Summary:

Ever since the days of Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin, the founders of Hogwarts, who were known to be best friends, but then fell apart, because of differences in opinions on who should be allowed to be accepted in Hogwarts, the rivalry between the two houses-Gryffindor and Slytherin has continued up to the present day.

That is why the burning question on everyone’s mind was:

What kind of a spell did Kim Seokjin, Gryffindor’s breathtakingly beautiful, tall 6th year student perform to be able to grab the attention of Jeon Jungkook, Slytherin’s pride, the 5th year Seeker capable of everything as well as the resident bad boy, wooing everyone with his devilish looks and charisma, but never giving in to anyone’s advances.

Notes:

Okay, so I love Harry Potter books, I mean I practically grew up on them, but it had never occurred to me that there could be fics with characters set in Hogwarts. I was really surprised when I saw quite a few fics about it, so I thought to myself how I needed to write one as well and this idea immediately came to my mind. I hope you like it, this is my first time writing such a long one-shot, I usually write multi-chaptered fics. Also, I usually write things mostly from Jin's point of view, but this time I wrote it from Jungkook's point of view heheh :)

Oh yeah and another thing:

Even though students enroll in Hogwarts at the age of 11, in my story they enroll at the age of 14, which means that Seokjin who is now a 6th year is 19 years old as well as Namjoon and Hoseok while Jungkook, Taehyung and Jimin who are all 5th year are 18 years old.

Work Text:

It was a well known fact that Gryffindor and Slytherin students were never too fond of each other.

Both houses, as well as their residents, were led by the principals of their founders which caused the hatred between the two houses to continue even long after the founders of the houses have left this world.

The main conflict arose when Salazar Slytherin wanted only pure-blood wizards to be accepted into Hogwarts, idea which didn’t sit right with his best friend Godric Gryffindor who was “ the champion” for Muggle-borns.

After their disagreement their friendship ended, and the two houses have been rivals ever since.

With the House Cup being held every year, the resentment between the houses could be felt every year, with every house trying to win it.

While Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw competed as well, they were more on the neutral side, always earning the 3rd and 4th place in the House Cup, while Slytherin and Gryffindor always battled it out for the first place with Gryffindor snatching the title every year.

However, this year Slytherin had an ace in their sleeve.

Finally, they had a new seeker for their Quidditch team and they were sure that the House Cup was going to be theirs this year.

Now that their previous Seeker, Lee Taemin, had graduated and left Hogwarts, the title of the Seeker went to the brilliant Jeong Jungkook.

Jeong Jungkook was a 5th year student and he had most of Slytherin traits.

He was ambitious and resourceful.

Despite the fact that Seekers were commonly the smallest and lightest players on the team, Jungkook, who was skinny, but still fit and muscled as well as strong, managed to prove himself as a very competent Seeker with his fast movements and strong desire for victory.

He had perfect grades in all subjects and it was said that he never lost in any competition.

He was known to be a very competitive person which was a great trait that Slytherin needed to finally snatch the House Cup from Gryffindor’s hands.

The only thing that he lacked in Slytherin standards was his lack of cunningness.

Sure, he loved pranks and he could be evil at times, but he always played fair.

He didn’t find any sort of joy in winning in a deceitful way which many Slytherin students resorted to.

He was a pure-blood like everyone in Slytherin, and even though his father was strict, he taught Jungkook to always win in a right way, always quoting Israelmore Ayivor who once said:

“Every game has rules. Obey the rules, win the game; disobey the rule, lose it! The game of life has loser and winners. Play fairly and win!”

And so Jungkook did follow this advice, despite the disapproval of some Slytherin students, but nobody dared stand up to him since he was strong and powerful, so they feared him and respected him.

The funny thing was that he could have even ended up in Gryffindor.

When he had first gotten into Hogwarts, he didn’t know which house he would belong to.

His father was from Slytherin and his mother was from Hufflepuff, she was another reason why he usually did the right thing since Hufflepuff valued fair play.

So he had always guessed that he would be in Slytherin, after all his father told him that he had most of the traits that Slytherin students had.

Much to his surprise when the Sorting Hat was placed on his head it let out a very amused hum.

Only Jungkook could hear what he was saying and the Sorting Hat said that he had a lot of traits for Slytherin, but he was also very brave, even to the point of recklessness, and short-tempered which were common traits of Gryffindor students.

While the Sorting Hat was pondering on where to place him, Jungkook yawned and spotted his best friend Taehyung, who got into Ravenclaw just a few minutes ago at their table.

He was sitting next to this tall guy with a bleached Mohawk who was waving his wand in front of him, accidentally dropping it, causing a small explosion and setting Taehyung’s orange hair on fire, making Jungkook burst out laughing since his friend started flailing his arms and the bleached Mohawk poured water from the bowl on Taehyung’s hair in order to extinguish the fire.

Except that it wasn’t water.

It was wine and it made the flame on Taehyung’s hair even bigger which was finally extinguished by the Head Boy of Ravenclaw, Max Changmin.

While everyone was focused on the unfortunate event, the Sorting Hat was focused on Jeon Jungkook who was laughing at his friend’s misery and thus decided that Slytherin is a better House for him.

Jungkook also had a reputation of being Slytherin’s resident bad boy with a cold heart.

His devilish looks, raven black hair, chiseled jaw, big dark brown almond eyes and dark red lips as well as his fit body, muscled arms and slightly thicker thighs made all the girls swoon over him as well as most of the guys.

However, he didn’t seem interested in love endeavours, or anything related to love.

He rejected every girl and guy that had approached him during his 4th and 5th year, saying how they weren’t his type, but in fact he found all those lovey-dovey stuff annoying and utterly boring.

All he had on his mind right now was being the best Seeker he could be and bringing Slytherin the House Cup this year.

During his first game as a new Seeker, he managed to catch the Golden Snitch about 10 minutes after it was released into the game, thus winning 150 points and bringing victory to their team.

After that he became even more respected in Slytherin and his reputation was known in all of  Hogwarts.

However, with fame came envy.

Many of the students started resenting him for being so popular and successful, some of them even being from Gryffindor, afraid that with this new Seeker, Slytherin might actually have a chance of winning the House Cup this year.

That is why, one night as Jungkook was returning from late night practice of Quidditch, feeling dead-beat, he failed to notice 3 dark shadows following after him.

He was headed towards the Slytherin common room which was located in the dungeons of Hogwarts, but suddenly he was roughly pushed in one of the dark, narrow passages by three tall guys.

He immediately reached for his wand, but one of the guys was quicker, saying with an evil chuckle.

“ Not so fast, Slytherin star.”

And Jungkook’s wand flew away towards the guy who used a spell to summon it, before Jungkook had a chance to grab it.

Even in the dim light, he recognized the red and gold colours of their capes.

Gryffindor.

“ What the hell do you want?!”

Jungkook hissed at the 3 guys who were chuckling, while he was trying to buy some time and think of an escape, which was going to be difficult since he was outnumbered and without a wand.

“ We want you to quit your position as a seeker.”

The leader of that group said, the one that took his wand.

Jungkook snorted.

“ You must be fucking insane! I will never do it!”

“ Well then I guess we will have to make you quit.”

his voice turned sinister and he raised his wand towards Jungkook who felt frozen.

Shit, what should I do?!

But, it was too late, the tall guy started chanting something while the other two started laughing and Jungkook closed his eyes, expecting the full impact when he suddenly heard a modulated, but stern voice say.

“EXPELLIARMUS!”

causing the 3 guys to curse and shout loudly.

Jungkook cracked his eyes open only to have his breath stuck in his throat.

A tall, broad-shouldered guy with mahogany hair, emerged from the darkness, his hair shining chestnut underneath the dim light streaking through his silky hair, the red streaks in his hair bringing warmth to his already extremely pleasant face. His big round eyes with his orbs which were a mixture of hazel and honey shone brightly, but his gaze was hard and unrelenting. His dark pink plump lips were pressed in a tight line as he held his wand directed to the 3 figures retreating quickly from the scene of the crime and it was as if he was thinking of what to do, before he yelled out.

