Work Text:
Waverly walked into the barn quietly and carefully as she tried not to spill the two mugs of hot cocoa that she was carrying. One with mini marshmallows and chili powder for her and the other with just mini marshmallows for her wife.
Nicole was finishing writing something down in her journal before she turned her head around and smiled.
“You know you really shouldn’t be walking around and carrying anything while you’re almost nine months pregnant” Nicole said as she stood up and took the mugs from Waverly then set them down gently on the desk.
“I can only sit with my feet up and watch tv for so long before getting bored” Waverly replied.
“So, what were you writing?” she asked as she softly massaged Nicole’s shoulders.
“My wish list” Nicole answered.
“Funny you should mention that because I was also working on mine” Waverly said as she reached into her coat pocket and unfolded the piece of paper.
“Shall we compare our lists while we sip on this delicious hot cocoa” Nicole said as she pulled out the chair.
Waverly then smiled shyly at the ground and sat down carefully.
They both then read their lists out loud to each other.
“Two kids” Waverly said.
“Check” Nicole replied as she lifted up Waverly’s shirt and kissed her pregnant belly.
Waverly giggled as she played with Nicole’s hair.
“A whole block that looks like you” Waverly said.
“Check” Nicole replied.
“Maybe we’ll get lucky and we’ll each get a mini version of ourselves” Waverly said with a wink.
“A driveway with a basketball hoop” Nicole said with a dimpled smile.
“I think we’re on the same page. We both want the same things” Waverly said as she laid her hand down on the desk with her palm facing upward. Nicole then grabbed her hand.
A few weeks later, Nicole got the best birthday present ever as Star Earp-Haught and Nicholas Earp-Haught were born.
Nicole and Waverly both got what they wished for as they each got a mini version of themselves.
