Kim Dokja wasn’t as used to streaming as Yoo Joonghyuk was, and he wondered if his nervous energy was obvious behind his facade. Despite that, he tried to play it off and act like he knew was he was doing, and pretend each time he made a wrong move in the game was on purpose for a joke. At least the viewers found it funny, and additionally being annoying to Yoo Joonghyuk was always his favourite past time.
This time, however, he had to turn his face cam on for the first time. He didn’t mind…
No actually he did mind, he minded a lot. So why didn’t he refuse when Yoo Joonghyuk asked him if wanted to turn it on this time? Because he wasn’t paying attention to what the man was saying earlier and it was too late to back out now. And now he tried to act like thousands of people weren’t watching him.
The problem was the viewers did notice how he wasn’t reading the chat as much as he usually did. For most of the stream he would have a conversation with the chat and get distracted by the game. He’d often criticise Yoo Joonghyuk for being too silent and would brag about how he was holding the channel up with his great conversation skills.
The chat meanwhile tried everything to get his attention, wondering why he was ignoring them so much. In truth, he was afraid of the negative comments they’d make on his appearance. It was their first time seeing him, after all.
His behaviour didn’t go unnoticed by Yoo Joonghyuk either, who found his silence concerning. He couldn’t speak up though, because each time he’d even acknowledge his friend’s existence it would get clipped and go into yet another fan-made compilation titled “JOONGDOK REAL! NOT CLICKBAIT!”
Then, something in the chat caught both streamers attentions.
There was a new poll made by their mod, Han Sooyoung. While she was great at keeping the chat regulated, she stopped at nothing to embarrass the two streamers. Her poll on the last stream was something about whether Yoo Joonghyuk would be a good father, which set the chat in flames. Kim Dokja did find that one entertaining at least, but this time he was worried about the topic of this new poll. Surely it couldn’t be something as cruel as “Is Kim Dokja ugly? Yes or yes.”
The topic took both streamers by surprise, however.
Who would you rather be?
Option 1: Yoo Joonghyuk
Option 2: Kim Dokja
“Sooyoung what kind of question is that?” Kim Dokja wondered out loud, the first he spoke since an hour the stream had started.
The chat spiked up at the sound of his voice, excited to finally have him talking, which did get him a bit happy. Yoo Joonghyuk let out a quiet sigh but said nothing.
Kim Dokja stopped playing the game and watched the poll for a bit. The chat was going too fast for him to see the arguments, but he assumed everyone was going to pick Yoo Joonghyuk, of course they would, why wouldn’t they?
“Hey Joonghyuk-ah?”
He heard a grunt which he took as a response.
“Do you want to be you or me?”
“…Don’t ask stupid questions.”
He chuckled. “It’s okay if you want to be me. I have better hair than you.”
The other faltered, as if genuinely offended. Kim Dokja burst into laughter again.
“We have the same hair.”
“No no, my one is shinier.”
“That’s because you have brighter lights in your room.”
“You sure pay a lot of attention to the details of my room.”
“Stop.”
He covered his mouth and laughed again at Yoo Joonghyuk’s immediate shut down to the attempted flirt. His smile faded when the results of the poll were out.
98% chose Yoo Joonghyuk.
He ignored it and continued playing the game, growing quiet again. He wasn’t the least bit surprise, of course they would choose Yoo Joonghyuk. Who would want to be stuck as someone as boring as himself?
He couldn’t help but peak back at the chat, curious to see the discussions. He wasn’t expecting the current conversation.
One person wrote something along the lines of “I chose Joonghyuk-ssi because then I get to date his cute boyfriend 😍” and a series of “SAME” followed beneath it.
Kim Dokja’s face heated up for multiple reasons and his hands paused at the keyboard for a second.
“We’re- he’s not my boyfriend.” Yoo Joonghyuk said quickly.
Kim Dokja choked and the chat spiked up. Not only did the Supreme King just stutter, but his stoic expression was replaced with embarrassment. Not only that, he didn’t even argue against the chat’s reasoning.
“You mean I’m not suitable enough to be a boyfriend?” Kim Dokja teased to add to the fire.
Yoo Joonghyuk’s in-game character once again froze. That was until he started chasing around Kim Dokja’s character with a weapon.
“WOAH- HEY HEY HEY!” Kim Dokja laughed as he tried not to die.
“We’re not in a “divorce arc” that makes no sense.” Yoo Joonghyuk grumbled under his breath.
“Funny how you only read the chat when they talk about us dating- HEY!”
He successfully killed his character in game.
Kim Dokja sighed and waited for the loading screen to end. He peaked over to the chat and smiled again.
“Hey Joonghyuk-ah a new poll is up.”
“I don’t care.”
“I can see you glancing at your second monitor.”
He glared at the camera. Kim Dokja covered his smile with his palm and looked back at the new poll.
“Who has the bigger crush?
Option 1: Yoo Joonghyuk
Option 2: Kim Dokja
Winner: Yoo Joonghyuk at 100%”
