Chapter Text

“Oh look!” Felix says, stopping to point at a window across the street. “It's a psychic that can draw people's soulmates!”

“I don't need to go in there!” Laughed Jisung, linking his arm with who he already knew was his soulmate. He and Minho walk off to another shop down from them.

Felix grabbed Hyunjin arm, who grabbed Seungmin, and the three of them jogged across to the psychics shop.

“Why am I being dragged into this?” Seungmin whined, trying to wiggle out of Hyunjin's grasp.

“It's for fun!” Felix said brightly and Hyunjin just laughed in agreement.

The shop bell dings as the three friends step inside, getting smacked in the face by the mixed smells of way too many herbs. The three boys look around; Felix with his award-winning smile, Hyunjin still laughing, and Seungmin absolutely not wanting to be anywhere near what they're about to be doing.

“Hello! We’d like soulmate drawings!” Felix called for anyone inside.

A door toward the back opens and a tall man in a purple cloak walks into the room. Hyunjin takes a step backwards toward the door and is quickly grabbed by Seungmin. “No, Hyune, if I'm in here, so are you.” He laughs.

“Me first!” Felix rushes to the table where the psychic sat down. “This sounds so fun!”

Sengmin and Hyunjin sit down on the couches closer to the shop door, the bell rings as Chan enters after seeing them inside. He flops on the couch next to Seungmin.

“What are you doing?” He laughs, seeing Felix across the room. “Whoa, that guy is tall.”

Hyunjin sighs dramatically, “Do you believe in soulmates, Channie? I guess that psychic can draw our soulmates.”

Chan hums, still watching Felix, “I mean, I guess I do but I've never really thought about it much. How accurate do you think this guy is?”

The purple cloaked psychic seems to be done as he says that, handing the piece of paper he was drawing on to Felix, who just stares at the drawing like it's made of gold.

“Thank you…” Felix says quietly, gently folding the drawing and putting it into his pocket. “What do I owe you?”

The psychic laughs and a gravelly voice comes out, “We can talk about that after I’m done with your friends.” He looks up and gestures for one of the others to approach the table.

Seungmin puts his hand up, “Not me, I’ll go last.” He says, Felix sitting next to him on the couch.

The other two look at each other but don't move, like they’re having a silent disagreement about who actually wants to see how truthful a psychic can be anyway.

The psychic laughs again, “The taller of you two, it’s your turn.” he says, causing Hyunjin to jump and Chan to laugh too.

Hyunjin slowly stands up, takes off his sweater and tosses it on the couch where he was sitting. He walks hesitantly to the table and sits down in front of the psychic, who he can now see has the craziest green eyes he has ever seen in his life. The psychic takes his hand for a moment, lets out a small hmph, lets go and starts drawing. Hyunjin watches as the shape of what looks like a woman forms on the paper, at least he thinks it's a woman, it doesn't matter to him either way. He can hear Chan and Seungmin questioning Felix behind him, but Felix seems to be refusing to show them what his drawing is.

The psychic made a soft sound, capturing Hyunjin's attention again: he was done with the drawing and handed it to him.

“Thank you.” Hyunjin said softly, standing at the same time, to which the green eyed psychic just smiled.

“I guess it's my turn,” Chan stood as Hyunjin joined his friends by the couches. “How was it?” he whispered.

Hyunjin smiled, “Surprisingly not as scary as I thought it was going to be.” he whispered back, Chan patting his shoulder walking past.

Once seated, the psychic also grabbed Chan's hands for a little longer than he had the others. “Hmm…” said the psychic in his gravelly voice, “You’re certainly an interesting one, I’ve never come across this before.”

The room goes silent as the psychic starts to draw, like they were holding their breath. Chan sat silently, confused but watching the psychic work. None of the others spoke from the couches, waiting for what felt like forever for Chan's turn to be over. The psychic with his purple cloak and frighteningly green eyes was on to a second piece of paper, drawing a second person for Chan's soulmate. Multiple soulmates: is that even possible?

“This is taking longer than it did for you.” Seungmin says, nudging Felix. “Yours didn't take this long either, Hyune.”

Felix laughed, nudging Seungmin back, still watching Chan across the room. “I swear he drew mine so fast I couldn't even watch.”

“Maybe yours was just so obvious, he just needed to draw it to remind you of what you already knew.” Hyunjin said, sparing a quick glance to the other two next to him.

The mysterious psychic, finally done with many drawings for Chan, handed him the pieces of paper. Three?? Chan thought How could I have three soulmates?? He stood, thanked the psychic, and walked back to his friends. Chan didn't dare look at the drawings yet, he folded them gently and pocketed them the same way Felix had before.

Last was Seungmin, who stood as Chan reached them. “I hope you’re ready, Seungminnie,” Chan said, glancing back at the table across the room, "It's definitely an interesting experience.”

“Ready as I can be.” Seungmin sighed and he too walked to sit with the strange psychic man.

Just like with the others, the psychic grabbed Seungmin’s hands before he started to draw. He held them for only a split second before saying “Hmm, another interesting one.”

