Monday, 5th January, 2026.
The sun had only started rising but it wasn't enough for someone to be able to feel the heat. It was 6 am early in the morning. Her family had just recently moved into this country. They were in America before but now they're in Asia. It was quite hard for them to adapt due to the difference in weather but it wasn't that bad. Her family wasn't that big since it's just her, her mom and her two sisters. One of her sister is older than her by one year and the other one is younger than her by one year. Technically, she's the middle child.
The schools here started earlier than what she had expected, having to wake up before the sun even got up just to shower and prepare herself for school felt like hell. She still felt sleepy. She wasn't ready at all to face a new school, a new environment and also new people. She doesn't even know on how she'd make friends there yet! Too unprepared for this.
She and her sisters were lucky that their house was quite near to the school as it didn't take long for them to get there and they wouldn't have to get confused on which path to take as it's just a few steps away.
Amphoreus Academy
Yeah, that was the name of the school.
Sighing as she realised that she should check her uniform quickly before entering the school. She should've checked it earlier but damn it, better late than never.
Name tag, tie, belt, tidy and complete, OKAY! Good to go. She took one last look at her name tag
Hysilens
At least the school didn't make any mistakes with her name tag. Hysilens greeted the teachers as she got into the school with her siblings. They moved here mid semester of their grade, which was why she disliked it more.
The difference is lessons, even if this school is sort of international and mainly focuses on english… She.. She doesn't know if she can do it with this sudden change of.. everything.
Hysilens took out her phone as she checked the information.
Hysilens, Grade 11, Class B, Level 2
She went up the stairs to level two as she checked the classes name, it felt a bit tiring once she realised that the classes that are nearer to the stairs are grade 10. The classes that are further to the back of the hallway are grade 11 classes. She opened the door and saw that there were only one or two students that are currently in the class. Hysilens looked at the table and saw that there were NAMES stuck onto the chair and table.
The seats are already assigned before I even know the teacher.. She thought to herself before taking a deep breath and placing her bag on her assigned chair as she sat down and scrolled through her phone. She rested her head on her hand while waiting for the class to start. She already had the prepared books in her bag for today's schedule…
"You're Hysilens?"
Hysilens looked up at the blonde girl that was infront of her table. The girl looked at her with a gentle smile as she waited for her answer.
"Yeah.. I'm Hysilens.." She sat up straight as she answered the girl.
"Great, you must be the new kid. You joined at the 2nd semester, so it must be pretty hard to adapt to this environemnt." Hysilens listened as she nodded.
"Well, you can always ask me for help. I'm Aglaea. Class A and B are the classes that are following Science Major. C and D follows Social major." Aglaea explained as she saw that Hysilens was looking at the other class through the window as if checking that it's true before she looks at Aglaea again.
"I'm the Vice President of the Student Council. Cerydra's the president. Me and her are at Class C." She temporarily ended the conversation at that point so that she won't overwhelm the new student.
"The short one..?" Hysilens suddenly asked and Aglaea couldn't help but chuckle and then nodded.
"She may be short but she's very strict. Commanding too."
Hysilens listened as she wondered how adorable it was to see a short person trying to scold other people.
"Class is about to start soon. I'll visit you at Canteen. Oh by the way my two friends are also in the same class as you are. Their names are Castorice and Hyacine." Aglaea spoke out before waving goodbye and exited out the class as she closed the door.
That is the new student!? Aglaea thought as she walked back to her class. She could feel her face warming up and her heart beating faster. She only saw her and she'sfeeling this way.. The blonde woman can't wait for what Hysilens would do to this school.
Meanwhile, Hysilens was still at her desk. She noticed that the class was full of people now. The girl secretly took a glance at the table beside here to see the name of the person.
Hyacine
Hmm? Aglaea's friend is my seatmate, huh.. She thought as she saw that the seat was soon occupied by the owner.
The girl seemed to have put her bag down before facing Hysilens and gave her a wave.
"You're the new student, right?" Hyacine asked with a smile as if excited to get to know more about her.
"Yeah, I'm Hysilens." She introduced her name as her seatmate wanted to say or ask more but the bell eventually rung. In the class, they could see the students in the hallway running back to class. She kept glancing at class C as if trying to catch sight of a certain person.
Hyacine looked at where Hysilens had her gaze on as she then faced her seatmate, "Is there anyone that had caught your sight?" She asked suddenly which made the dark haired woman quite surprised but she then looked at Class C before looking at the girl again.
"Just now Aglaea talked to me and said that she and the president is in the same class," she answered as Hyacine looked at Class C as she pointed at a person that seemed short compared to others..
"You see that white haired girl with a like blue at the end of her strands?" Hyacine pointed out as Hysilens nodded in response.
"That's Cerydra, the president of Student Council," she told the girl that seemed genuinely interested at her.
"She's for real that short?"
"Yeah, I mean shes also a 2010 kid"
"No wonder…" Hysilens had her head on her hand as she thought She must be smart to be at the same grade at us despite being one year younger..
Their homeroom teacher eventually got in the class. It felt like time passed so slow for Hysilens, the lessons felt quite boring with some interesting parts. The teachers always speak too fast or with false grammar and she's so thankful that Hyacine was able to help explain it to her.
She then soon learned that the girl sitting quietly behind her is Castorice. The girl was quiet but was interesting in her eyes. Hysilens could tell that the girl had soft edges and is extremely gentle. It took a bit of time for Castorice to open up but once she's used to Hysilens's presence, she's amazing to talk to.
When the bell for break time finally rung, everyone headed out of the class so fast that she could hear someone falling down the stairs. Hysilens and her friends went and took a glance, the person that had fallen down wasn't even there anymore.
The three glanced at each other for a while before shrugging and going to Class C. They saw a light gray haired girl happily talking to Aglaea but when the girl saw them she waved to them as she looked at Hysilens as if she was going to do something mischievous.
"You must be the new student, huh." She circled Hysilens as if she was checking her or something before finally introducing herself.
"I'm Cifera but you can just call me Cipher!" She held her hand out for Hysilens to shake. The girl looked up at Cipher before shaking her hand, "I'm Hysilens."
"Yeah, I know! Agy told me," she spoke out as she went to stand beside Castorice. Hysilens could see that the two are now chatting away in their own world.
Her gaze continued to look around the class as it finally locked eye contact with the president. Her breath was caught in her throat before she looked away and joined the conversation Hyacine and Aglaea was having.
Why does my heart beat so fast at the sight of her?
