Big Hero 6: The Adventures Continue Phase One: Our Next Chapter

Summary:

After two years of superheroing and becoming part of a bigger family, Hiro's final summer break begins; and what's in store is what he sorta expected. However, whatever dangers lie within San Fransokyo; whether that be villains that fought Boss Awesome, newbies, or those that aid the Galaxian Pirates, Big Hero 6 will stop them and protect their city; that is their promise, and they intend to keep it.

Chapter 1: The Next Chapter

Summary:

As the end of the last day of school approaches, Big Hero 6 must face a new group of villains; well technically an old one, along with the emotional struggles part of them are going through with what the last day of school meant on a deeper level.

Chapter Text

At the Hamada residence, Thursday June 14th 2035, 7:44:59am…

Hiro is sleeping peacefully in his bed while his sister Ari shares a bed with their cousin Megan, with Baymax charging peacefully in his station. The clock then strikes 7:45; prompting Hiro’s alarm to go off; waking the teen genius up. He turns it off and stretches as Baymax activates and inflates; with Megan and Ari waking up as well since their alarm was at 7:45 as well. “Morning Hiro.” Megan yawns as she ties her hair up into her usual ponytail.

“Morning guys.” Hiro says as he grabs his clothes out of the dresser and heads to the bathroom. “Morning Baymax!” He yelps as he heads downstairs. “Hiro!” Ari’s call makes him stick his head back in the room. “Aren’t you forgetting something?” She asks with a smug smirk with Megan.

Her brother blinks for a moment before remembering. “Oh, right.” He says as he rushes over and gives Ari and Megan a kiss on the cheek before rushing back to the bathroom, his sister and cousin warmly chuckling in response. “Can’t blame him, especially with what’s happening today.” The blue-eyed brunette notes.

Around 10 minutes later down at the Café…

Hiro sits down with his sister and a bunch of his friends and cousins to eat breakfast; with Cass making loaded pancakes for the occasion. “I can’t believe my little man is almost done with college.” She comes over and hugs her nephew whilst ruffling his hair. “I can’t either.” Hiro smiles as the hug and noogie end. That day would be the last day of his junior year; with him entering his freshman/final year after summer break.

“Way to go, Hiro!” Honey Lemon gushes as she gets everyone present into a selfie. “Say, last day of school!”

“Last day of school!” they all say in unison as she takes the picture; then they resume breakfast. “Say Mik, this is the end of Trina’s first year.” Cass brings up as she refills David’s coffee. “How do you feel?”

Mikan warmly yet joyfully smiles. “I’m proud of her. And soon she’ll be able to give Hiro a lesson in humility robotics wise whenever David’s not around.” She teases, getting an amused eyeroll from her scruffy haired cousin.

“Hey Fred.” Olivia nudges her friend’s shoulder with a smile. “What phase are we on?”

“Hold still lemme check.” The comic nerd says as he pulls out his notebook and checks his notes. “Well, this is technically Phase Four; per us not getting a series til now. But it is Phase One of The Adventures Continue; but Phase Four for all intents and purposes.” He smiles as he closes the book. “Although the streets are pretty light with crime lately.”

“Enjoy it while it lasts.” Sara points out as she eats her bagel. “Before we know it, the Pirates could make this place like it was before; aka what New York is like right now.”

Rachel nods. “Yeah, and this time it’s not Jersey’s fault.” She plainly jokes as Katie pops out of her bag. “Rach be careful of what you say in front of Cass!” She warns her friend; not wanting the brunette to accidentally hurt her aunt’s feelings.

“I’m from Queens!” Cass clarifies in a happy voice as she serves Chief Cruz a donut. “Thanks Cass.” He says before tipping his hat to Hiro and heading off. “Speaking of, Karmi which part of Canada is the New Jersey of Canada?” Wasabi asks. “I’ve been wondering ever since Fred started stating the ‘New Jerseys’ of the states. He did all 50 of them plus the Dominican Republic.”

Karmi taps her finger as she thinks about it. “Well, based on what my dad said I’d have to say New Brunswick; although that’s more geographical than unpleasantness.” The half-Canadian girl shrugs.

“Well I know it’s not Vancouver, since it was so nice and vibrant when we visited.” Juniper gushes as she dunks her donut in her chocolate milk. She then gets a text from the group chat and checks her phone. “Trina said she’ll meet us at SFIT, and that she has something really cool to gush about during free period.”

“That’s cool. I wonder what it is.” Go Go smiles as Baymax helps Aunt Cass serve a table. “And in a few days the Rosemaries and the members of Clan Kase that attend Shiro Yoshida go on summer break.”

Megan happily nods as she drinks some more of her glass of fruit punch Capri-sun. “Yep, and THAT is when we do our beach day.”

Mini-Max then backflips onto the table with his floaties on. “I wish that someone had informed me about that beforehand.”

“Don’t worry, Heathcliff’s probaly gonna use the hot tub again soon.” Olivia Mole assures him with a warm pat on the head. “And perhaps today he’ll ask Amy on a date.”

“Even if he will, you can’t rush these things.” Karmi points out while giving Hiro a warm look; making him feel warm as well. “Yeah, some things take time. Like this day.” He lightly chuckles as he gestures to everyone in the room as well as the time period. “Sometimes I wanted to coast through certain projects, but thanks to you guys; I didn’t. And I’m thankful for that.” The 17-year-old genius warmly declares; making everyone internally melt and gush as they told Hiro the feeling was mutual and thanking him for his kind words. Times like this helped assure him that no matter what; there’d be someone there to get his back when or if anything bad happened.

Meanwhile at Yama’s Hideout…

In his office, the hulking former sumo-wrestler rubbed his head in annoyance at his desk. First; he lost his penthouse after returning to villainy shortly after agreeing to help the police catch Big Hero 6 around 2 years ago, which means the crummy hideout he uses for his illegal bot-fights was his home no matter how many lawyers he had work on it; and THEN the most annoying part was the Galaxian Pirates; aka they who scoop up any villain-muscle that Yama wanted to hire for some messed up conquering stuff. If this kept up along with the other stuff, he’d lose his position as a gang leader.

