It had been a while since Will had seen the town of Hawkins Indiana. Well, to be fair, it had been a long while since Will had truly seen anything. You see, there had been a battle. A war between the Upside Down and the gang. In that final war, a mysterious pole found its way into Will's left eyeball. And, in his pain and hysteria, Will ended up clawing out his other eye while trying to end the pain. This ended up leaving him totally blind, with both eyes rolled back in his head. Everyone thought he was dead, even Will believed he was for a little while. But what no one knew was that he was still alive, and that when they closed the gates they left him stuck in the Upside Down.
Luckily, Will still had some powers leftover from when he fought Vecna using 001's powers. Using his powers, he trained a young demodog to be a seeing dog. Will crafted a special leash to use when walking with the dog. Will also practiced his skill of seeing throught the demodogs eyes, and would run around following the dog. One day, he found a couple of bikes at Eddie Munson's old trailer, and learned how to ride his bike while seeing through his dogs eyes. Will ended up calling his dog Wheels, as he was the only way Will could still travel across the upside-down relatively quickly.
Anyways, it had been a very long while since he found himself stuck. There was no real way of telling time, as the Upside Down was an endless night, and stuck on the day he was originally taken. One day, while he was returning home from a bike ride, he was pulled by the dog through what at one point was a wall. Once he walked through, he found it easier to breathe and felt sunlight peaking across his skin. Will Byers had flipped. Looking through Wheels' eyes, he recognized where he was. The memories of this place would forever haunt him and his family. He was in Hawkins Lab. He followed his dog out the front door, and hopped back onto his bike. It was time to find Mike.
