Poster Boy

Summary:

“good night?” he asked gesturing to my expression which I could only imagine was the picture of horror, “oh yeah fabulous,” I drawled sarcastically, scraping my hair back into my claw clip to stop the mandrakes from getting a hold of it and pulling it like they were known to. He smirked back at me, “don’t worry princess, join me in my bed and I promise you will sleep well,” with a final wink he turned to the face the front of the greenhouse as I wrinkled my nose in confusion. Had I woken up in a fever dream? He knew I was Cho’s best friend, and the man was flirting with me?

Dear merlin it was too early.

Chapter Text

If someone had told me prior to arriving at Hogwarts, that there was a smoke detector (aka the most annoying fire alarm ever created in the whole history of humanity) and someone would frequently set off said alarm, meaning everyone in the dorm would have to crawl out of bed to stand outside the portrait, I would’ve laughed.

But no that was very much my reality.

A reality I was rapidly growing to hate.

Jolted awake to the sound of the alarm blaring, red lights swirling around the usually blue dorm room I groaned loudly, slowly moving to a sitting position to glare accusingly round the dorm. From my vantage point I could see the beginnings of movement of two bodies on Cho’s bed, guess Cedric slept over I thought to myself, reaching for my pj bottoms and tugging them on over my practically invisible pj shorts, further pulling down my oversized pj top – which was really a recycled t-shirt stolen from my brother, before shuffling to the edge of my bed.

Stifling a yawn as I went I sighed to myself, nothing like a forced wake up call, “what gives?” Marietta groaned loudly from her bed where she had made no progress or attempt to even acknowledge the fire alarm that was somehow getting louder by the second. Seriously who had added ‘must get louder’ feature to the stupid thing? “come on, we’ve got to go,” I mumbled through another yawn, as I dragged myself in the direction of the dorm door and down the stairs to the portrait hole which I unceremoniously fell through on my way out.

“you look rough,” Eddie commented casually as he helped me recover my already lacking sense of balance, well recover might have been an overstatement, he picked me up sort of and then laughed. Typical Eddie. Typical teenage boy. “good morning to you too,” I muttered in response, attempting to tame my hair as we gathered with the rest of the Ravenclaw students crowded round the portrait hole who had also been given an unexpected wake up call. None of whom looked any more awake than I felt, or pleased about the wake up call either.

It was strange to think a wizarding magic school would have fire alarms but even in the wizarding world you clearly couldn’t escape muggle regulations for boarding schools. “you know mornings really do suit you,” he continued conversationally as I debated the likely punishment for punching him or at the very least giving him a sharp prod with my wand. Maybe an elbow would be more forgivable?

“do you charm all the girls like this or am I just extra unfortunate?” I uttered, folding my arms over my chest as I stood beside him, the portrait hole still emptying out students as McGonagall strode up the stairs towards the portrait hole. “good morning all,” she acknowledged with a tight nod as Cho finally came tumbling through the portrait hole with a boy who was definitely not Cedric. My jaw nearly hit the floor as I shot her an incredulous look, she offered a small guilty smile as she shuffled out the way of McGonagall and dragged Marcus Belby behind her.

Oh my merlin.

“busy night in the girls dorm,” Eddie remarked giving me a knowing look as I stared back at him affronted, “I will have you know I do not conduct sleepovers,” he chuckled quietly, stretching casually in a move designed to expose his abs, of which I had no interest in so must have been for the benefit of one of the younger students. “Chill y/n, I know you don’t,” I rolled my eyes at him, stifling another yawn as McGonagall made her return, her cloak billowing behind her powerfully despite the early hour of the morning and the half-asleep students gathered around.

“I trust this will not happen again,” with a firm look she turned on her heel and disappeared briskly down the corridor leaving the rest of us to return to our beds that would likely be cold by the time we finally got back into them. I was proven right when I flopped back onto my bed to discover it now cold and unwelcoming, not the cosy warm nest I had left ten minutes prior. If I had been planning to question Cho, I had missed my opportunity, as she had slunk back into the dorm, still smiling guiltily before clambering onto her bed and drawing the curtains hastily. The planned inquisition would have to wait till later. One looked at Marietta’s face confirmed she was also planning on getting some answers.

We all knew Cedric and Cho were the ‘it’ couple of Hogwarts, and on a private level Cho had shared how uncertain she had been growing about the relationship. But this? This was unexpected to say the least. Even more unexpected than the time Cho had admitted her not so subtle crush on wonder boy Potter, that truly had been shocking. But this was next level. What made it all the more shocking was the fact me and Marietta had to be woken up by a fire alarm going off to find out, we were meant to be her best friends. Colour me confused. Groaning loudly, I tugged the duvet back over my head and attempted to sleep for a few more hours before the school day began again.