As he sulked with a headache, Kairi (the bot fight ringleader) walks in after being permitted entrance by Momakase’s former guards who were arrested after Food Fight got shut down. “Mr. Yama, you wanted to see me?”

“Kairi, the Silver Ravens got dethroned the way losers normally do; by Big Hero 6.” He snarks. “But the Pirates have even less honor. They’d tear us apart by depleting our resources until we join them; however that is not the current problem.” His voice gets graver. “The New York gangs are stealing from our suppliers! 11th Street, Maggia, the Track Suit Mafia, especially that mysterious ‘Kingpin’. If this keeps up, we’ll be under before winter begins, and then the Pirates will force us to join them; thus making us jokes without honor.” He states coldly.

“I understand sir, but what do you want me to do?” Kairi wonders as her boss gets up and walks up to a painting of his mother; which he slides up and enters a passcode; opening a secret compartment in the wall that revealed a giant safe. He then opens it and pulls out a geisha umbrella and opens it before using it and twirling it. “I believe enough time has passed.” He smirks menacingly. “The only reason you and the others stopped was because of Hamada getting us arrested that night. But not the feds shouldn’t be sniffing around too much anymore.” He walks up to her and offers her the umbrella. “Before I continue, I need to know if you are in. They won’t listen to me without you.”

Kairi looks at the umbrella with her one good eye, thinking about it carefully. She then gives him a cold, smug smile. “Consider it done sir.” She says confidently as she grabs the umbrella from him and spins it a bit before using it to slice a mark in the wall with its adamantium tip. “Consider the Fujitas back at your beck and call.”

*cue intro*

Over at SFIT, 9:59:59am…

In Granville’s class, everyone is listening to Granville until the bell goes off. “Alright class, the first of your last free periods has begun.” She smiles formally as her students pack up. “And remember; just because today is the last day of school doesn’t mean you can slack off!” She states as the kids head out, getting vicarious joy from seeing the excited looks on their faces.

At the Nerd Lab…

“Can’t believe my second year at SFIT is almost over.” Juniper says as she slides down in her lounge chair corner chair as her friends sit with her or work on their projects. “It feels like just yesterday I ran around a quarter of a mile to forgive Aunt Tori, yet thankfully a lifetime since you-know-who.”

Olivia warmly chuckles as she works on her drawing in the chair beside her best friend. “Yeah, and it only feels like yesterday since we met.” She gushes, warming Juniper’s heart.

“Yeah, these past two-ish years really flew by.” Trina smiles as she wins a card game with Rishi, making him rage quit by slamming his cards against the table. “And I’ll be as tall as then again in a few years.”

As Rishi crosses his arms and mutters to himself, Fred was a bit farther in the distance as he struck a hero pose. “Mini Max.” His robot sidekick jumps onto his shoulder upon hearing his name. “Today and tomorrow may be a great start to Phase Four, but who knows?” He narrates dramatically. “Even though the Pirates haven’t made a peep for us or the Tantalimes since the Flux incident, our heroes may find out that just because the worst won’t come, doesn’t mean everything is at peace.” He emphasizes with dramatic hand gestures.

“BUT,” Karmi walks up from behind him with a hopeful smirk. “Our heroes will preserve no matter what.” She says in a positive tone. “Because they don’t give up when someone needs help.”

Fred lightly chuckles as he gives his biotech friend a playful punch on the shoulder. “Great narration Karms. Say, have you seen Hiro? I didn’t see him when I came in here.” He looks around again to see if he missed him. “He’ll be here soon, he just needed some time alone with Baymax.” Karmi assures him softly, as she knew where he went.

Over at Tadashi Hamada Hall…

On the grass nearby the building, Hiro was sitting on the grass warmly smiling as he sketched; with Baymax sitting by him and watching him as he drew in his sketchbook. The robot nurse noticed that his friend was drawing his friends and family; namely everyone from 2032 to now; with hearts around them, especially his closest friends and family. “Hiro, may I ask what inspired this?” Baymax asks kindly, getting a warm chuckle out of his friend. “Just, reflecting that’s all.” He says as he finishes his current drawing of Karmi. “On, everything’s that’s happened since I first came to SFIT. The day Tadashi finally dragged me here. It felt appropriate since I’ll be starting my final year in the fall.”

Baymax blinks as Hiro colors in the hearts by Karmi. “He would’ve been proud of you, Hiro. You have saved a lot of people; especially as leader of Big Hero 6.”

“Thanks buddy.” Hiro gives him a warm look before he continues sketching; now working in on coloring Karmi’s eyes.

Over at Bragg Tech (San Fransokyo division), around 12pm…

In the cafeteria of their work, Honey Lemon, Go Go, and Wasabi were enjoying their lunch break at their little table. “I can’t believe we graduated SFIT almost two years ago.” Wasabi says as he eats his fries with a chop stick to dip each side in either ketchup or mustard. “Or that Tori had her final-ish time as Momakase when she stole back those swords.”

“Yeah, and you hadn’t even kissed Sara yet.” Go Go chuckles, making Wasabi deadpan. “Really? With all due respect Athel, I don’t see you dating anyone right now.”

“Didn’t you kiss Di on your third date?” Honey Lemon asks innocently, making Wasabi blush and deadpan as he continues stuffing his face; making Go Go snicker and snort as she wiped away some unblinkable tears before she noticed something. “Hey Wasabi, where’s your-“

“I believe this is yours, mack.” The janitor hands the burly man his ID card back. “Tiberius Magnus Jones, really?” He says as he pushes his cart away. “I WAS PARTIALLY NAMED AFTER CAPTAIN KIRK!” He yells as the janitor leaves the room. “Or, maybe Jerry was pointing out my middle name.” He realizes.

“Either way, let’s make sure we work hard enough so we can enjoy some time off with our friends this summer.” Honey Lemon smiles warmly, making her friends smile and nod confidently; determine to make this summer great.

