Work Text:
Naminé felt warm, warmer than she'd ever felt in the years since she gained her own selfhood. Her breath, her thoughts, her pulse- she had to keep reminding herself she had a Heart- were rhythmic, all encompassing, cloudy. Riku's sweet breath was hot above her as she felt things in her body she'd never dreamt of before. She wondered if other women felt this way, so full, so happy as to be overwhelmed during this. But before she could think further, something happened that annihilated all thought. Something amazing, something that she was scared would tear her apart but never did, something like liquid gold or solid light passing through and over her. Coming down from the high she thought Riku must have felt the same - tired and spent he pressed his lips to her lips, forehead and cheeks, tickling her with his stubble, before settling down beside her. He held her gently. "You did so good. So good..." he wiped her cheek. "You ok?" Only then did Naminé realise her tears had fallen. "I think... I think it was just a lot. A lot.. I never... felt so much before."
"It's ok. I'm here for you." Riku held his wife in his arms. "I'm... here for..." Riku began to fall asleep. Naminé smiled, stroking his face so gently he would never wake - before bringing her hand to her stomach. She imagined what new life could be made, what they'd be like. Would they have the childhood she was denied? She promised, then and there:
"Whatever happens, I won't let you ever feel trapped." She wasn't quite sure who she was making that promise to."
