap.
"Dude, what the heck is wrong with you?!" Hoppy demanded as she and Kickin held him back and CatNap shivered at the orange spaniel's furious expression.
"Yeah! What's CatNap done to you?" Bobby scolded in agreement.
"It's not him!" DogDay insisted. "It's what's behind him!"
"There's nothing there!" CatNap cried.
"You sure you've been feeling ok-"
Before Kickin could finish that sentence, he caught a glance at the space between DogDay's ears. In the split second he got, he saw a gigantic shadow looming over the purple cat.
"Day, wait!" Kickin said. "Let me try something."
DogDay calmed a bit, but kept his gaze on and teeth bared at what he was seeing. Grabbing hold of DogDay's ears, Kickin held them up and looked between them. There, he was able to geta more detailed view of the entity, with its most distinguishing feature being a large hand with wire-like fingers ending in needle points like claws. His jaw hung open in sheer terror when he saw that.
"Kickin, this is getting ridiculous." Bubba sighed.
The chicken responded by forcing him to do the same. It was there, he saw the thing that DogDay had been so angry at.
"Holy-"
According to folklore, dogs can see ghosts and you can see them yourself if you get behind a one and look through the space between its ears.
"Hey, CatNap!" Kickin greeted. "How's your new job at the hotel treating you so far?"
CatNap's eyes went wide as he went into a flashback.
Adjusting his new tie and nametag, CatNap smiled as he made his rounds with his clipboard, making sure all the rooms were in order. When he reached Room 201 and opened the door, he saw... everything.
All over the walls, the beds, the floor, the toilet...
"Uh, Naps?" Kickin asked, snapping his fingers in front of his face. "You OK?"
"What has been seen can never be unseen." CatNap squeaked, a single tear streaming down his cheek.
Cats can see ultraviolet.
Resting his head on one hand, Kickin sat idly, bored out of his mind. Nothing to watch, his friends were all preoccupied, this was torture! He sighed heavily as he popped a chicken nugget into his mouth. As he chewed, he turned to us.
"What?"
Chicken can become cannibals out of boredom
Sitting in his favorite chair, Bubba smiled contently as he read his book. Just as he was getting to the juicy part of the story, his nose caught the scent of something. He may be 12 miles away, but he knew that scent anywhere. With a few sniffs, he determined what was available.
"Hm, chocolate? Nah, not in the mood." He muttered. "Caramel swirl? No... Aw man! They're out of butter pecan?! Oh well, I'll just have to settle for Double Dutch. I better hurry; they're running low."
Elephants can smell food from up to 12 miles away and can even determine what it is and how much of it there is
The sun finally shone after three long months. Bobby emerged from her bed, refreshed after her long hibernation. Smiling excitedly she ran up to her window and basked in the warmth of the spring sun.
"Finally!" She sighed in ecstasy. "Spring!"
The first order of business? Bathroom break. It's there she was treated to several minutes of pure bliss.
Bears can recycle their waste and therefore put off going to the bathroom for the entirety of winter
"Better?" Kickin as he laid on his back with Hoppy on top of him.
Crossing her arms and his her face tinged with pink, she glared down at her cast.
"I guess." Be grudgingly admitted as she reluctantly snuggled into his embrace.
After several minutes, Kickin heard something come from Hoppy as she hugged his arm.
"Oh my gosh, are you chattering?" He chuckled.
"Shut up!" She squeaked.
Rabbits chatter their teeth when they're happy
"Where's that music even coming from?!" Hoppy cried as she and the others ran around trying to fund out where that infernal bagpipe music was coming from.
As the group scanned the the area, Bobby spotted someone standing by a tree. She was a bit surprised to find that it was Crafty playing the bagpipes.
"Crafty!" The rest of the group called.
"EEP!" Crafty shrieked as he friends approached her.
"I didn't know you could play bagpipes." DogDay commented.
With her face turning tomato red, she hid her face with the instrument.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" She cried. "I didn't mean to annoy you! I thought was alone! I swear!"
Unicorns are Scotland's national animal
"Picky! You're fired!" Simon growled.
"What? Why?!" She complained.
"You keep eating the truffles you're supposed to bring back!"
"I do not!"
"You're eating one right now!"
Sure enough, Picky was eating one of the truffles. Before she could eat the rest, Simon snatched the basket away from her.
"Forget it!" Simon grumbled. "I already found your replacement."
"Who?" She asked.
"Sorry, Picky." DogDay apologized.
Pigs were once used to find truffles, but were replaced by dogs because they kept eating them