Meanwhile at Yama’s old penthouse…

“Isn’t this great Judy?!” Krei yells from the balcony. “To think the police wanted to tear this place down and build, what was it called again?”

“An unemployment office, sir.” Judy deadpans as she fixes her glasses. After Yama lost his penthouse two years prior, it was being debated legally of what to do with it. Then Mayor Saito just decided to have the police gut it for any contraband they missed before selling it; hence Krei. “Yes exactly!” The dirty blonde man gleams. “If you’re unemployed, why would you need an office?”

The Watcher then facepalms from the stupidity of that sentence. “And to think Liv Amara nearly outbid me. Jokes on her; I had funds in my offshore accounts in the Parisian-Dominican Islands.” Krei happily scoffs before considering something. “Just to be clear, what would happen if I hawked a loogie from here onto what seems to be a Neurogenesis supply truck in traffic?”

“It’d just be like rain, sir.” Judy mentally rolls her eyes. “And considered a minor offense maybe, perhaps along the lines of vandalism considering you planned to hit her car.”

Krei then taps his chin as he thinks about it. “Eh, my mouth is too dry for it.” He says as he walks inside, with his assistant following him begrudgingly. A few moments later, they entered Yama’s old office; which still had most of the old furniture minus the illegal aspects; including the desk and biometric safe. “This place will be a great location for the new Krei Tech Cosmetics Division.” The CEO declares as he sits at the desk and lays his feet up on the desk with his hands behind his head. “Cruelty free makeup and beautiful lines of fashion. At appropriate pricing of course; that’s why I entered this market.”

“Of course, sir.” Judy says as she looks around at the office. “So, when’s the earliest we can launch it?”

“March 2036.” Krei says confidently. “We just need to be on top of the game. Especially since Neurogenesis is making ‘simple makeup’ since ‘everyone is naturally beautiful’ barf, Amara’s a sap.” He scoffs. “She’s even doing a wardrobe line of swimsuits and dresses, but the date for that is December of next year; so Krei Tech will be ahead of her by 9 months.”

“Sir with all due respect, isn’t this hate of Ms. Amara a bit much?” Judy scrunches her right eye. “Even for YOU?”

“.. I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Krei says bluntly. “Anyway,” He sits up properly. “Let’s scout this area to see where the models will do their photoshoots.”

As Judy nods, the lights go out; prompting the two to take out their phones and turn on the flashlight features. “What was that?” Her boss worries, getting a shrug back from the raven-haired girl. “Can’t be the breakers, since the technicians in the electrical room would’ve told us if anything happened. Come on, let’s go see if it’s just this floor.” She says as she leads her boss out of the room. “If it’s just this floor, the elevator might still be functional.” Krei suggests, prompting Judy to hit the button before trying to call the technicians. “No one’s answering.” She says skeptically.

“And Yama’s free Wi-Fi is still online, which that and the fact we can hear the elevator means that it’s just this room.” Her boss points out after checking his phone; out of paranoia prepping the alert to Big Hero 6. *DING* The lights then turn back on as the elevator opens; showing three women in punk-geisha getups; with the second tallest of them held a tablet jury-rigged into the control paneling with a bunch of wires; all three of them giving the two cold smiles.

Krei then presses the alert button on his phone before shoving it in his pocket. “Who are you and how did you get in the building?” He demands to know before the one in the mute teal kimono and two little katanas in her hair in place of hair needles; the one that hacked the elevator, uses her umbrella handle to bump him onto the floor before holding its tip near his nose menacingly. “You haven’t dug deep enough into the criminal underworld to know of us, Alistair.” She says in a bored yet cold tone; which Krei thought made sense since she had a sorta emo haircut covering her left eye.

When Judy tried ramming into her, the tallest of the three; who wore a medium green kimono, managed to wrap her in her mace’s chain without hurting her; holding the handle as she walked up to her with a smug smile. “Ms. Brown, how you work for a man like this is beyond me.” She snarks as she hands the mace to the blond girl; as it was hers. She then quickly swaps places with the one holding Krei at needle-point; still holding the umbrella tip to Krei’s nose like her friend. “Now then, this place belongs to our employer.” She states coldly. “Now that we’ve come out of the shadows, we will reclaim it for him; but it won’t be until we throw a defeated and dishonored Big Hero 6 at his feet that we will be victorious.”

Ok she’s scary “Who are you nuts anyway?!” Krei yells, getting a small cackle from the woman threatening him. “We are the Fujita; and we serve Mr. Yama.”

On the streets of San Fransokyo…

Big Hero 6 was rushing quickly to the building, scaling the building through rockets, velocity tricks, and chemical balls. They land on the balcony and scout the area. “Panda?” The Captain asks, prompting his friend to scan the area. “Besides Mr. Krei and Judy; who seemed to have escaped in the elevator, there are two unknown biosignatures, and Kairi Hayashi; Yama’s assistant.” He holds up a finger for emphasis.

“Her?” The Captain says with caution. “She’s nothing more than a lackey, she’s been in jail in more times than Yama, hmm. Proceed with caution.” He says as he leads his team inside.

Inside the penthouse, the team passed by the room where Hiro and Fred were doublecrossed by Yama, as well as the cell that they and Ari were thrown in, and then they arrive at the office; aka where Yama had Tori’s family swords over two years ago. “Alright, we split up; Baymax and Chem Girl the office to search for clues, Chop Chop and Flame Jumper the left side of the level while me and the Captain search the right.” Speed Queen says, then the six split up.

Chem Girl checks under the desk, not seeing anything. “If they were in here, they left calmly.” She notes. “Panda?”

“The only set of footprint residue I can find is from Krei and Judy.” Red Panda says. “However there is also traces of, roller skates.”

“Roller skates?” The pink-armored hero says in disbelief. “Which way?”