“ ACCIO!”

Jungkook stared at his wand being pulled out of the hand of the guy that took it from him, swiftly flying through the air into the hands of his savior.

The guy clicked his tongue in annoyance when those 3 cowards managed to disappear from their sight and he shook his head, before approaching Jungkook, the two of them finally locking gazes.

All of the previous coldness from his eyes disappeared, now replaced by crinkling of those doe eyes as he looked at him, a small, apologetic smile forming on his lips as he extended his hand towards Jungkook, handing him over his wand while saying.

“ I am sorry about this. I can’t believe they were such cowards to surround you and attack you like this. But, don’t worry, I know exactly who they are and if you would come with me to Professor Dumbledore to report them, I am sure they will receive a severe punishment for their actions.”

Jungkook took the wand from the guy’s hand, eyeing him suspiciously, before he said.

“ Why did you help me? You are from Gryffindor and so are they while I am from Slytherin. And now you even insist on reporting them? Isn’t that betrayal? Doesn’t that make you a traitor?”

The Gryffindor student’s eyes became rigid once again, staring at Jungkook with such intensity that he thought his gaze would stay carved in his memory forever as he spoke in a flat voice.

“ Betrayal? The only betrayal here was made by them. When they chose to act like cowards led by envy, instead of following the code of bravery and heroism which Godric Gryffindor deemed as important qualities of Gryffindor. And I will not let anyone gang up on someone if they are doing it for the wrong reasons, whether they are my fellow students, or friends. Now, will you come report them with me?”

Jungkook stared at the guy in front of him.

They were about the same height so Jungkook could see each line of his face, and every single one of them was perfect.

He stared at the Gryffindor guy for a few more seconds, before he made his decision and spoke in a determined voice.

“ I shall not report them. You do it if you want to, but then you will lose points which could cost you this year’s House Cup. All in all, next time I will be ready, and I won’t need your help. Also, be ready to lose the House Cup this year, whether you play fair, or not. I am going to bring us victory using fair play only.”

The Gryffindor guy started at him for a few more moments with a slightly surprised look, before he chuckled in amusement and said.

“ As expected of a Slytherin student. Ambitious and too proud to accept anyone’s help. I guess it was a bruise to your ego to be disarmed by Gryffindor students and then saved by one. Do whatever you see fit, and I will also do whatever I feel is right.”

while walking away from Jungkook, before he turned around once more, saying with a smile.

“ I don’t care about the House Cup. I care about justice. If you win the House Cup this year then I will congratulate you, considering you want to win it in the right way which is what I respect. Good luck, Jeon Jungkook.”

Jungkook stared at the older boy’s retreating figure until it was finally gone.

“ Oh you will definitely congratulate me, Kim Seokjin.”

he murmured under his breath, a smug grin spreading across his lips as he headed towards his common room.

The next morning at breakfast in the Great Hall, even though it was usually tradition for the members of the houses to eat together, Jungkook’s best friend Taehyung, the quirky, but extremely intelligent Ravenclaw 5th year student didn’t care about this tradition, squeezing himself in between Jungkook and a pissed off 2nd year Slytherin.

Taehyung didn’t pay attention to him, having a much more important thing on his mind.

“ What’s up Tae?”

Jungkook asked with a small smile when he saw his friend’s excited face.

He knew that expression.

It was usually the expression Taehyung had when he found out the latest gossip and was dying to tell it to Jungkook who wasn’t particularly interested in such stuff, but had to pretend to care so as to not make Tae all depressed.

“ You won’t believe what I heard!”

Taehyung whispered excitedly, his eyes sparkling.

Seriously, he was like a little puppy sometimes.

“ What?”

Jungkook faked an extremely curious expression.

“ Kim Seokjin, you know that gorgeous 6th year Gryffindor student, apparently caught 3 Gryffindor guys cornering some Slytherin guy yesterday night and reported them to Mc Gonagall! Because of that, Gryffindor lost a whooping 100 points, putting Slytherin in the lead for the House Cup with an advantage of 50 points. So, anyways do you know which Slytherin guy was attacked?”

Jungkook had to fake an indifferent expression so that his friend wouldn’t realize what was happening.

However, inside of him he felt all sorts of things and had all sorts of questions.

He glanced towards the Gryffindor table where Kim Seokjin was currently stuffing his beautiful face with fried chicken, but still managed to look attractive.

As if he sensed someone watching him he lifted up his gaze and looked around the hall and Jungkook quickly averted his gaze, returning his attention to his friend.

“ How do you know that?”

he asked.

“ Well, Namjoon told me. He and Jin are kind of best friends so Jin told him that, but when Namjoon asked him who the Slytherin boy was that was ambushed, he just said that his lips were sealed and that only he and Mc Gonagall knew about that. I wonder what’s up with all the secrecy. If I was in his shoes, I would have stated the Slytherin guy’s name just to humiliate him. Imagine how everyone would laugh at him for being ambushed by 3 Gryffindor guys, and then saved by the stunning Gryffindor student.”

Taehyung said with a laugh, and Jungkook really had to restrain himself from hitting him.

“ Well, I don’t know who the Slytherin guy is and also I don’t know why Kim Seokjin would do something as stupid as losing their points for someone from Slytherin. Now if you will excuse me I have Quidditch practice.”

Jungkook said in a slightly irritated voice as he got up from the table with Taehyung, clueless as always, yelling after him.

“ OKAY! TALK TO YOU LATER JUNGKOOKIE!”

He will kill him.

He told him not to call him by that nickname in public.

He let out a frustrated sigh as he was walking to practice.

He just couldn’t figure it out.

No matter what Kim Seokjin said about justice, Jungkook didn’t believe that he would really risk losing points and even betraying his fellow students, even though they were the lowest scum.

He could even be deemed as a traitor, so why would he risk his reputation as well for some Slytherin guy?

It was beyond his comprehension.

Sure, Jungkook believed in fair play as well, but this was really brave and heroic.

Hm, the traits of a real Gryffindor.

He had heard about Kim Seokjin even before last night.

I mean who hadn’t.

He was in his 3rd year when he heard Kim Seokjin’s name being mentioned in their common room which was surprising.

It was surprising, mostly because the two guys who were talking about him weren’t talking about him in an ill manner which was usually how Slytherin students talked about any Gryffindor student.

These two were actually talking about how gorgeous the 4th year Gryffindor student was.

“ I have never seen anyone so stunning, why the hell does he have to be in Gryffindor?”

one guy said.

“ I know, right. If he was in Slytherin, or any other house other than Gryffindor, I would totally hit on him. He is one fine piece of ass.”

the other guy said dejected.

Jungkook’ curiosity was peaked by that conversation.

How incredibly attractive did that Gryffindor dude have to be to even make two Slytherin students swoon after him?

However, he did not want to ask questions about that Seokjin guy, because that would just be weird.

A few days after he had heard that conversation he had been hanging out with Taehyung in the Ravenclaw Tower, playing  video games when a deep voice interrupted them.

“ Aigoo, Taehyung, study a bit, won’t you? After all we are known for our academic achievements and if you continue playing games you will burn every cell in your brain.”

Both Jungkook and Taehyung turned arouned, met with the blonde Mohawk’s dimpled smile, the same guy that accidentally burnt Taehyung’s hair during their opening ceremony, the one year older Kim Namjoon, the smartest guy in the history of Hogwarts with the amazing IQ of 148.

Unfortunately, even that high IQ couldn’t save him from being a walking disaster, always causing some accident with his clumsiness and natural gift for destruction, mostly his own.

“ I don’t need to study, even with minimal effort, I get perfect scores. While you are termed as a genius and yet you still try hard to keep your grades high, so I wonder who the real genius is?”

Taehyung answered with a smug grin.

The two of them always bickered about who was smarter, but in fact they were pretty close.

Namjoon was about to make some snarky remark when he was interrupted by a high-pitched giggle.

Both Taehyung and Jungkook became curious, especially when Namjoon clicked his tongue and said.