“Wait. What?” Seungmin said, turning to look back at his friends “What is even going on right now?”

The others laughed and the psychic in his weird purple cloak carefully drew the final soulmate drawing of their group. It wasn’t long before he was handing Seungmin the drawing with a small smirk, making Seungmin both amused and scared.

“Thank you.” Seungmin stood up looking at his drawing and let out a soft gasp. Well, shit. He thought, turning around to walk back to his friends. Chan walked back to the table where the mystery man sat to make sure they paid for his services, but the psychic just laughed and stood. “I’ll let you pay if I’m wrong.” He said, like a man who has never been wrong in his life. The purple cloaked, green eyed, weirdo winked and walked into the back of the store and closed the door. Everyone froze, no one daring to say a word.

Hyunjin stood, pulling Felix by the sleeve up with him, “Lets go, that was way too weird.”

The four escaped the shop and went to find the rest of the members.

~Later~

“Come on Felix!” Jeongin said, back in one of their hotel rooms, “Show us! Show us! I bet your soulmate is pretty! Wait! Are they ugly?”

All eight members of Stray Kids are crammed into the living room of Chan's hotel room; Changbin draped across a chair, Felix and Jeongin on the floor against the couch, with Hyunjin and Chan behind them, Seungmin sitting on Changbin in the chair, Minho and Jisung laying on the floor with their legs intertwined.

“Do you want to laugh?” Seungmin says, distracting from Felix “I’ll let you see mine, it can't be true, it's too crazy.”

Seungmin pulls his folded up drawing out of his pocket and hands it to Jeongin. Changbin pushes him to the floor so he can sit up, “I want to see too!” he yells and Seungmin makes a soft oof as he hits the floor.

Jeongin unfolds the piece of paper he was handed, Chan, Felix, and Hyunjin leaning over his shoulders to see too. They collectively gasp.

“WHAT?” Hyunjin practically screams, “Seungmin! That is crazy, that is definitely the last person I expected.”

Jeongin is speechless, staring at the drawing with Felix still on his shoulder also speechless.

“Well then,” Chan says, pulling the drawing out of Jeongin's hands, “That does look suspiciously like you doesn't it?”

Jisung hops up from the floor and squishes onto the couch to see the drawing of Seungmin's soulmate, Minho follows, sitting on the arm of the couch. Jeongin is still sitting on the floor, hands frozen in the position from holding the paper, he hasn’t blinked.

“Innie…” Felix says, elbowing him “Earth to Yang Jeongin.”

Jeongin blinks multiple times before he finally screams, “ME?! SEUNGMIN’S SOULMATE IS ME?!”

Soon, everyone is laughing and Seungmin’s soulmate drawing is sitting lonely on the table in the middle of the room. At some point, Hyunjin had tackled Jeongin causing both him and Felix to fall over, Seungmin was back to sitting on Changbin like nothing happened.

“Should we look at mine?” Chan says as he’s catching his breath “I was given three different drawings.”

“You got three? Is it possible to have multiple soulmates?” Minho sat up curiously, rolling Jisung off of him, getting a “hey!” from Jisung in response.

“I have no idea if it’s possible, Min.” Chan shrugged, pulling his own folded drawings from his pocket. He hadn’t even looked at them himself yet. The top drawing is a woman, one he has never seen before, he shuffles it to the back so he can look at the next one.

“Oh, well, that certainly is a surprise” He whispers to himself more than the others. Minho leans over to see too, letting out what seemed to be a laugh.

“Who does it look like?” Jisung whines from the floor, “I wanna knooowww.”

Chan turns the drawing stack around to show the others, revealing a drawing that looks almost exactly like Changbin. The younger boys erupt into a sort of chaos, laughter, screaming, someone sounding like they’re crying. Chan laughs himself, but doesn't even know what to say.

“Guys..” He says finally, “I still have another drawing to look at, you know.”

He pulls the papers back around to flip to the last one and freezes as he sees it.

“FELIX?!” Chan says somewhere between a laugh and a scream and turns the papers around again. More chaos ensues.

“ME?!” Felix screams too, “ME? What is going on with these drawings?!”

“Of course the Aussies are soulmates!” Seungmin laughs, smacking Felix's arm.

“These could also be platonic soulmates.” Hyunjin said simply.

Jeongin and Jisung are both on the floor at this point, holding each other and laughing so hard they’re crying.

Minho watching them, smirking next to Chan on the couch. “So that makes Innie as Seungmin's soulmate, Changbin, Felix, and a mystery woman as Chans,” He pauses to glance at Hyunjin. “What about you, dumpling, who does yours look like?”

“I was too nervous to even look.” Hyunjin signs, “Chan look for me!” He shoves his folded up drawing into the older one's hands.

Smiling, Chan unfolds the paper, seeing a similar drawing to one of his own. “Well, this just got more interesting.” He says, handing the drawing back to Hyunjin.

Hyunjin takes it, blinks once, takes a deep breath, blinks again and then looks up.

“Mine is Felix too.” he says quietly.