Just as Red Panda raises a finger to answer, he aims his rocket fist above her and shoots it; with Chem Girl looking up to see something in the vent; which she finds out is a person as she kicks the vent cover off and jumps out just before the rocket fist breaks the ceiling; the blue-clad Fujita somehow sticking a superhero landing with roller skates on. She then straightens up and takes out her hand fan and opens it; revealing it to be metal as she coldly smirked at the heroes. “That sensu is made out of pure adamantium and vibranium.” Red Panda notes as he retracts his rocket fist; which the raven-haired girl slices with her handfan; straight down the middle as each piece crashing on either side of him. “Oh no.”

As she smugly chuckled, Chem Girl tried throwing a chem ball at her; but the skater dodges it and takes out one of the katana-pins in her hair and jams it in the Chem Purse; making it shake and beep. After a quick yelp of fear, Chem Girl rips it off and tosses it to the desk; where it blows up, encasing the desk in multi-colored goop as the shockwave was enough to knock her on her back. The Fujita then rolls up to Red Panda and snickers. “You know, I’m really careful whenever dealing with chemicals.” She jokes as she moves her hair aside; showing that her left eye had an eyepatch over it. “A lesson I’ll never forget.” She says coldly.

“While your eye is very sensitive to bright areas, it is still functional.” Red Panda says after scanning her. “Biotech surgery can repai-“ She then jumps and kicks Baymax into another room while giving him a cold look upon landing. “DON’T scan my eye without my permission.” She hisses with acid before walking back to Chem Girl. “Now then, I hear your goofy boots have some kind of slip and slide feature. So let’s cut the water off, shall we.” She smirks before rushing towards Chem Girl.

Meanwhile in another part of the building, Chop Chop and Flame Jumper were inspecting the kitchen. “Someone’s been here alright.” Jumper notes as he looks in the fridge. “Who else puts empty cans of Cherry Canada Dry back into the fridge?”

“Yeah, and there are skid marks on the floor.” Chop Chop says as he and Mini Max examine them on the floor by the fridge. “Sorta like Sue’s, except without the rocket fuel.”

“Indeed, the scuffs indicate it was from braking.” Mini Max notes.

As Flame Jumper closes the fridge, he notices something in the wall. “Hey Chop Chop, is this from a sledgehammer?” He points at the weird hole, which his friend then examines. “No, it wouldn’t have been this round.” The curly haired hero says with confusion. “In fact it resembles a mace actually.”

“Like that one?!” Flame Jumper yelps as he points to the mace that one of the Fujitas thrashes near their feet; scaring both of them pale. “Yep.” Chop Chop squeaks as he turns on his plasma blades.

The blonde woman then cackles manically. “So, I get the two weakest links while Sakura and Lụa get to handle the big guns. Well, at least I’ll get my exercise in for today!” She yelps as she swings her mace near Chop Chop; who tries destroying the ball by shielding himself with his plasma blades; however the mace just bounced off it and let the Fujita resume spinning it in the air. “WHAT?!” Flame Jumper yelps as Chop Chop slowly remembers where he’s seen something like that before. “Adamantium?” He deadpans.

“Who do you think was the first to smuggle in through San Fransokyo?!” The mace-wielding Fujita cackles and laughs as she shows off her mace spinning skills. “Now then, mommy needs her exercise.” She says as she runs towards them; prompting them to get their guards up. “Ok, but NEVER CALL YOURSELF MOMMY AGAIN!!” Flame Jumper yells as he and Chop Chop dodge her mace while Mini Max pulls on her hair. “IT’S JUST WEIRD!”

Over at another section of the penthouse, the Captain and Speed Queen enter some kind of storage room; which the police had thoroughly ransacked. As the two walk through it, they note that somehow the room was probaly dustier than before Krei bought the place. “So, how is today treating you?” Speed Queen asks her friend kindly. “You know, before we were dragged out here by Yama’s [bleep]s.”

“GO GO!” The Captain yells, making his friend get an embarrassed blush. “Sorry, just venting. Only because this day is hard on a lot of us; especially with Yama here.” She sulks a bit, confusing her friend. “What?”

The skater lowers her visor as her gum bubble sadly pops. “Yama being here reminds me of the fire, all of us.” She sulks softly. “Yama was the calm before the storm that was Callahan, which mixed with the fact that,” Tears start forming in her eyes. “That Tadashi should’ve been here for your last summer break, just makes it harder on me.” She chokes up, making the Captain’s heart bleed for her. “When Jets scarred me, I cried because it hurt. But I won’t always have that luxury of someone being in just little danger or of getting hurt more. I wanted to talk about my feelings with Izzy at work but then Krei beeped us. Days like this just sap my strength.” Her voice breaks as her friend pulls her into a warm hug. “I know, but we’re all here for you; and the rest of our friend group is there for you guys as well.” He says caringly. “And don’t worry, we’ll be out of here soon so you can pour your heart out to HL if you want. But in the meantime, I’ll here for you.”

His kind words make the disheartened skater weakly yet warmly smile. “Thanks, Hiro. It warms my heart that Tadashi lives on in you and Baymax.” She gushes softly before the two break the hug; her friend smiling warmly at her words. “Anytime. Now then, let’s find those harpies.”

“Harpies?” Speed Queen snickered. “Well the other terms are rather vulgar.” The team leader chuckles. But then the lights turn out; only their visors giving them light as they both got into defensive poses. But then a spotlight shines on the wall; with the two seeing that it came from some kind of open vent. “Once upon a time,” The two turn upon hearing the narration and seeing something in front of the light; a shadow puppet of Kairki; with both of her eyes, now in the spotlight. “A woman named Kairi was down on her luck in a culture melting pot called San Fransokyo.” The cold, soft voice said. “She was a good girl, but then one day when she was 19; it happened.”

The scenery then shows Kairi running from some kind of thief with a knife. “She was on her way to community college when it happened; a burglar came and demanded her purse at knife point. Our poor heroine of course gave him the purse, but the burglar wanted cash; which she didn’t have.” Her tone gets colder and more venom filled. “Poor Kairi ran and ran, with people trying to help her; but to no avail. The thief eventually caught up with her by a gym in public, where he called her so many horrible names and threatened to hurt her if she didn’t give him the cash. But when Kairi, being the sweetheart she was.” Her voice gets sick from annoyance and grief.