“ Jin, you are supposed to be my best friend and support me, and not encourage this disrespectful kid.”

Suddenly, the most beautiful guy, scratch that, the most beautiful human being Jungkook had ever laid his eyes on, emerged behind Namjoon, covering his lips with his slightly crooked, but endearing fingers while his eyes crinkled into adorable crescent little moons as his chest heaved up and down while he produced those cute, high-pitched noises.

“ Sorry Namjoon, but you got to admit that the kid is pretty witty.”

“ Never.”

Namjoon muttered and sulked.

Taehyung had a very satisfied smirk, and Jungkook was sure he had lost his ability to speak, staring at the gorgeous boy in front of him who smiled at him and Taehyung, before waving at them as Namjoon pushed him out of the dorm.

After a few seconds, Jungkook somehow managed to regain his senses, asking in a dazed voice.

“ W-who was that?”

Taehyung was back to playing the video game and looked back, before he said in a nonchalant voice.

“ Oh that was Namjoon Hyung’s best friend. The most stunning boy in Hogwarts, Kim Seokjin, a 4th year Gryffindor student.”

Jungkook’s heart sank.

No wonder those 2 Slytherin guys were enchanted by Kim Seokjin.

He was unreal.

And forbidden.

He was a Gryffindor student.

No matter how gorgeous he was, or how much his endearing laugh resonated in Jungkook’s ears, he was his rival, and that could not be changed.

Jungkook returned to playing a video game, feeling how there was no point in hooking-up with guys anymore, because now, after he had seen perfection in person, nobody will ever manage to live up to it.

His days of whoring around were officially over.

Okay, not whoring around, but this year he did have many passionate hook-ups and one-night stands.

After all, he was a healthy 16-year old young man with needs that needed to be satisfied.

But, after seeing that angelic face, somehow all of his desire for other guys disappeared.

He decided to focus only on academic achievements as well as winning that House Cup, since he couldn’t focus on winning that Gryffindor boy over.

It just went against his principles as a Slytherin Golden Boy.

Later on, he was even more sure of that when he found out that Jin ( which was what people usually called him) was a half-blood since his mother was a muggle while his father was a  former Gryffindor student.

That made his decision even firmer.

He didn’t have anything against muggles since his mother’s best friend was a muggle, but in Slytherin there were just purebloods and mixing with anyone who wasn’t a pureblood was looked upon as something filthy.

Of course, Jungkook didn’t care much about it, but there were just too many obstacles standing  between him and the pretty Gryffindor boy who wasn’t worth ruining his reputation over.

Especially, since he didn’t know anything about him except that he was extremely smart and kind.

Jungkook forgot about him completely, rarely seeing the pretty Gryffindor boy until yesterday when they crossed paths for the first time ever since that day in Jungkook’s 3rd year in the Ravenclaw’s Tower.

And now Jin was an even bigger mystery to him.

Why didn’t he rat me out to everyone?

Why didn’t he let everyone laugh at my humiliation, Jungkook wondered.

What is he after, what is his ulterior motif?

Jungkook was feeling restless.

He hated owing someone, especially the beautiful Gryffindor boy.

He needed to know why Jin did what he did.

That is why when his practice ended he roamed the hallways in hopes of bumping into him, but no luck.

He couldn’t go to their common room in Gryffindor’s Tower and ask to see Seokjin.

It would seem too suspicious and everyone would know that Jungkook was the Slytherin boy Jin had helped.

He had searched everywhere, and was about to give up when he remembered one place where he hadn’t visited.

 The Hogwarts Library.

He entered the library which was dead quiet with just a few students in it and his eyes lit up when he spotted Jin, slumped over some large book of spells and potions.

Bingo, he thought, as he moved towards the Gryffindor boy, panicking a bit when Jin got up and went to the farther corner of the library, disappearing between the shelves.

Shit, shit, shit, Jungkook cursed as he searched for Jin until he practically bumped into him causing Jin to gasp in surprise as Jungkook accidentally knocked out a few books out of his hands.

“ Damn, s-sorry.”

Jungkook murmured as he bent down to help Jin pick up the books.

At that moment Jin widened his eyes a bit, whispering.

“ Jungkook? What are you doing here?”

“ Can’t I read, or study?”

Jungkook answered, faking offence, feeling extremely taken aback when the pretty boy in front of him started blushing and stuttering apologetically.

“ No, yes, I mean , uh… Sorry, it’s just that I am here often and I have never seen you in here before, so I was shocked. I didn’t mean that you are stupid, or anything. But, even if you were that is fine! I have nothing against stupid people. Once again, not that you are I just, uh, okay I will stop talking now.”

He finished, looking away from Jungkook, his ears turning pink and Jungkook stared at him with wide eyes, before he burst out laughing.

Jin looked at him in shock, then he asked.

“ W-what?”

“ Nothing, ahahah, it’s just, who knew that you, the big justice fighter, were actually an incredibly awkward person ahahahahaha!”

Jungkook said through tears from laughing too much.

Jin pouted and started sulking, murmuring.

“ Well, I am sorry that I disappointed you by not being some serious, stuck up, know-it all guy.”

In that moment Jungkook stopped laughing, staring at Jin who was pouting and then the words just left his lips without thinking.

“ You did not disappoint me.”

At that moment Jin looked at him with parted lips, both of them feeling awkward until Jungkook cleared his throat and scratched his neck as they both stood up with Jin holding his books.

“ Anyways, I want to ask you why you didn’t tell everyone that it was me you saved last night?”

Jungkook asked with a serious expression.

Jin blinked a few times and responded.

“ Why would I tell them? You didn’t want to report those guys, but I couldn’t sit still and let them get away with it. However, I respect your decision of not wanting to report them, so I kept your identity a secret. Don’t worry only me and professor Mc Gonagall know that it was you and I swear that we won’t tell it to anyone, so you don’t have to worry about it.”

Jungkook stared at him a few moments, not able to respond.

Was this guy real?

He respected my decision, and also did the right thing despite the consequences?

“ You do know that some people call you a traitor and a snitch after what you did?”

Jungkook blurted out, remembering hearing some Gryffindor guys and Hufflepuff girls calling Jin like that while they talked about what he did, but he instantly regretted saying it when he saw how Jin flinched and how his gaze became a bit sad, but then he said in a tight voice.

“ I did what I thought was right. Everyone has their own opinion and I am not going to apologize for what I did. If they want to think about me as a traitor they can, but I am not one, no matter what they, or even you think about me.”

and he turned around, walking away from Jungkook, and Jungkook didn’t feel right about it, and he didn’t want such a painful look adorning Jin’s face so he yelled out after him.

“ I DON’T THINK LIKE THEM!”

and then felt embarrassed when he realized what he had said.

However, at that moment Jin turned around, and smiled sincerely, saying.

“ Well, I am glad. I knew you were different than most people. See you later, Jungkook.”

Jungkook stood there a few more moments wondering what had just happened.

Why did he say that to Kim Seokjin?

But, it was true that he didn’t think Jin was a traitor, even though he had called him like that when Jin saved him.

However, that was mostly because his pride was hurt and he was confused, but when he thought about it later on, he realized what an amazing thing Jin did and if he were in his shoes he wasn’t sure that he would be able to do what Jin did.

He would feel like he was betraying his fellow Slytherin students, but then again just because they were all in Slytherin it didn’t mean that he agreed with all of their opinions and ways of doing things.

He was also against dirty play, just as Jin was and it seems they were more similar in that aspect than he was with any one of his so-called Slytherin buddies.

What an irony, he thought as he was returning to his common room, remembering the way Jin got all flushed and flustered when he thought he had called Jungkook stupid and tried to explain himself.

Jungkook smiled to himself.

Kim Seokjin wasn’t unreal and perfect.

Sure, his looks were out of this world, but he was actually awkward and dorky and above all he was extremely adorable.

Well, shit.

It was better when Jungkook thought of him as some sort of an unattainable being, because now, with this insight into his real personality, Jungkook felt worse than ever.

Kim Seokjin was no longer some illusion, some unobtainable being.

He was a real guy made of blood and flesh just like him.

