“Izuku…” Katsuki called out to him, standing rather ominously at the door. Their outdoor training had been cut short due to the first snowfall obscuring their surroundings. The rest of their classmates had already settled into their own rooms, complaining about the cold and how much they missed their beds.
Izuku turned around to face the blond, who began inching closer as he did so. “Is something wrong?” He asked, tilting his head at Katsuki’s unusually peaceful demeanour. Although, after Izuku’s whole vigilante-era ordeal, he had noticed Katsuki becoming much more considerate to him as the days passed. It was very noticeable after the final war against AFO last year—Izuku losing his quirk in the fight. Katsuki had been taking care of him constantly, making sure the embers were still intact.
Unfortunately, the embers soon faded and Izuku had permanently lost his quirk.
“It’s cold.” Izuku raised an eyebrow as Katsuki nuzzled his head into the crook of his neck. Sighing, he smiled and ruffled the soft blond locks next to his face.
“Do you want to stay with me in my room tonight? Aizawa had cancelled all our training sessions for the week because of the sudden change in weather, so we can sleep in tomorrow.” He heard Katsuki hum in delight.
Izuku lightly pushed the other off his shoulder and they made their way to his dorm room. The blond seemed a little out of it and Izuku barely had a vague idea as to why. He closed the door behind him and joined Katsuki—who had already shoved himself in earlier—on the bed.
“I missed you,” Katsuki mumbled as he leaned on his back. “So much. It’s as if I don’t see your damn face everyday.” He huffed, giving a dry chuckle.
All the lamps in Katsuki’s room were turned off and his room was casted in darkness. The only source of light came from the streets, seeping through the window and the numbers on his alarm clock that glowed.
“Izuku…” Katsuki called him again, the yearning evident in his voice. “I’ve really missed you. So much.” He sighed, pulling the other closer.
“I know. I’m here now, no? It’s alright, Kacchan.” Izuku cooed softly, not exactly understanding why Katsuki was rather clingy on this snowy evening.
“It’s just, I feel like tonight is a rather silent one. And I wish I could stop time. Stay with you alone, in a space nobody knows of, where nobody could find us.” Katsuki peeled his eyes open and Izuku briefly noticed scarlet eyes staring at him in the dim light.
Izuku giggled lightly, “What’s up with you today, Kacchan?” His laugh softened out as he placed a kiss on the blond’s forehead.
“I guess I’m feeling rather romantic.” Katsuki snorted, wrapping his arms tighter around Izuku’s waist.
The freckled boy hugged him back, bringing a hand to blond locks to pet it gently, humming as he felt Katsuki’s heart beating. “I want to stay in your arms forever, ‘Zuku. You’re so warm.” He buried his nose into Izuku’s chest, breathing deeply as if to consume the other entirely. Izuku hummed, shushing Katsuki into slumber.
Their training sessions hadn’t gotten any less vigorous even after the final war, and Izuku started to feel the weariness come over his body.
Sighing, Izuku shifted in the bed, Katsuki lifting his head up to look at him. “Stay with me, ‘Zuku. Don’t leave…” He nearly whined, voice low as if he lacked the energy to speak.
“I’m not going anywhere, Kacchan. Don’t worry.” Izuku wrapped his arms around the blond’s neck, gently pulling at the strands that gathered at his nape.
A moment of silence passed before Katsuki sniffed. Izuku’s eyes immediately shot open, worried that the boy beneath him might be crying. “I think…” Katsuki trailed off, huffing. Izuku stayed quiet to let him continue. “The more the snow piles up outside, the more unstable I feel my mind become.” He concluded, sniffling slightly. Izuku felt warm droplets spill onto his shirt. Katsuki was crying.
“Kacchan…” Izuku pushed his head up lightly, purring at the way tears slipped out of red eyes ever so slightly. “Don’t cry. It’s okay, I’m here.” Izuku was still rather confused. Why was Katsuki so emotional?
“I’m scared. After the war… after you lost your quirk… I’ve been so scared of losing you. I thought we could compete against each other forever. That I’d be on your heels, chasing you for the rest of our lives. I just-” Katsuki cut his own rambling short with a hiccup, his eyes streaming. “I love you so much, ‘Zuku. I need to keep you at an arm’s length forever.” He inhaled sharply, gripping onto the fabric of Izuku’s shirt tightly.
