A Night Stuck at Ramshackle

Summary:

Crowley forced Yuu to have a housewarden bonding session, but the afternoon they planned it happened to have a surprise snowstorm leaving everyone stuck inside Ramshackle Dorm for the night. Although, it’s only a few hours together, most of which they shouldn’t be conscious for. What could go wrong?

Chapter 1: Before Disaster

Summary:

All events happen from Yuu’s perspective

Chapter Text

“What do you mean you’re putting the school on a lockdown?! Crowley, the Housewardens are at Ramshackle for the hangout you told me to plan.” Yuu’s voice rung through the lobby breaking up the mindless chatter of tolerance.

“Well with the snow coming down it’d be practically impossible to walk through. It’ll only be ‘til morning, make it into a sleepover or whatever you kids do,” Crowley remarked without a care for the prefect now being held responsible for his problems, “I’m sure you’ll do fine.”

Crowley hung up the phone immediately after. Yuu now slowly turned to their guests, who all had glares filled with a mix of anger, confusion, and horror.

——————

The day had started off well for Yuu, that was until Crowley called them close to noon. He had told them that the housewardens needed a bonding event and that he was way too busy to do it himself. Maybe he had said it with more grace, but Yuu had learned to deceiver Crowley’s thinly clothed words in the months they’d been at Night Raven College. All Yuu could say in response was an elongated sigh that lasted until they heard their phone beep.

How did Crowley always expect so much from them? What was the number of problems that he had given them at this point? Why was this guy even still the headmage at this school? So many questions that Yuu had spiraled through so many times before. This was why Crewel was their favorite. At least he appreciated their efforts.

Their thinking was interrupted by a certain direbeast, who had been listening in during the phone conversation while eating his lunch of tuna.

“Why don’t ya just do it next week to get it over with?” Grim had stated with food still in his month, “I don’t wanna be forced to deal with your worrin’ and complainin’ for long.”

Grim had a point. Yuu would be taking this out on others if they didn’t do something within the next few days. Besides, there shouldn’t be anything major next week, maybe it would be a good time.

“Alright, I’ll ask them. Knowing this group though I doubt they’d all be free,” Yuu smirked as they sent a quick text in the group chat they use for important information.

Shimpy: Would you guys be free next week today for a hangout? It would just be a few hours at Ramshackle, maybe over a movie or two

The first notification was ‘Rosehearts liked —‘ and soon enough everyone had said they’d go after a bit of persuasion from others. Yuu was shocked at how easily this had gone over compared to other attempts at plans. Hell, how was this better than getting people for monthly meetings? It didn’t matter as long as Crowley wasn’t going to bug them about this anymore.

——————

A week had passed and everyone had arrived within 10 minutes of each other, in person at that; Idia had been the first arrival to Yuu’s confusion, only to see Azul behind him kindly pushing the other inside. Yuu made a mental note to thank the Octavinelle Housewarden later for his commendable action of dragging the Ignihyde Housewarden out of his room. Riddle, Vil, and Malleus had all came a few minutes later on time while Leona and Kalim were slightly late but not extremely. Looking at the group on the couch, Yuu contemplated if this was why Crowley always relied on them. It didn’t make it right, but having the social capabilities to gather all the housewardens was an achievement to be proud of.

The biggest conflict came from what to watch.

“A drama”

“Comedy”

“Tragedy”

The voices started to rise as opinions were made known. This might have been Yuu’s mistake for thinking any of them would agree on something even as simple as a movie. Luckily, Grim had taken the remote and picked a random choice. It was an older classic from what Yuu could tell but it shut the housewardens up for the most part. Little comments would be made between scenes as the movie played out. All the while, snow would start to fall without a thought from inside.

The first movie finished and a second had started when a phone started to ring.

“Now whose phone wasn’t silenced?” questioned Riddle, more upset that someone hadn’t followed common courtesy.

“And such an interesting ringtone at that,” Vil commented.

“Someone shut that thing up,” Leona grumbled, “It’s getting on my nerves.”

“Sorry, that’s mine,” Yuu apologized, shuffling around their seat to get up and take the call a bit away from the group. A few continued to talk about the movie while they took the call. The voice that they heard was Crowley’s.

——————

The sound that came next had been a long, frustrating, ear-grating sigh from the prefect. Almost more of a scream that had been building up for so much more than just the past week. It was enough to shake the housewardens and even Grim to their cores from the sheer unexpected volume and anger a person could hold within themselves.
This was going to be a very, very long night.
