Work Text:
Seoyeon and Nakyoung's relationship was already ruined from the beginning.
They do things that no normal friends do, but they don't have romantic feelings for each other. They didn't mind, they agreed to it mutually. As long as there were no feelings involved, they didn't care what they were doing together. Having fun is enough for them, even if it's just for a short moment.
But there are times where things get messy, either when Nakyoung gets too frustrated with the ongoing pressure from life, or when Seoyeon misses her ex too much for her own good. They would be there for each other, to comfort, to give advice, to just be there. There are things that seem too much for them to talk to others, so they seek for the feeling of comfort from each other, in ways others can't help, in ways that help them forget, even if it's not permanent.
Today is no different.
Nakyoung is working on her project in their shared apartment when Seoyeon bursts inside, tears running down her cheeks as she breaks down on the floor. Nakyoung immediately stands up and runs to the younger girl, pulling her close.
“Hey hey, what's wrong? Why are you crying?” Nakyoung combs her hair, trying to soothe the blonde.
“M-my ex, I-” Seoyeon hiccups. “I can't take this anymore.”
“Yooyeon? What did she do?”
“I don't want to talk about it.”
Nakyoung pulls away to look at Seoyeon.
“Please…” Seoyeon pleaded. “I don't want to be in pain like this anymore.”
Nakyoung sighs. “Do you want me to…make you forget?”
“How?”
“I might regret saying this but,” Nakyoung exhales. “Kiss me.”
“What?” Seoyeon cocks her head.
“Kiss me until you forget about her. We always fuck around and find out, you know? We flirt and we joke, we act like a couple in ways people genuinely believe we're dating. We've done tons of dumb shit together and never really regretted it so…” Nakyoung's voice becomes smaller and smaller. “You know what, just for-”
“Wait.”
Nakyoung stops rambling.
“It's not…bad. If you're willing to then…” Seoyeon looks at her.
Nakyoung gulps.
“Yeah, of course I am. We'll always be there for each other, remember?”
“Yeah. Of course.”
There's this somewhat awkward tension between them right now. Yes, they have done things together that may or may not be worse, but they've never kissed before. They kind of viewed it as something weird, or joked around that they would never kiss each other even if given money. Yet here they are, sitting on the floor, inches away from each other, eyes can't tear away from their lips. It's like they're playing a dangerous game unspoken, a game that they probably don't mind at this moment.
Seoyeon can't remember if Nakyoung leaned in first, or if she was the one to pull the older girl in by her collar. They don't really care, especially when their lips start crashing, full of neediness and want. They're already in too deep, too deep to back out, yet not deep enough to address what they're doing.
There is something about the way that Seoyeon's hands are pulling Nakyoung's hair, the way that Nakyoung's hands are situated firmly on Seoyeon's waist, and the way they're kissing like they can't get enough of each other. Seoyeon pulls away when she feels like she's going to run out of breath.
“Seoyeon-”
“Don't stop. Kiss me until I forget, kiss me until I stop hurting, kiss me until both of us are satisfied, kiss me to the point where it ruins our relationship. I don't even care anymore, just keep going.”
Without letting the older girl utter out a word, Seoyeon pulls her in again, capturing her lips like it belonged to her. Nakyoung holds her close, so close that air can't even pass through the gap between them. They stay there for a while, then Nakyoung carries the blonde to her room, where they spend the next few hours soothing the younger girl's pain until her mind is filled with Nakyoung and Nakyoung only. They kiss until their lips are swollen, bleeding at the corner, covered in a mess they made.
Maybe it's worth it to kiss the pain away, maybe it's worth it to help Seoyeon forget, maybe it's worth it to go with Nakyoung's idea, maybe it's worth it to further ruin their already ruined relationship.
It all works out, anyway. Nakyoung will always be there to kiss Seoyeon until she forgets about her ex, and Seoyeon will always be there to kiss Nakyoung until the pain goes away. They'll always be there for each other, in ways they shouldn't be. Because all they care about is each other, and that is enough.