“Tried offering to go to an ATM to get the cash for him, wanting to solve things peacefully. However, life is not always that kind. He struck her right eye.” The shadow puppets run off screen before Puppet Kairi comes back with the burglar; a slash where her left eye was. “And was about to kick her when a noble soul saved her; clocked the monster in the sternum, which knocked him right out.” She narrates the puppetry; with the heroes getting wide eyes upon recognizing the figure. “Felony Carl.” They both mutter. “The man drove her to the hospital, where the doctors couldn’t do anything to save her eye.” Kairi continues.

“It still moved, but all sight was lost. So Kairi went into a deep depression. It didn’t help that her parents had passed a few months prior, with any family she had left all the way back in Japan. So after a mental breakdown and leaving the hospital days later, she started getting in touch with the criminal side of San Fransokyo.” The puppets show Kairi standing with assorted criminals. “She managed to finish community college without anyone ever finding out that she moonlighted as a thug for hire. She had done small jobs for many people, some secret crime lords and even internationally wanted men.” It then shows her with a burly, round puppet (which fit what the heroes had heard about the Kingpin in New York) and then a caped man with spiky hair; the puppet made with colored glass in the eye areas to showcase his glowing purple eyes.

“But she wasn’t alone the five years she was without a master.” A cold smirk is heard. “Within the first few months of her being a crook for hire, she had made friends; loyal, warm, loving friends that gave her the love and affection she had lost when her parents died.” Her voice breaks with a bit of happiness as the puppets of the other Fujitas come in. “The three had learned martial arts and how to use weapons on their own time before they had met; then after doing many jobs together, they became the Fujitas. It wouldn’t be until Kairi was 24 and her friends were 26 and 28 when they’d meet a man who wanted their services full time.” The Puppet Fujitas then start speaking with Puppet Yama. “A sumo wrestler who led a double life as a notorious gang leader. The Fujitas accepted, then for the next 5 years they did his dirty work; keeping his territories in check and fighting Yama’s powerful enemies. They all shared a luxurious apartment and a bed, since their horrible lives made them never want to be truly alone again. But then, something happened.”

Puppet San Fransokyo then gets a bit bigger. “February 24th, 2032.” She says with acid. “While Kairi’s main job was as leader of the Fujitas, she also doubled as Yama’s assistant. She was the ringleader for the bot fights he held, as well as the referee. Then one day, a 14 year old brat came in and hustled Yama.” Shadow Hiro smirks as he runs away from an angry Yama with money in his hands. “Then when his brother saved him, the cops showed up! Poor Kairi was thrown in jail, as well as her friends; who were at the fight to spend time with their dear friend. Their faces and prints were now in the system; Yama’s finest who had NEVER been CAUGHT were now tagged!” She yells as the Shadow Fujitas put their gear in a dresser and close the drawer.

“So our poor heroines were forced to give up being the Fujitas in order to ensure that they’d never get caught or that the Fujitas be traced back to their boss. And since they were without that purpose, they were split up.” The Puppet Fujitas move apart from each other as Kairi’s tears fall past the puppets, hurting the Captain and Speed Queen’s hearts. “Kairi was stuck in the city running the bot fights after weeks in jail, Mai was running the smuggling business down in Bayview and Jia was ensuring that the money laundering dummy shops were functional over in Haightjuku. Three loving friends who planned to grow old together were torn apart for THREE YEARS!” Kairi yells as the Shadow Fujitas had mental breakdowns.

“All because, of some negative two bit, cocky, gap-toothed brat named Hiro Hamada! The three had video calls sure, before you bring that up. But being separated from embracing your friends for three years, three months and one HUNDRED eleven DAYS without hugging and kissing her friends, without cuddling them when she had a nightmare or for comfort, without anyone to assure her that she was pretty despite her disability, only employees.” Her cold tone drips with acid and venom along with her tears as the Puppet Fujitas reunite. “But, BUT! Enough time had passed, so Mr. Yama said that the Fujitas were to reunite to defend his gang. But before we can get revenge on Hamada, we must take care of our boss’s business first.” She says before the spotlight turns off, Speed Queen and the Captain blinking their empathy and scared tears away as they looked around for her.

“Which includes YOU six brats.” Kairki says behind them at the exact moment the lights turned back on. She then takes out her red umbrella from one of her long sleeves while pulling out a purple one from her other sleeve. She then clangs the tips together; which causes them to glow purple; scaring the two heroes. “Vibranium.” The Captain mutters.

“AND Adamantium.” Kairi chuckles coldly with venom. “Now then, if you enjoyed the puppet show I think you’ll enjoy seeing my props up CLOSE.”

The Captain tries using his magnet gloves to pull her forward on her skates; which works until she manages to reach into her pocket and throw an EMP at him; disabling his magnet gloves and releasing his grip on her. “NO!” He yelps, especially since he had EMP-proofed his technology after the battles with Kang and other tech maniacs. “She must’ve juiced up the frequency.”

“Well EMPs overall don’t work on my armor too much anymore; especially with the friction padding.” Speed Queen scowls as she skates up to Kairi; who dodges her punches with ease and blocks her disk hits with her umbrellas. “No wonder some rookie was able to mark you, take it from a veteran.” She snarks whilst gesturing to her eyepatch, enraging Speed Queen into attacking faster; just amusing the geisha-gangster as she dodged her attacks. “What to do, what to do?” The Captain mutters to himself before realizing- “Wait where are the others?”

“SHE’S NUTS!” He turns to see Chop Chop nearly slide into a wall as he, Flame Jumper, and Mini Max rush into the room and stand with him as the blonde geisha spinning and slamming her mace against the floor as she skated to them. “Come on ya wimps!” She says with a crazy smile as she brakes by the door to block it. “A year of Moma-[bleep] and you can’t even dodge a medieval weapon?”

