Work Text:
Boyfriends?
Steve is not dating anyone. He is achingly single which makes Dustin suddenly fussing, “do your boyfriends have to be here,” all the stranger.
“What?” Steve blinks trying to parse out what the hell Dustin is talking about.
“You’re boyfriends, you bring them everywhere.” Dustin raises his voice and this time even Billy and Eddie who have been play fighting, well mostly play but it has been scooching towards actual fighting over the last ten minutes, pause looking up. It is funny, Eddie under Billy, face half mashed into the couch by the hand slapped against his cheek holding the bulkier man up. There is a hand wound in Billy’s hair, pulling it painfully and another against his throat, where little red marks have formed. They are definitely getting close to a real fight.
Steve intentionally does not look at Billy and Eddie, sure his cheeks are heating. He doesn’t need them reading into anything he might be unintentionally showing because honestly he would love to have two boyfriends. Even one would be nice but they clearly are obsessed with each other. He doesn’t stand a chance.
“I don’t have a boyfriend, much less boyfriends.” Steve stresses the word to indicate just how ridiculous he finds the notion and trying to cover up how disappointing he actually finds reality.
Dustin gives him a look that Steve is unfortunately familiar with, the one that implies the kid thinks he is being particularly stupid. He just levels the kid with a glare, seconds away from flicking him in the nose as a reminder when Dustin huffs, “are you sure about that? Because they’re always up your ass.”
“They’re always up each other’s asses.” Steve tries not to sound as sour about that as he feels but bitterness leaks in when he adds. “I don’t even know why they keep hanging out with me.” Hands falling to his hips belaying his disappointment. It is hard to keep ignoring Billy and Eddie when suddenly there is thumping, both Dustin and Steve turn to see Billy has fallen or been pushed it is hard to tell.
Eddie attempts to step over Billy as he announces, “we could be up your ass if you want.” Want ends in a shout as Billy catches him around the knees and sends him toppling over, using Eddie’s prone figure to push himself up and closer to Steve as he practically vaults over the coffee table.
“We’d love to be up your ass, or you know vice versa whatever you're into.” Steve blinks owlishly at the declaration as Billy pushes into his space, followed by Eddie a few moments later when he regains his balance, nearly knocking them over as he barrels into them like he is joining a hug.
“See!” Dustin gestures at them with annoyance.
Steve flushes, chewing his lip, “really?” He honestly thought they were too obsessed with one another to ever give him the time of day but here they are staring him down intently as they nod in unison.
“Abso-fucking-lutely,” Eddie sing songs and Steve is not sure which of them is grabbing his ass and pulling him closer but he doesn’t mind either way.
“Stop groping him you animals,” Dustin complains, hands on his hips in a mimic of Steve.
“Maybe you should head home.” Steve suggests, he has got two cock grinding up on him, and four hands wandering over him. He wants the privacy to see where this is going.
“Steve!” Dustin shouts in outrage not that anyone is paying him any attention now. Billy and Eddie wedge their way in at the same time to kiss Steve and half kissing each other as they laugh.
Dustin is out of there as fast as his legs will carry him.