Izuku’s eyes softened, filled with regret and awe. “Kacchan, I’ll never leave you, I swear,” He promised, placing a kiss on Katsuki’s temple. “I love you too.” Katsuki looked up at him and smiled wobbly.
“You’re my Christmas present, ‘Zuku.” Katsuki snorted, tears still dripping out of his closed eyes. “Christmas present? You’ve known me since we were in diapers, Kacchan.” Izuku breathed airily, a laugh slipping past his lips.
“I want you to stay for Christmas, dumbass. It’s cold, and I want to be someone you can lean on. Someone who can warm you up. Isn’t it cozy in my arms?” Katsuki mumbled under his breath, burying his nose into the crook of Izuku’s neck once more as he crawled a little higher up the bed.
Izuku gasped softly. “Okay,” he swallowed, “Do you want to stay like this for the whole night?” Izuku placed a gentle kiss on the crown of messy blond.
Katsuki tilted his head up. “Can we have a movie marathon?” Izuku giggled, nodding. Katsuki’s eyes glinted as he hurriedly got up from the bed, not exactly pulling away from the other entirely.
He grabbed his laptop and scrolled through his list of movies before mindlessly clicking on one of them. “I wish I had a mistletoe in my room so we could kiss.” Katsuki said as he put the device atop his pillows. Izuku raised a brow.
“I mean, we could kiss even without the mistletoe, no?” He snorted, laying on his stomach as the blond played the movie before joining Izuku.
“Yeah, but wouldn’t it be better if I had a mistletoe?” Katsuki sighed dreamily and Izuku stared at him, infatuated. Scarlet eyes met his emerald ones.
Katsuki locked his gaze onto Izuku rather than the movie that was already playing. Red glinted in the bright light coming from the screen, Izuku’s eyes snapped down to the way Katsuki had licked his bottom lip.
“Do you want to?” He asked, not peeling his gaze away from the blond’s lips.
“I wouldn’t have said that if I didn’t want to.” Katsuki grinned and Izuku loved the way his sharp canines looked. Izuku brought his eyes back up, locking eyes with Katsuki once more.
He blinked once, then twice, and sighed. Izuku leaned his forehead onto Katsuki’s, their noses brushing against each other. Their breaths were intertwined as the noise from the movie had begun to fade away, a bubble building up between them.
“You smell amazing, ‘Zuku.” Katsuki whispered, closing his eyes.
At this distance, Izuku could hear the way his heartbeat had mixed together with Katsuki’s. The thumping sound became all the more deafening yet offering comfort as well. To both of them, that is.
Izuku sighed, closing the gap between them. He gently placed his lips onto Katsuki’s soft ones, but it seemed the blond had other plans.
Ah, so that’s what it was.
Katsuki kissed him back hungrily. It was rough and messy, contrasting his attitude since they got here. Izuku hummed at the way the blond licked his bottom lip, parting his mouth open and slipping his tongue in.
The heat between them exploded and Izuku felt his breath getting quicker, his lungs lacking air. “K-Ka–” The blond swallowed his voice, not letting him speak. Katsuki was a starved man, and he really, really missed his lover.
He pulled away after a while, heaving his breath. “I love you so much, ‘Zuku.” He said before going back in to continue kissing Izuku, not letting the other even have time to properly catch his breath. Izuku whined into the kiss, his senses tingling as electricity sparked throughout his body.
His toes curled at how amazing the kiss was. He had vaguely felt heat pooling elsewhere but Izuku didn’t have time to even think about it before Katsuki had pinned him down onto the mattress. “I love you.” He whispered, kissing his freckled cheek softly.
“I love you too, Kacchan.”
The pair continued their movie marathon up til the sun had begun to rise. “Kacchan, it’s getting late. Or well, early.” Izuku rubbed his eyes. Katsuki yawned into his chest, groaning. “And? We’re free today. Unless your dumbass misheard.” He snorted. “My hearing is fine, thank you!” Izuku pulled on his cheeks lightly.
A knock interrupted them abruptly. “Midoriya? Mr. Aizawa said the weather’s fine today so we have practice! He said it would be until late in the evening. I hope you had enough sleep because we have to leave. Now. Also, have you seen Bakugo?” Iida’s voice resonated from behind the door. Well, fuck.
They did not last the whole day. Unsurprisingly.