And he was within Jungkook’s reach, but Jungkook didn’t dare extend his hand towards him.

It was risky.

It was forbidden.

It was wrong.

Although, when he thought about it, it didn’t seem wrong.

Well, he just won’t think about it and problem solved.

Yeah well easier said than done, Jungkook thought with a grumpy face when he found himself 3 days later at Hogsmeade to celebrate Taehyung’s birthday, with a kind Hufflepuff boy Jimin there and a loud Gryffindor Hoseok who was currently chugging down his 3rd butterbear at Three Broomsticks.

Seriously, Taehyung had the weirdest bunch of friends.

Only he could be social and weird enough to have a best friend who was from Slytherin, a shy friend from Hufflepuff, a crazy alcoholic friend from Gryffindor and… Oh shit…

“ Taehyung, what is HE doing here???”

Jungkook hissed in Taheyung’s ear when the door of the pub opened and 2 tall figures walked in, with Taehyung waving at them cheerfully.

“ Oh well, Namjoon Hyung is my friend even though we often bicker and also Jin Hyung is pretty sweet so I invited him as well, because why not.”

Taheyung answered with a smile.

BECAUSE WHY NOT?

Of course that only Taehyung would think like that and just invite people that he doesn’t hang out with, never mind that that person is the most beautiful guy in school that everyone wants to hook up with and that Jungkook just wants to completely erase from his mind, and this most surely isn’t contributing to his plan of removing any traces of Kim Seokjin from his brain.

It certainly didn’t help that Jin’s hair was full of snow and that he looked so cute as he shook his head, trying to get the snowflakes out of his fluffy hair, running his fingers through it, making it all messy and sexy and it didn’t help that his plump lips were now a darker shade of pink than usual from the coldness.

It most certainly didn’t help that when he took off his coat, his oversized mauve woolen sweater kept sliding off his shoulder, revealing his perfectly defined sharp collarbone.

Lord, have mercy upon me, Jungkook prayed in his head, taking a large sip of his butter bear when Jin sat next to him, smelling like apples and cinnamon.

Seriously, what guy smelled like that?!

Apparently, Kim-Fucking-Seokjin smelled like something you wish to stuff in your mouth, that’s who, shit…

“ Hi, Jungkook, having fun?”

was whispered in his ear while everyone were chatting happily, not paying attention to the internal struggle Jungkook was going through, feeling close to screaming when that warm breath tickled his ear, that soft voice echoing in his ear, making him feel all weird and sick to the stomach.

He must have drank too much butterbear he figured and he forced himself to put on his poker face as he turned around, which was a huge mistake, because he was met with those big warm light brown eyes, twinkling, staring at him expectantly, getting slightly disappointed when Jungkook just said.

“ Mhm.”

and turned around to tell something to Taehyung, feeling a knot in his stomach when he saw how Jin’s face fell after his indifferent response.

Why was Jin even bothered about it?

It’s not like they were friends, or anything?

And why the hell am I then bothered that he was bothered??

Ignoring Jin turned out to be much easier than Jungkook thought.

Mostly it was because after Jungkook had ignored him, Jin directed his attention to Jimin, chatting with him happily, causing Jungkook to feel a bit agitated, although he had no idea why.

When he glanced at some point at Jin, he noticed the redness on his cheeks, the way he slurred his words and the ways his eyes were half-closed as he leaned in to tell something to Jimin who blushed like a school girl.

Get a grip little Hufflepuff boy, Jungkook thought mockingly.

Then he widened his eyes when he saw 6 empty butterbeer bottles in front of Jin.

Holy shit, wasn’t that a bit too much?

Jungkook had 3 and he was already feeling a bit dizzy, but damn 6?!

He must be totally wasted!

“ Okay, it’s time to go!”

Namjoon said as he put Taehyung, who was definitely wasted as he sang some song ( was that the opening theme of Pokemon??), on his back, carrying him outside.

The Hufflepuff boy got up as well, a bit wobbly, but he was sober.

Unfortunately for him, that crazy Hoseok guy wasn’t, which became obvious when he threw his arm over the startled Hufflepuff boy’s shoulder, with a smug grin on his face as he whispered into his ear.

“ Hey cutie, take me to a room. Mine, or yours, it doesn’t matter. Although your room, your bed would be much more pleasing.”

He said and wiggled his eyebrows, biting the little black-haired Hufflepuff boy on the ear causing his face to become as red as a tomato as he tried to pull Hoseok out of the pub.

Jungkook took a deep sigh, thinking how stupid that Jimin guy was for falling into Hoseok’s trap.

Seriously, just because some guy is drunk and clings to your shoulder that doesn’t mean that you should…

He was interrupted from his thoughts when he heard that soft voice slurring.

“ S-sorry…”

At that moment he looked beside himself, and saw Jin apologizing to some shady looking guy, with fiery red hair in a black cloak, who he had obviously bumped into, judging by the way Jin was trying to push himself from the guy, who grabbed his hands, saying with a grin.

“ No need to apologize, beautiful. Hey I have never seen anyone as cute and as gorgeous as you, how about we go to my room and you show me what that pretty little mouth can do?”

the slimy guy finished with a suggestive grin, tracing his finger over Jin’s lips, and Jungkook reached for his wand, wrapping his hand around Jin’s waist protectively, pulling him towards himself, with Jin letting out a little squeak when his back hit Jungkook’s chest.

“ What the hell kid?!”

The slimy guy growled and Jungkook growled in an even more threatening voice.

“ Back off, you snake, or else I will turn you into ashes.”

The guy seemed to be reaching for his wand, but then he must have sensed that Jungkook was more powerful, because he clicked his tongue and went away annoyed.

“ Come on.”

Jungkook whispered in Jin’s ear, leading him out, his hand still on Jin’s waist.

When they got out Jungkook helped Jin put on his coat, considering that that sweater was too provocative and Jin was already too beautiful, but with that sweater he seemed too alluring and Jungkook was also a bit affected by the alcohol and he wasn’t sure that he would manage to threaten each guy that wants to lay his hands on Jin.

He must admit that even though Jin was light, it was pretty hard making him walk properly, because in his drunken state he kept leaning all of his body weight onto Jungkook who was struggling with keeping him from falling with his hand snaked tightly around Jin’s waist, while Jin’s hand was over his shoulder.

Somehow they finally made it to Hogwarts and luckily it was about 3 a.m. so nobody was up at that point except the ghosts.

Jungkook had to wait for 10 minutes until drunken Jin finished his silly conversation with Nearly Headless Nick who then kept on pestering Jungkook, asking him about the nature of his and Jin’s relationship.

Jungkook finally had it enough when Nearly Headless Nick teased him, saying.

“ Ooooh what a juicy piece of gossip, the Slytherin bad boy falling for the Gryffindor’s pretty boy, isn’t that a cliché?”

And then Jungkook took out his wand and yelled.

“AGUAMENTI!”

Shooting water at Nearly Headless Nick from his wand and of course nothing happened since he was a ghost, but it was enough to offend him and make him leave them alone as he cursed “ the rude Slytherin Seeker”.

Jimin somehow managed to convince Hoseok to go into his own dorm room, much to Hoseok’s dismay who tried to get into Jimin’s bed and pants, quite literally though since he showed his hand down the front of Jimin’s pants causing the Hufflepuff boy to shriek in fright and embarrassment, finally managing to get Hoseok to tell the Fat Lady the right password.

As the traumatized Hufflepuff boy was going down the stairs which Jungkook was currently climbing with much difficulty, with Jin’s head buried in his neck, as he trudged his feet heavily, the boy stopped and shot him a sympathetic look before telling him the password.

Okay, maybe the little dude wasn’t so bad, Jungkook thought.

“ B-bye Jiminnie!”

Jin slurred, smiling at the Hufflepuff boy, sending him a kiss in the air causing the boy to nod shyly.

Okay and back to hating the little midget, Jungkook thought, finally getting Jin to the top of the stairs in front of the Fat Lady which was currently asleep.

“ Okay, I can’t go in with you, but you can manage on your own, right?”