“JIA LANGUAGE!” Kairi scolds her friend. “Sorry, the adrenaline of getting even with these jerks got to me.” The blonde says softly but with venom to the heroes. “Say, where’s our dear friend?”

Chem Girl kicks the door open as she helps Red Panda walk to their friends as the other eyepatched Fujita rolls in and uses her sensu to intimidate the heroes with her cold smirk. “What happened?” Chop Chop says as he examines what remained of his robot friend’s broken armor; the doctor only able to stand on one of his armored legs. “She destroyed my purse and my boots.” Chem Girl gestures to the her chem-heels which were reduced to flats. “Then she started ripping Panda’s armor apart.”

“I am still functional, however my armor is not.” Red Panda says as the Captain checks him for serious injuries.

“Fujitas, our master awaits us.” Kiari smiles coldly. “REFORM AND ROLL CALL!”

The two nod, with Jia skating to the group’s leader’s side. “Nunchi!” The blonde smiles crazily. Then Mai skates and brakes hard enough to shoot sparks towards the heroes; which they block with their armored hands, and then stands on the other side of Jiari. “Lúa!” She says. Then Jiari twirls her umbrellas as she points them at Big Hero 6; along with her best friends aiming their weapons defensively at them as well. “Sakura.” She says coldly. “We are the Fujitas; and our master Yama wants you unable to stop his rise back to the power you deprived him of.”

As the heroes calculate a plan, Flame Jumper steps up to them; sternly glaring at them from under his mask/hood. “May I say something?”

Sakura snickers smugly. “Whatever. You know you should save your begging for Yama, right?”

“Yeah, too bad we’re not RSVPing.” The comic book nerd says sternly. “And my last words are; you have your Batman sunglasses ladies?”

“Of course not, I left mine at- wait what?” Lúa says in shock as Nunchi gives her a confused shrug. Flame Jumper then activates his head-lights; making the women groan as they shut their eyes from the very bright lights. “I FORGOT HE HAD THAT!” Sakura yelps. “Also got a new feature.” Flame Jumper says before clearing his throat. “Boo.” The three’s weapons are knocked out of their hands as they are then knocked back and slid across the floor by his-“Sonic scream baby!” He says with a victorious pose. “I forgot I had it until I realized me and Chop Chop’s suits were unaffected.”

“AH!” Sakura yells as she helps her friends up, all three of them still recovering from the blinding light. “That was DIRTY.” She hisses at the direction of Flame Jumper’s voice. “No, it was what Captain Fancy did to defeat the Joker in the Captain Fancy/Batman crossover mini-series.” The comic nerd gushes with soft excitement. “Now then, Speed Queen I believe your armor is undamaged; like your handcuffs in your pouch compartment.

“On it.” His yellow-armored friend smirks as she rolls up to the Fujitas and starts cuffing them. “Look, I know what it’s like to have reminders of one of the worst days of your life.” She says kindly to them, having gone through a similar thing herself that day. “But this isn’t a healthy way to express your anger. You still have each other; some aren’t so lucky.”

Sakura scoffs as the vision in her eye slowly returns. “You know, NOTHING of the pain we went through.” She says coldly with acid and tears flowing down her face. “Nunchi and Mai are all I have.”

“… Then I’ll assure you three aren’t separated in prison.” Speed Queen promises them as she starts cuffing Nunchi; who then starts hyperventilating. “Panda?” She looks to her friend for a medical opinion.”

“She seems to be going through a post-traumatic stress disorder induced panic attack.” The robot doctor says. “Seeming induced from your promise to keep them together.”

“Never again.” Nunchi hyperventilates as Lúa and Sakura try comforting her. “Prison is the reason why I was alone for three and a half years.” Tears start running down her face. “Why I didn’t feel love for years, and they’ll never let us share a cell!” Her heartbeat gets louder as her voice strains, making it hard for Speed Queen to cuff her. The armored heroine then puts the cuffs aside and holds her in an attempt to calm her down. “Nunchi, relax.” She says softly. “You have my word t-“

“NEVER AGAIN!” Nunchi then kicks Speed Queen so hard that she flies across the room and hits the floor hard; giving her a minor concussion. The blonde Fujita then takes her flower pin off and picks her friend’s cuff-locks as her breathing gets more painful. “Mai, sweetie we’re here.” Sakura says as she and Lúa hug her warmly. “Calm down, please.”

Nunchi then hyperventilates some more before breaking out of the hug and pulling something out of her pocket. “NEVER AGAIN!” Tears run down her face as she throws it down; the object being a smoke bomb that clouded them in gray smoke. As Speed Queen skated into the fog, she was too late. The Fujitas had gone. “Panda?”

“The Fujitas seemed to have escaped through the vents, as they are already half-way down the building.” The robot reports. “However most of us are in no condition to chase them; both physically and mentally." He says specifically to Speed Queen, who weakly nods. “Yeah, if my heart wasn’t bleeding for them, I would’ve punched Sakura’s lights out if she said anything more about Tadashi.” She sulks, Chem Girl walking up to her and pulling her into a hug as the tears came out; needing to let it all out after what just happened. Then her friends join the hug as well, knowing that she needed some love.

Back at Yama’s hideout, around 20 minutes later…

In Kairi’s room, she and Jia were hugging and cuddling Mai in her bed; dressed in pajamas so they could be comfortable as they soothed their friend’s panicking heart. “Mai, how do you feel?” Jia asks her friend after giving her a kiss on the cheek, the hyperventilating having stopped a while ago; but Mai still breathed sadly with teary eyes. “Physically yes,” The blonde’s tear strained voice cracks. “But it still hurts either way.” More tears flow as she taps her heart, prompting her friends to cuddle her more and kiss her cheeks. In her heart, Kairi swore vengeance on Speed Queen for making her friend suffer; first her, then Big Hero 6, and then Hamada.

