Chapter Text
The chime strikes 8 in the morning at Cadia Riverlands
The breeze, soft and mellow as it brushes against the leaves and grass and—the soft hair of a particular boy..
Zilong had already gotten up early, striking his training spear relentlessly against an unfortunate wooden dummy.
He didn't know how many hours he had spent practicing his blows, but, he was getting bored by the moment.
`Baxia promised he'd train with me today!..that old turtle..`
A small pout emerged on his face as he'd huff and decided he'd take a break, slumping on the log.
"Where could he have gone?..Maybe he ran out of tea leaves?..then again, he's part turtle so he's naturally slow— kh!- ackk!"
BONK
Zilong winced as he rubbed the spot where he had been struck, looking at who could've hit him— Baxia, of course.
"That hurt!"
Zilong huffed, as Baxia merely grumbled.
"I've told you to not speak of your elders that way, Zhao Yun."
Hearing his full name made Zilong halt in whatever he was going to say next. This was serious wasn't it?
"Anyhow. Come with me, young one. Something came up."
Baxia looked back at him as the younger male curiously looked at him, then, trailed behind him.
9 and 30 minutes in the morning.
Zilong had equally grew irritated and curious— just what was so important that they needed to walk almost 2 hours? He could've spent those precious minutes sharpening his skills and growing stronger.
He absent-mindedly bumped into Baxia who had suddenly came to a stop.
"Oi!-"
"Ah, Ling, I apologize for making you wait long."
`Ling? Who?..`
Another envoy or something? Zilong peeked from Baxia's back and—
...
He felt his heart skip a beat.
...
Soft lavender colored hair that flowed with the wind, eyes that embodied purple and grace, and a face that's so beautiful that it nearly knocked Zilong off of his feet.
"Zilong, this is Ling"
Mind blank, thoughts empty..and the only thing that emerged in Zilong's head?
What a suitable name.