Jungkook asked Jin, a bit irritated with this whole situation.

“ Y-yeah, and Jungkook,t-thanks.”

Jin slurred his words, trying to look Jungkook in the eye.

“ Sure, no problem, I owe you at least that much.”

Jungkook said a bit awkwardly.

“ You do not owe me. I did what I did, because of my sense of justice. And today I acted immature. I am usually not like that, but I was kind of bothered by your cold response so I started drinking. A lot. I didn’t know what I did for you to act that way. I mean I know you must resent me for saving you and hurting your pride, but I don’t know… I kind of thought you didn’t mind at least talking to me… I guess I was wrong… Sorry, won’t happen again.”

Jin finished, his head bowed slightly, while he was fidgeting nervously, before he turned around to the Fat Lady.

He got drunk because I was ignoring him?

That is how bothered he was?

He thinks I hate him??

“ Wait!”

Jungkook blurted out, taking Jin by the wrist who turned to him a bit surprised.

“ I am sorry, I was having a bad day and wasn’t really in the mood for conversation. But I… I don’t hate you… Not even close to that… And yeah, I mean we can talk sometimes…”

He finished, even though he wasn’t sure he meant it, because he was trying to avoid interacting with Jin  and not initiating it like he was doing it right now.

However, he couldn’t stand seeing those eyes so sad.

He didn’t care anymore about what he promised, seeing Jin’s lips curving into a little smile and he found himself smiling back.

“ I am glad…”

Jin said and launched himself onto him, pulling him in a tight hug, with Jungkook’s body going stiff.

He didn’t know what to do with his hands, too taken aback with Jin’s actions, so he just held them next to his body, not daring to move them and he felt  as if he was finally free when Jin pulled away, staring at him, his pupils a bit dilated and unfocused from the alcohol, but then he leaned in, pressing a kiss on the corner of Jungkook’s mouth, before pulling away and saying with a smile.

“ You are a nice guy.”

and turned away from him, telling the Fat Lady the password and getting inside his dorm room.

Jungkook stood on the same spot for about few minutes, his eyes wide, his lips parted, lifting his fingers and touching the spot where Jin’s lips had landed a few moments ago.

“ W-what?’

he mumbled, still uncertain what had happened, his heart beating faster than usual.

“ So, Nearly Headless Nick was right. The Slytherin’s resident bad boy fell for our gorgeous Gryffindor student –the kind Kim Seokjin, my oh my, what now?”

The Fat Lady sing-songed and Jungkook started blushing and rushing down the stairs.

He had tried so hard not to get into any contact with Kim Seokjin ever since he first saw him and felt smitten, and NOW THIS WAS HAPPENING?!!!

What did he do to deserve such misery?!, he groaned in his head rushing to his bed, wanting to sleep forever and never face that guy again.

Okay, so not only did he face Jin the next day, but also he had to be in the same room as him for couple of hours?!

Of course it was Taehyung’s fault again.

In the afternoon, he went to the Ravenclaw Tower to visit his best friend, and almost wanted to run away when he stepped in and saw that familiar face.

Unfortunately, Taehyung’s subtlety prevented him from doing that as he screamed cheerfully.

“ JUNGKOOKIE, COME HERE, JIN HYUNG MADE ME A CAKE FOR MY B-DAY!!!!!!”

and then everyone seated there ( the drinking gang from yesterday) looked at him, and he saw Jin’s cheeks becoming a bit pink as he looked away.

Why, though?

Surprisingly, the little celebration of Taehyung’s b-day was actually very enjoyable.

That Hoseok guy was just as loud and as crazy when he was sober, dancing to some girl group songs and screaming making everyone burst out laughing, even him.

Luckily, he was seated opposite Jin and they had no chance to talk, but they exchanged a few shy glances, both of them immediately looking away when they locked eyes.

Jungkook felt weird in his presence.

It was harder to breathe, his palms got all sweaty and he wasn’t sure what he was supposed to say to sound cool.

Never did he experience something like that.

What if Jin had casted some spell on him?

What if he was actually Gryffindor’s secret weapon to make him unable to play Quidditch??

What if this was all an act and Kim Seokjin was actually an evil… His thoughts were interrupted when he heard that adorable giggle and his gaze lingered on Jin whose nose was currently covered in vanilla frosting ( courtesy of Kim Taehyung), and he took a large piece of the cake in his hand trying to get his revenge on Taehyung, but accidentally tripped and all of it landed on Namjoon’s head.

“ Oh God, Joonie, I am so sorry!”

Jin exclaimed although it was obvious he was trying not to burst out laughing at the sight of Namjoon all covered in vanilla and strawberry frosting who got up yelling.

“ YAH!”

but then, of course as the God of Destruction he was, he stumbled backwards as soon as he got up, landing with his butt on the floor with a painful cry.

Needless to say after this nobody could contain their laughter and as Jin was covering his mouth while giggling, Jungkook thought to himself sarcastically-oh yeah sure, he is an “ evil genius” sent from Gryffindor to destroy me.

The only way he could destroy me is with his cuteness.

Unfortunately, he was doing a pretty good job with that, Jungkook thought, feeling his stomach clenching as he watched the adorable boy in front of him now stuffing his mouth with cake, looking like a little cute chipmunk.

When the celebration ended and everyone went their separate ways, he was surprised when he heard somebody calling his name.

He turned around and Jin came running to him and panting a bit.

“ Uhm, I just wanted to thank you about taking care of me yesterday… I remember some stuff that happened through fog, but I hope I didn’t do anything stupid?”

He said in a quiet voice, gnawing on his lower lip, causing that shortness of breath in Jungkook’s body.

“ Uhm, no, you didn’t. Everything is fine.”

Jungkook said, thinking how it was best not to mention that kiss and hug so as to not make things even more awkward between them.

“ Oh… Good… Well, uhm, I guess I will see you around then?”

Jin answered with a smile.

“ Yeah… See you around…”

Jungkook said and quickly headed towards his room.

This was too much for him.

Someone like Kim Seokjin is not supposed to be so awkward, shy, endearing, adorable and beautiful at the same time, shit, and he most certainly isn’t supposed to be sending those dazzling smiles towards his way, making his poor heart skip a beat every time he does that.

Life was unfair towards him.

He had the attention of the guy everyone wanted, including him, and yet it was impossible for them to be together.

To make things worse, after that he hadn’t seen Jin for a few days and he became really prickly.

Nobody dared talk to him since he was in a bad mood.

He tried to find out something from Taehyung subtly, but for someone who is a student of Ravenclaw which prides itself in intelligence, Taehyung sure was stupid sometimes.

In his desperation, Jungkook even went as far as visiting the Library, but no use.

There was no sign of Jin.

He was returning from Quidditch practice one day, still irritated when he bumped into someone.

He was just about to release all his frustrations on that person when he saw those familiar warm eyes staring at him with a smile.

“ WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?!”

Jungkook blurted out angrily.

The pair of eyes blinked and stared at him surprised.

“ I w-went home for a few days, because my older brother was moving so they needed my help. I am sorry?”

Jin said apologetically, wondering what he did wrong.

Jungkook wanted to smack himself in the head.

Not only did he yell at Jin for no reason, but now Jin was even apologizing to him, real smooth Jungkook.

“ Okay, then. But, in the future you should let people know if you are going to disappear like that. I mean Taehyung was going crazy not knowing where you were, thinking that something bad had happened to you.”

Jungkook finished lamely.

“ Taehyung? But, I told him where I was going…”

Jin said confused and Jungkook stared at him in shock.

That bastard of his now EX-best friend wasn’t as stupid as Jungkook had thought.

He was a genius.

An evil genius set on making Jungkook’s life even harder than it already was.

There was a dead silence between them for a few moments before Jungkook scratched his neck and tried to play it cool.

“ Right… Yeah… Okay, well bye!”

he said and tried to walk away, but he stopped when Jin lightly wrapped his fingers around his wrist, whispering into his ear.

“ Don’t worry, in the future I will let you know…”

and squeezed his wrist slightly, before walking away with smile.