Over at Big Hero 6’s hideout, around 3pm…

Later, after Hiro resumed school upon returning at SFIT, all heroes standing were at the meeting room table; even those who didn’t join them to fight the Fujitas. “Yikes.” Karmi says softly. “I know this sounds insensitive, but is there a chance the Pirates are involved with Yama, considering Kairi helped Dell around 13 years ago?”

“No, every gang in San Fransokyo is trying to ensure they don’t lose their freedom.” Kat points out somberly. “Which probaly aided the Fujitas’ motive for returning. They’re Yama’s real muscle, not the oversized copies of his bot fighting bot.”

Bea nods. “Yeah. We knew about the Fujitas; but not their identities.” She shares. “We assumed that the damage done when Hiro got Yama thrown in jail meant he couldn’t pay them anymore.”

“That’s what I thought too.” Globby says while looking up at the ceiling. “Felony Carl said he loved telling that story until Kairi’s horrid crimes came to light.”

“But getting back on subject, is there more we can be doing?” Go Go asks. “It feels like there is.”

Honey Lemon then puts her hand warmly on her friend’s shoulder. “Athel, it’s not because of the Fujitas; it because of the day we fought them. Everything’s been hard on us with today, and it will get harder by next year.”

“Yeah,” Her skater friend sulks. “And I know you’re gonna say that the feeling of wanting to do more is just me regretting Tadashi isn’t here. My brain’s just rattled, especially with causing someone to get a panic attack.”

“Go Go, you didn’t know.” Wasabi assures her kindly, but the Korean shakes her head. “But I did kinda. Kairi showed us the Fujitas’ life story; but I just thought that assuring they wouldn’t be separated in prison would make them happy.”

HL then kisses her friend’s cheek and cradles her close to her heart. “That was sweet, and you couldn’t have known that Nunchi was sensitive to the subject of prison.”

“I know, but today just feels confusing.” Go Go mutters, Hiro’s eyes widening with realization. “That’s because it is.” Everyone looks at him for saying something redundant. “Right now IS the end of a chapter for all of us, but to everyone else it’s just a normal day.” He then chuckles as he ruffles his hair. “Look, today was just our off day. I actually expected to be extra depressed during this period, but it hurts my heart to see that while I didn’t, you four were.” He sulks to his 24-ish year old friends; making them feel a bit guilty for not telling him. “But, we’re all here for each other now.” He smiles warmly. “So, we cry today out, and whenever we have to, then we help each other each day to make sure we don’t get overwhelmed by sadness. We’re heroes yes, but our friendship makes it work.”

All his friends warmly smile, with Go Go letting out a weak chuckle. “Thanks, Hiro. I know this is going to sound cheesy, but you sound like your brother more each day.”

Hiro can’t help but smile more at that statement, glad that it was true; and he didn’t mind it at all. He admired Tadashi, and he was happy to be living by his example. “So, who wants to talk about their feelings first?”

Back at Yama’s lair…

At his desk, Yama was counting the funds from his gang’s latest heist. The Fujitas may’ve failed today, but tomorrow’s a better day to defeat those brats he mentally notes. Then there’s a knock at his door. When he looks up; he sees a tear-strained Kairi without her eyepatch in the doorframe sadly holding her arm. Her left iris and pupil were paler due to the knife scar across it and the skin around it. “Sir, I didn’t want to leave Mai, but you have a visitor; a ‘gang’ leader with particularly bad fashion sense.” Her tear strained voice cracks, Yama’s eyes shrinking when he realizes who she’s talking about.

He then heads to the cafeteria area like Kairi said; freezing in fear when he saw HIM sitting at a table with his feet up on the metal table drinking cocoa in HIS ‘#1 Gang Leader’ mug Kairi got him for reuniting the Fujitas that day. “What do you want, Pirate?” He asks with caution.

“Is that anyway to greet me?” Indigo’s purple eyes glare with his smirk as he gets up and walks to Yama while chuckling. “You are aware I have eyes and ears everywhere, RIGHT?”

Yama then starts sweating bullets as he fixes his collar. “Actually no.” He mutters, making Indigo snicker. “Well I do; courtesy of Lady Shadow’s empire of sorts.” He says as he walks around the room drinking his cocoa. “So, I know that you’re afraid I’ll absorb your little organization into the Pirates.” He says before shrugging plainly. “Honestly, you can keep it.”

The former sumo wrestler’s eyes shoot open with shock. “Huh?”

“You see, your little gang is of little importance to the bigger picture we’ve been building towards for nearly 15 years.” The brunette points out. “And considering how weak and miniscule your gang is, we’d only take it if you ticked us off.” He chuckles. “But ticking us off by being pathetic doesn’t count. So, you’re free until we conquer the world; with San Fransokyo being the center of our empire.” He states as he drinks his cocoa. “Any questions before I leave? I have a girlfriend to get back to, do you?”

“Well, NO to the girlfriend part.” Yama says, slowly getting calm. “Although may I ask; why bother coming down here? Wouldn’t you rather send some lesser soldier like Kamala or that Deli guy people mentioned?”

“FIRST and least importantly, Dell is back in Canada.” Indigo deadpans with boredom. “He’s overseeing the Canadian branch before he continues work on our upmost important project, and he won’t be back for MONTHS. And secondly, I’m here so people don’t forget that I’m in charge.” He smirks. “You see, while Dell did no wrong gathering materials for these” He draws out of his adamantium-graphene katanas; scaring Yama as he showed it off. “Impressive, isn’t it? It’s one of two adamantium-graphene katanas Dell made me; just because he wanted me to have them. Lancer might’ve fried most of his brain, but at least some of the sappy stuff remains. But, an unfortunate consequence was Ms. Khan’s fanfiction stating everything that fox brat told her.” His voice gets colder as he puts the katana back in his back sheath.

