Isaac -

⏰

Isaac woke up to the blare of his alarm. “7:30” he read aloud and groaned. He defiantly got out of bed and plodded down the hall to the bathroom. Isaac never liked what he saw in the mirror, he still looked— every time. Some would call it staring. Staring at his dull k9’s, at his short ears, his golden brown eyes. Everything that reminded him he was at a lower status then everyone, every thing that reminded him he was an omega.

“No wait, that was one of your rare good ideas” Elizabeth-Faith says to Emery, “let’s go to the fall fair this weekend. I’ll bring my boyfriend and Connor can bring Ashleigh.” She says that last part in a teasing tone that makes Isaac’s chest grow tight. Connor quickly adds “Ash and I aren’t even that close, we’re just talking. Plus she doesn’t like fairs…I don’t think. I mean-” Isaac promptly zones out at the Ashleigh talk. It’s not that he has issues with her, god no, hes known her practically his whole life. He just has an issue with her being with talking to Connor. I mean Connor’s his best friend, and they hang out constantly, he has a key to Connor’s house for fucks sake. So why would Connor need a girl. Both Isaac and Ashleigh were omegas so it’s not that. They were both relatively sporty, so it wouldn’t be that. And Isaac thought he was pretty pretty. ‘I mean what is she that I’m not’ Issac thought. ‘I know Connor better than her, hell better then he knows himself. I mean if it’s the girl thing then maybe I- what the fuck?’ Isaac stops himself. No, he shouldn’t be thinking like this, he should just be happy for his best friend, he should just stop thinking about it, he should just- just, “fuck!” He slams his hand against the table. Connor stops his Ashleigh spiral  to look at Isaac. Feels like the whole world stops to look at Isaac. “My bad” Isaac stammers “forgot to do my homework for my next class…uh what were you saying about Ashleigh?” “Right” Connor states, but continues his talk, never taking his eyes from Isaac’s.