Jungkook’s wrist burned where Jin’s finger pads touched his skin, and yet he didn’t use any magic on him.

It was just the effect Jin had on him.

Damn it.

Over the next couple of weeks, he and Jin actually met a few times with Jungkook going to the library more often, just for study purposes of course, and if he ever ran into Jin there well that was just a bonus.

Jungkook started relaxing around him more and more, and he found himself really enjoying Jin’s company.

Jungkook himself didn’t speak much, he didn’t like sharing much, but in Jin’s presence he even talked more than usual.

Somehow it was easy to open up to him.

One day when they were returning from the library together, which earned them a few curious glances from the students passing by, Jin suddenly said.

“ Hey, so what are you doing for the upcoming Christmas holiday?”

“ Oh, just going home to my family and I am probably going to stay there for the whole week. What about you?”

Jungkook asked.

“ Oh, haha, well everyone is going to their homes, but I am going to stay here. My brother is now in Egypt, doing something with the muggles and my mom and dad left for a vacation to Hawaii, so there is no point in going home.”

he said a bit dejected and Jungkook felt bad for him.

Before everyone was supposed to go on the holiday and spend time with their family and friends there was a Christmas lunch at the Great Hall, before the train set off from the platform.

The hall looked breathtaking.

Warm, dry snowflakes were falling from the Enchanted Ceiling with fairies flying all over the hall with mistletoes in their hands, flying around in order to spot the couples and place the mistletoes above their heads.

Like every year, the feast was amazing. Tables were filled with various meat, from roast turkeys to beef and pork chops, as well as mountains of boiled potatoes threatening to topple over from silver bowls they were in.

All in all, it was magical.

Jungkook saw Jin for a brief moment who was hugging Taehyung and Namjoon, waving them goodbye as they both headed towards the train to visit their families.

Jungkook wanted to go over and bid his goodbye since they won’t be seeing each other for a week, but the sad look in Jin’s eyes as he watched his friends leave stopped him.

His chest ached and he was sure that it would ache even more if he went to say goodbye to Jin.

So, he turned around and went to his room to get his suitcase and go catch his train.

Jin was in his common room.

All alone.

He was bored and he felt a bit lonely.

He had never spent Christmas alone.

Christmas was always his favourite holiday, but this year that wasn’t the case.

It was no fun spending it alone, in the common room with no one by your side.

Sure, Namjoon did invite him to come celebrate with his family, but Jin didn’t want to be a bother.

He knew that Namjoon and his father had quarreled some time ago, so he thought that this was the best time for them to patch things up, and if Jin had accepted his offer that might not have been possible.

All of his friends and Jungkook will be back in about a week so this is no big deal.

Maybe he could use this time productively and just study for the exams.

God, he was such a nerd sometimes.

He was just about to grab a book on Advanced Potion-Making by Libatius Borage when he heard someone trying to get into their common room.

That was weird.

Maybe somebody had forgotten something and couldn’t remember the password?

He went to check it out and when the Fat Lady decided to let the “intruder” ,as she called the guy that was waiting on the other side, inside the common room, Jin’s heartbeat quickened.

“ J-jungkook, what are you doing here?”

he stuttered out in a state of utter disbelief.

Jungkook was still feeling rather anxious about his decision, but when the Fat Lady finally granted him access to Gryffindor’s common room and Jin appeared at the door, in a woolen white sweater and dark blue skinny jeans, his chestnut hair falling over his forehead, looking like an angel, every trace of doubt he had about his decision to stay disappeared.

He must have been mesmerized for real, because he hadn’t answered Jin’s question who now had a worried look as he said.

“ Jungkook? Is everything okay?”

Finally, he got back to his senses, blinking a few times before he said.

“ Yeah. It’s just that I decided to stay here after all, so I thought since everyone is gone that maybe we could spend this Christmas together? I mean if you want. If not that’s fine I can…”

he started explaining frantically, but was cut off when a huge smile graced Jin’s lips and his eyes sparkled as he pulled him by the wrist inside of the common room, saying happily.

“ I WOULD LOVE TO!”

Jungkook let out a sigh of relief, although he knew that by doing this he was rushing into his own doom, but somehow he pushed back those thoughts, letting himself be absorbed by Jin’s warmth on his wrist, slowly spreading to every part of his body.

After all he was from Slytherin and sometimes Slytherin students broke the rules, just like he was currently breaking the unwritten rules of the Wizarding World on who should hang out with who, or who should like who.

“ Sit here, make yourself comfortable while I bring us some sweets and hot cocoa.”

Jin said with a warm smile and Jungkook felt as if he was melting.

When Jin returned he sat next to him on the large velvet sofa with a lion weaved from the golden stitches on every arm of the sofa, and he covered them with a huge blanket, handing Jungkook a mug of delicious hot cocoa.

“ Should we watch a movie?”

Jin asked, while Jungkook kept thinking how close they were sitting, and if only he moved his hand a bit to the right their hands would brush, but he didn’t dare do that, so he said.

“ Sure, play anything you want.”

In the end, Jungkook actually realized how great it was that he had stayed.

Sure, he missed his family, but he and Jin were having a blast, constantly talking during the movie, and throwing sarcastic comments at some chick-flick they were watching that Jin found hidden under Hoseok’s bed.

They decided that when Hoseok comes back they would embarrass him in front of everyone.

Jungkook was pleased to know that there was a slightly evil side to Jin as well.

He must have fallen asleep at some point during the movie, because when he opened his eyes he was still on the sofa and the mahogany tall case clock near the fireplace indicated that it was already 2 a.m.

The room was dim, the only light coming from the fire in the fireplace and the colourful lights shining on the Christmas tree near the window.

He heard a little sigh and felt movement on his thighs.

He looked down quickly only to have his soul leave his body at the sight in front of him.

It seems that he wasn’t the only one who fell asleep.

Jin was in deep slumber, his fringe tousled, the light from the lights reflecting on his chestnut hair, bringing out the golden streaks from his hair making it a warmer shade, his long eyelashes fanning his cheek and his plump lips slightly parted with his head on Jungkook’s lap and his body sprawled across the sofa, with one of his hands on Jungkook’s thigh.

Jungkook didn’t dare move so as to not wake him although he felt his heart was going to jump out of his chest.

He stared at that peaceful angelic face, before he mustered up the courage and threaded his fingers gently in Jin’s soft hair.

He slowly started moving them, enjoying the silky feel on his fingers, nearly having a heart attack when Jin sighed in his sleep and smiled and Jungkook was in such deep shit.

He was so screwed.

He closed his eyes, throwing his head back, while his fingers still danced in Jin’s hair, the movement lulling him back to sleep despite his worries.

When Jungkook woke up in the morning he was a bit disoriented.

It took him a few minutes to realize that he fell asleep on the sofa in the Gryffindor common room.

But, where was the Gryffindor angel?

“ Jin? Are you here?”

he asked, but there was no answer.

He got up, stretching his aching back when someone behind him whispered.

“ Boo…”

Jungkook jumped away, clutching his chest only to see Jin giggling at him.

“ Holy shit, my life flashed before my eyes!”

Jungkook exclaimed, trying to calm himself.

“ Oh come on, as if Slytherin’s most competent student is afraid of anything.”

Jin teased with a smile.

Jungkook felt heat creeping onto his cheeks and he pouted slightly.

“ I am not, but I was just surprised.”

He was sure that his cheeks were burning when Jin casually said.

“ How are you so cute?”

before he went to the Christmas tree.

Jungkook thought how he could ask him the same thing.

“ Close your eyes.”

Jin suddenly said.

“ Why?”

Jungkook asked suspiciously.

“ Just do it, trust me.”

Jin said.

“ Well, after what you just did I don’t know if I can trust you.”

Jungkook said.

“ Jungkook, come on!”

Jin whined.

“ Fine, but you better not pull some prank on me.”

Jungkook sighed and closed his eyes.

He felt Jin’s hand on his, trying to keep an emotionless face although inside he was experiencing a storm of emotions until something was placed in his hand and Jin said.