“You see Mr. Yama, people assume that Dell is the leader because he is not only a Super Soldier, but quite possibly the smartest man on the planet.” The purple-eyed man explains. “And that is true, but people assume that HE leads; not me. He doesn’t say he’s the leader; but people assume. NO one second guessed Shadowclaw’s position while she still breathed. Granted, different circumstances because of fanfiction, but I have to fix this error so people don’t assume Dell leads the attack we’re planning. So that way they know who the real leader of the Pirates is, who the REAL successor of Lady Shadowclaw is. And I trust you’ll spread the word among the underworld, correct?” He says coldly; his purple eyes glowing with anger at Yama; who nods for his life. “Excellent.” Indigo says as he finishes the cocoa and puts it on the table as he leaves, smiling. “Oh by the way, great cocoa.” He says positively as he enters the hallway, Yama sitting down at a table and taking a breather. “He’s more nuts that I gave him credit for.” He mutters. “He’s like Red Skull.” If he tears through Big Hero 6, what would he do us?

Back at SFIT, around 3:35pm…

Hiro took a deep breath as he looked through his speech at the desk in his lab. Today school was ending early since it was the last day, and since he was granted a college grant for his upcoming last year at SFIT, Granville thought it fitting that he gave a speech on behalf of the school. “Alright, this seems good.” He chuckles to himself, with Baymax nodding in agreement. “Hiro?” A familiar soft voice asks, prompting him to look at the doorway; where he saw Granville with Tori; giving him warm smiles and waves.

“Aunt Tori, what are you doing here?” He asks as he walks up to them. The bluehead then warmly chuckles as she gets on one knee and hugs her honorary nephew. “To see my nephew, nieces and especially my daughter finish another year at SFIT.” She gushes as she pulls herself away from him to get a better look at him. “I’ll be sitting with the others in the middle, a special spot where young David won’t risk learning his future.” She then kisses Hiro’s forehead before standing up. “I hope that this next chapter bids us all good.” Tori waves at him warmly as she leaves, with Hiro waving warmly back; feeling confident and sure. “Are you ready, Hiro?” Granville asks kindly, getting a nod from her student/nephew. “As I’ll ever be.” He says firmly.

At the graduation stage, 3:40pm…

“That’s what I say when expecting each milestone.” Hiro says over the microphone to those moving on to the next grade, to those graduating, to the teachers and to those watching the ceremony either in the chairs or via videocall. “You know, today was kinda confusing for some, but that’s because for one; it is. We are overall moving on to the next chapter of our lives, and while not everyone could be here for it, we are thankful for those who could.” Cass wipes away some sad and happy tears at her nephew’s kind words, with Megan warmly patting her hand as she felt emotional too.

“Granted, the past three years have been; interesting to say the least.” Hiro lightly chuckles. “Namely the rise in crime not only here but in New York as well, but a rise of people wanting to do good by helping people as well. Whether that be our very own science-skilled heroes here, or armored ones helping in the Big Apple, people know that someone has to help; words my late brother Tadashi lived by. Words that Captain America also lived by his death 90 years ago.”

“Some people claim they’re not heroes, yet their actions say otherwise.” Kat and Bea see from the latter’s phone on a rooftop, making Kat think a bit about their life decisions.

“But, one doesn’t declare themselves a hero; their actions do.” Hiro says a bit teary eyed. “Actions appreciated by those they saved one way or the other. SFIT creates many people who aid those in need one way or the other as well, whether that be scientists, doctors, inventors, or biotech majors.” He looks warmly at Karmi, who blushes and giggles all flustered. “But it is not guaranteed. You have to make the decision, and I trust that those moving onto the next grade and the graduating class of 2035 will make the right decision.” He says before doing a small bow, everyone breaking into applause; with those wearing graduation gowns throwing their hats up into the air as they cheered. Ari, Rachel, and his cousins then run up and hug him, with Cass joining in as well; adding to the warm feeling in her nephew’s heart.

Back at the Lucky Cat, around 30 minutes later…

Almost everyone was there for the graduation early-dinner; except Trina who was celebrating with her family and Past David back at her place. “Great job on dinner, Aunt Cass.” Hiro smiles as he enjoys his Lasagna-Pizza, getting a hug and kiss from his aunt. “You’re welcome, and I know I’ve said this multiple times today,”

“52 that I know of.” Baymax shares.

“But, I am so proud of you Hiro.” Cass says as she cradles her nephew’s head in her arms, making him happy. “Thanks, Cass.”

“Hey sweetie?” Diego turns to Helen; who wipes off cheese from his lip, which he appreciates. “Thanks, Lin.” He says before the two share a small kiss, which warms Megan’s heart to see. And it made Hiro and Karmi excited to see how their relationship could be like if they hit it off when Hiro turned 18 in December. “I think we’re all excited for what the future brings.” He gushes.

On the building tops of San Fransokyo around 3 hours later…

“And whatever comes,” the Captain sits on the roof carefully, with the rest of his team beside him and their allies; with Lab Lady sitting between him and Chem Girl. “I’m glad I’ll have you guys.”

Notes:

Welcome everyone to my Big Hero 6 revival! :D
(Quick note: Lúa is copied and pasted from Google overall since I needed the accent mark)
I considered showing the period between here and The Mascot Upshot for BH6, but overall too much time would be spent before we got to this part, so here it is as is :D
Clan Kase will still have mini-series/series, one shots and such (along with focusing on other people in this universe), but these will be the primary stories for San Fransokyo's finest :D
And near the end, I get kinda meta with mentioning how weird the story is; and I hope it works. I know it's not perfect, but I hope that it does good as opening the series.
Also yeah, I remembered the Fujitas (villains cut from the film) via scrolling Tumblr. So, I decided to make them canon to Clan Kase :D
Dell will be taking a small break, but rest assured; he'll be back when the story calls for it
I won't confirm or deny who will appear in the story, but I can say that I am excited for where this series will go X)
Big Hero 6 2012 and my Karmi + Go Go earlier friendship AU will no be on hiatus/extended hiatus because of this. I want to finish 2012 Phase One by late December/early January.
Anywho, any non spoiler/non personal questions about the story? Go ahead and ask and I'll see what I can answer :D
See yall in the next chapter. Take care everybody