“ Okay, you can look.”

Jungkook opened his eyes and stared at the little pink box in his hand and then at Jin who was fidgeting and his ears were becoming pink as he bashfully said.

“I…bought you a present…I don’t know if you will like it, though.”

Jungkook swallowed hard before he opened the box.

Inside there was a silver ring.

“ Specialis Revelio.”

Jin chanted and the ring transformed in a scarlet-gold lion and emerald green-silver serpent connected together into a ring.

Jungkook stared at it in awe.

“ I made it for you, and I know that Gryffindor and Slytherin are supposed to hate each other, but I don’t feel like that…At least not towards you, so since our emblematic animal is a lion and yours is a serpent I decided to connect them as a sort of bond between us. When you cast this spell again it will turn the ring into an ordinary one in case you don’t want people to know about it.”

Jin explained.

Jungkook had never seen anything so exquisite as the ring in his hand.

No, actually, he was lying.

He saw something more exquisite.

It was standing in front of him in the form of a thoughtful divine being.

“ It’s amazing, Jin.”

Jungkook whispered, not noticing the way Jin stared at him, his lips parted.

Jungkook put the ring on his index finger and it fit perfectly.

“ Actually, I got you something too… But, it’s nothing compared to what you gave me…Now, I actually feel silly after you made such an amazing gift for me and I just bought you one…”

Jungkook said, feeling embarrassed.

“ No, don’t be! I mean whatever the present is, the fact that it is from you is the only thing that matters.”

Jin said quietly, his face completely flushed right now.

Jungkook chuckled and went to get the small box out of his coat.

“ Here. It’s not much, but when I saw it, it somehow reminded me of you.”

Jungkook said awkwardly and gave Jin a rectangular black box.

Jin opened it and inside was a silver bracelet.

When he put it on his hand the words in ink appeared on it.

“ I am for justice, no matter who it’s for or against.”

Jin read the words quietly.

“ I just thought that it described you perfectly as well as our encounter.”

Jungkook added, wondering if Jin liked it.

Soon enough he got his answer when Jin said a bit breathless.

“ Jungkook, nobody had ever bought me something this beautiful. Thank you, I will cherish it.”

Jungkook let out an embarrassed laugh, feeling a bit high after the praise.

After the gift exchange they decided to go to Hogsmeade which looked as if it was created out of some Christmas card.

The crystal flakes glided down the roofs of shops and pubs, the gentle breeze carrying them in every direction, making the village seem even more enchanting than it already was.

As they walked through the High Street, after visiting one of the pubs and having a glass of butterbeer, their hands slightly brushing, causing jolts of electricity to shoot through Jungkook’s body every time that happened, he sneaked a glance at Jin.

The snowflakes shimmered on Jin’s reddish hair strands, his cheeks dusted a soft pink from the cold, his lips parted slightly and a bit blue from the coldness.

Jungkook took a deep breath, determined to finally make the first move, moving his pinky towards Jin’s in an attempt to lace their fingers and just a bit more…

“ THERE YOU ARE!!!!!”

a deep, but loud voice surprised them both and Jungkook quickly moved his hand away, before he even had the chance to link their fingers.

Jin, unaware of Jungkook’s internal struggle, smiled widely at the 4 approaching figures.

Jungkook cursed angrily under his breath when their friends pulled them both in a tight hug.

“ What are you doing here?”

Jungkook asked in a slightly irritated voice.

“ Well, we didn’t want Jin Hyung to be alone during the holiday so we came back. We had no idea you would be here.”

Taehyung said and arched his eyebrow suggestively at Jungkook who just looked away, pretending not to understand what he meant by that.

Taehyung let it slide ( and he should since he ruined everything!) and they all went back to the castle, following Jimin to the basement where the Hufflepuff dormitories and common room were located since they had never been there.

The holiday was fun, but Jungkook didn’t get to spend much time with Jin, well much alone time, since their friends never seemed to leave them alone.

Time passed by quickly in between classes and Quidditch practices and before Jungkook knew it, it was already time for the final battle between the houses for the House Cup.

The last Quidditch game between Gryffindor and Slytherin was in 2 days and the winner of the game would also become the winner of the House Cup for this year.

Jungkook had been practicing like crazy for it that he hadn’t even seen Jin for about a week.

He was just about to go to the library and look for Jin when the Slytherin Quidditch team’s captain Marcus Flint said he wanted to have a word with him.

Jungkook felt puzzled, but nevertheless went to hear what his captain had to say, although deep down he couldn’t stand him.

“ Jungkook, the final game is in 2 days which is also the deciding factor in the battle for the House Cup. I need you to be focused and thus I need you to stop your little outings with Gryffindor’s Kim Seokjin.”

Jungkook’s throat went dry as he croaked out.

“ W-what?”

Flint continued in an unrelenting voice, his gaze hard.

“ I don’t know what exactly has been happening between the two of you, and I don’t want to know. It’s disgraceful. How do you think your father, a former Slytherin student and a pureblood, would feel if he heard you were fooling around with some Gryffindor half-muggle instead of trying your best as a Seeker to win us that House Cup? Also, your skills have been decreasing over this past few weeks and you haven’t been as focused during practices as much as you should be. Have you officially become a traitor? For a Gryffindor pretty boy? How pathetic. Maybe you aren’t as ambitious as I thought you were.”

He finished, roughly brushing his shoulder against Jungkook’s causing him to stumble a few steps back.

When Flint left, Jungkook stood in the same spot for a while, feeling the chills going down his spine.

Was he right?

Did I really get myself get so distracted by Jin that I started betraying my own teammates?

Sure, he had been spending most of his free time with Jin, watching movies, playing video games, studying in the library, chatting about anything and everything…

During practice he often caught himself thinking about what lame joke Jin had told him and laughing about it causing him to become slower on the field and in catching the Golden Snitch.

Shit.

He promised himself that he would put Slytherin above anything and he let some guy ruin it all, and to make things worse it was a guy from Gryffindor.

He must put a stop to this, right this instant.

He clenched his fists and marched towards the library, immediately pulling Jin by the wrist who was sitting there, studying as always.

When they were in one of the secluded hallways he let go of Jin’s hand.

“ Jungkook is something wrong?”

Jin asked, confused by Jungkook’s cold behavior.

“ Yes. You are.”

Jungkook answered harshly, still riled up by Flint’s words.

“ I am what?”

Jin asked.

“ You are what is WRONG!”

Jungkook yelled causing Jin to flinch from surprise, but Jungkook couldn’t stop the words coming out from his mouth.

“ Ever since I started spending time with you I have been unconsciously drifting away from Slytherin, from my teammates, from my goals and ambitions, and I AM SICK OF IT! The Quidditch final game is in 2 days and everything that I had worked so hard for, before you appeared in my life depends on my performance as a Seeker during that game. You might not care about the House Cup, about who wins or loses, but unlike you I HAVE AMBITIONS, I DO CARE! So I think we need to stop this whatever it is. Gryffindor and Slytherin are just too different and the students from our houses should not mix. At all!”

When he finished his chest was heaving up and down rapidly and he felt better to have finally said everything that had been bothering him for a while.

That is until he saw the look of pain on Jin’s face.

It was a hurt and pained expression, the one he had never seen on him, and knowing that he was the cause of it made his heart throb.

“ I had no idea you felt like that all this time. I am sorry that I was the cause of all your misfortunes. Don’t worry I will respect your wishes and never approach you again. Good luck with everything, I hope you find what you are looking for, Jeon Jungkook.”

Jin said in a weak, but determined voice, taking off the bracelet Jungkook gave him and letting it fall to the floor in front of Jungkook, before walking away.

Jungkook stared at the bracelet in front of him, crouching down and picking it up, feeling as if somebody had ripped his heart out.

He went to his dorm, and straight to bed.

“ What have I done?”

he whispered, feeling his eyes prickle before he buried his face in his pillow.

At last the day had come.

It was time for the final battle between Gryffindor and Slytherin for the House Cup.

The last Quidditch game.

If Slytherin wins they also win the House Cup, otherwise Gryffindor is the winner.

Jungkook was ready.

He would bring Slytherin that first place and nothing and no one could stop him.

The bleachers were filled with students from all 4 houses, cheering loudly.

All four balls were released from the central circle.

The game had begun.

The Golden Snitch was not yet released and Jungkook was on his broomstick in the centre of the field, above everyone else.

His eyes roamed the field briefly until he felt the colour being drained from his face.

What in the world was Jin doing here?!

He was the keeper, flying on his broomstick, guarding the goal post, his gaze briefly meeting Jungkook’s, his eyes turning sad before looking away to defend the post from the Quaffle that was flying in his direction.

He managed to hit the Quaffle away with one swift motion of his broomstick and the crowd went wild.

Jungkook felt proud, but why was Jin here?

The thoughts were swirling at the speed of light in his mind.

Since when did he play Quidditch?!

He did remember Taehyung telling him that the Gryffindor team needed a substitute keeper, because the original one had his wand broken and as he performed a spell in one of the classes it backfired on him, turning him into a screeching Mandragora. He would be fine, but he needed to be in the pot, buried in ground since that was the only way to keep a Mandragora silent. They would reverse the spell in a few days.

That is probably why Jin stepped in as a Keeper.

He was doing a pretty good job, but every time that Quaffle flew towards him, Jungkook couldn’t breathe, always afraid that something would happen to him.

He didn’t need this distraction, not now when it was the final game and he needed to bring victory to his team.

He stopped zoning out when the Golden Snitch flew right in front of him.

In a flash, he focused his attention on the small golden ball, flapping its wings, mocking him and he flew with full speed after it.

The Seeker for the Gryffindor got knocked out of his broom by a Bludger that got out of control and now nothing was stopping Jungkook from catching the snitch.

He was so close to it, he extended his hand and he could almost touch it and in that moment he looked down towards Jin who had the biggest smile on his face as he watched Jungkook proudly and Jungkook’s heart fluttered in an instant, only to have blood freezing in his veins when he saw one of the Slytherin Chasers flying towards Jin at full speed, leading a Bludger that was chasing him towards Jin.

A loud cry escaped Jungkook’s throat.

“ JIN, WATCH OUT!!!!”

But, it was too late.

Jin had no time to avoid the Bludger especially when the Slytherin chaser grabbed him by the shoulder, pushing him towards the Bludger even though it was prohibited to do that and Jungkook stared in horror at Jin’s lifeless body falling through the air after being hit by a Bludger.

He had two choices.

Either to catch the Golden Snitch which was just within his reach and thus secure the first House Cup for Slytherin and be celebrated for years, or to lose the cup and save the love of his life.

There was no choice really, because as soon as he saw Jin being hit by that Bludger his heart took over him and he turned his broom towards Jin, flying through the air faster than he had ever flown, praying to make it in time, and just as Jin’s body was about to hit the ground Jungkook managed to catch him in his arms.

“ Jin, wake up!”

he yelled desperately, seeing the huge cut on Jin’s forehead from which blood was oozing, Jin’s face being paler than ever, his eyes closed, his body limp in Jungkook’s arms.

Jungkook could hear the curses and shouting of his Slytherin fellow mates, but he didn’t care.

All he cared about was the Gryffindor boy, so he flew to the Hospital Wing with Jin in his arms, flying in the room with patients, begging Madam Pomfrey to heal Jin.

He put him on one of the beds and he was kicked out and told to wait outside.

He was going mad with no news about Jin’s condition and then Taehyung and Namjoon rushed in and Jungkook hugged Taehyung, sobbing into his arm.

“ It’s all my f-fault, if I h-hadn’t been a jerk and t-told him t-that…”

“ Shh, Jungkookie, it’s fine, calm down, Jin Hyung will be fine…”

Taehyung whispered into his friend’s ear, him and Namjoon exchanging tender look of understanding.

They were sitting in front of the Hospital Wing, Jungkook was already dehydrated from the tears that kept rolling down his cheeks since he came in with Jin in his arms.

Finally, madam Pomfrey got out and went to them.

She put a hand on Jungkook’s shoulder and said.

“ He will be fine. I healed him, but the cut was pretty bad so he will need to rest for a few days. One person can see him now.”

Jungkook’s legs gave out and he fell to the floor, burying his face in his hands from relief.

“ Jungkookie come on, go to him.”

his best friend said and pulled him up, pushing him towards the door.

Jin was lying in the last bed at the end of the room.

His eyes were closed and he had a bandage around his head, his hair falling over it.

It would seem as if he was wearing a headband if not for the blood on it where his cut was, making Jungkook’s steps shaky as he approached the bed.

He sat on the edge of the bed next to Jin, careful not to wake him up.

He looked so peaceful.

He intertwined his fingers with Jin’s gently, placing a small kiss on the back of his hand, whispering.

“ I am so sorry. Because of me you got hurt. I promise never to hurt you again. Forgive me.”

and he felt tears streaming down his cheeks once more as he quietly sobbed.

His breath hitched when he felt fingers entangling in his hair, massaging it lightly as a soft voice whispered.

“ What is there to forgive? You saved my life and even lost the most important thing because of me. I should be asking for your forgiveness.”

Jungkook lifted his gaze, meeting Jin’s warm light brown eyes, and he spoke in a sincere voice.

“ No. I saved my most important thing.”

Jin widened his eyes, his lips parting in a small “ O” and Jungkook couldn’t wait any longer as he leaned in slowly, tilting Jin’s chin slightly with his index finger, before he finally claimed those plump lips that had been haunting him for many nights.

Just as he had imagined they were soft and delicious. Jin’s left hand rested on his chest while he placed his right hand on the back of his neck, pulling him closer until their chest were pressed against each other. Jungkook drew in a sharp breath as his hands cupped the sides of Jin’s face, his fingers running up and down it gently, caressing it, as he moved his lips against Jin’s, parting them, nuzzling Jin’s mouth with his own, their shallow breathing mingling with Jin melting underneath him, into him, softly moaning into Jungkook’s mouth when Jungkook moved his hand to the back of Jin’s neck, kneading it, making Jungkook lose control with that alluring sound, before deepening the kiss, his tongue sliding into Jin’s mouth carefully, losing all of the inhibitions holding him back when Jin’s tongue met his own, teasing him with light touches , before retreating it,  causing Jungkook to lose himself in Jin, kissing him with such intensity that he felt as if he was going to pass out on the spot.

At that moment everything went still around them.

The only thing that existed at that moment was them.

They pulled away, staring at each other tenderly, breathing together, finally being fulfilled.

Jungkook leaned in kissing Jin’s forehead, then his temples, then his nose and finally pressing a long, gentle kiss on his plump lips, making Jin giggle, before pulling him into another kiss, stealing his breath away.

He lost the game for the first time in his life, but it didn’t feel like it was a loss, because he gained something much more important.

He gained Kim Seokjin, the guy he was madly in love with.

Honestly, he didn’t care anymore about the rivalry, or the fact that they lost the House Cup because of him, all he cared about was the guy he was currently lacing his fingers with while listening to his cute little story about his door Jjangu.

He could listen to Jin whole day and night he thought and smiled as he continued staring at his boyfriend with a look of adoration as they walked through the castle when Jin finally got released from the hospital.

That is why everyone wondered what kind of spell, or potion did Kim Seokjin cast to make Jeon Jungkook stick to him all the time, looking at him like a love-struck fool?

If only they knew that no spell, or potion was involved.

The reason why Jeon Jungkook was acting like that was because he was in love.

In none other than Gryffindor’s gorgeous 6th year student Kim Seokjin.

And love is much stronger than any potion, or spell.

Notes:

I usually write fluff and smut, but here I just thought that only fluff would make it better. But, I was thinking of making a sequel maybe? With smut in it? I don't know, depends on your comments so let me know if you would like a sequel to this with jinkook smut in it ;)

UPDATE: I made a sequel, it is called Ask and you shall receive, here is the link to it: http://archiveofourown.org/works/7767625