Several hours later and I was back awake, eyes half shut from the lack of decent sleep and I dragged my sorry arse to the greenhouses (the other side of campus of course) and herbology class, pulling my earmuffs on firmly to prevent any more unwelcome loud noises. I couldn’t even claim I was hungover, just knackered and in need of decent uninterrupted sleep. Naturally this meant I was joined by the poster boy for Hufflepuff perfection positioning himself across from me, a bright smile stretched across his face as he settled on the bench opposite me.

I got my chance to question Cho not long after herbology, having found her in the corner of the library, tucked away behind dozens of bookshelves. “studying again?” I asked gently to not startle her as I shuffled into the small space, carrying a stack of textbooks as I did. “NEWTs don’t pass themselves,” she replied with one of her easy shrugs, I'd loved to have pretended I was as good of a student as her, but it would be a filthy lie, “fancy doing my herbology work then?” I asked settling opposite her at the table she shook her head laughing quietly, “funnily enough no,” I shrugged, “worth a try,” she smiled easily placing a full stop at the end of whatever she had been writing before turning her attention to me. “I'm guessing you want to ask about this morning?” I shrugged, “pretty sure Marietta would like to be here for that too,”

“oh I'm here don’t you worry about me,” Marietta announced walking into the small study space, creating a sound barrier charm behind her as she did. “you’ve got quite a few questions to answer missy,” she added fake menacingly as she settled on a seat around the table creating a circular triangle from our respective seats. Cho giggled guiltily as she did everything to avoid looking at either of us, “spill the beans Cho, you were busted by a fire alarm,” I reminded her with a knowing smile as she covered her face with her hands. “Literally the worst way to be busted by the way,” she said laughing through her hands, “could’ve been worse… actually no it couldn’t,” Marietta replied with a knowing smile.

Cho sighed quietly as our laughter died out, “me and Ced have been broken up for a while but there wasn’t a right time to tell anyone, you guys know what happened with the tournament I mean he nearly died, he saw Voldy, he was literally headed to death’s dinner party with an invitation in hand. And I love him of course I do, but after that we realised we just weren’t compatible anymore, I couldn’t deal with the fear of having almost lost him and he was processing that already, he didn’t need me too…” we both nodded understandingly, the tournament had traumatised everyone and Cedric and Cho had most certainly taken the brunt of it.

Not to say wonder boy hadn’t suffered his fair share, but his encounters with Voldy were annual at this point, for Cedric and Cho it was a new hell that they should never have been subjected to. They had both taken it understandably hard. “well anyway we broke things off and I'd been exploring I mean Potter tried taking me on a date, you guys remember that right…” the shared wince between Marietta and I was enough confirmation for her to continue, “yeah exactly and well Marcus was just there, he’s always been a good friend to me and suddenly we were spending hours, and I mean hours, every day and night together and you know things just grew. Please don’t hate me,” we both leapt from our seats to hug her.

“we could never hate you,” I murmured as Marietta made sounds of agreement, smoothing down Cho’s hair in her caring motherly way. For the moment I decided against mentioning Cedric’s flirty comment, even if it was serious, this wasn’t the moment, and by the time we were finished having our girly inquisition slash catch up it was time for another class anyway.

“see you at lunch,” I waved goodbye to the pair before heading off for my next lesson, and just like that the rest of the day disappeared until it was long after curfew and I had padded down to the prefect bathrooms deciding I'd rather do the walk than fight for a time slot using the shower in our dorm. Because yes we did in fact have time slots as between four teenage girls, we were never going to manage to equally share shower slots otherwise.

Besides it wasn’t like the prefect bathrooms were exactly far from the Ravenclaw dorm and the facilities were definitely superior. I sighed to myself feeling my muscles finally relax under the hot spray of the shower water, washing my hair and body with the warm steam spreading around the cubicle and engulfing me. A hot shower was exactly what I needed after such an eventful day. Still sighing in delight, I clambered from the shower, wrapping a fluffy white towel around myself as I stepped out of the shower cubicle and into the main bathroom.

Which of course coincided with someone making their entrance, “Helga and merlin!” I screeched wheeling round to see Cedric tugging off his button-down school shirt post curfew checks, grasping the towel tightly to my body. “trust me I didn’t know you were in here,” he stated grabbing his shirt from where he had dropped it and going to put his arm back into one of the sleeves as I turned back around to face the ornate tiling and huge stained glass windows instead, refusing to look at him as I put my back to him, still gripping the towel of course. “well I didn’t think you were stalking me,” I muttered under my breath, “oh you wish darling,” he teased knowingly as I huffed still facing away from him, willing myself not to turn around and face him for any reason.

As it happened, I needn’t have bothered, he instead stepped round to face me, his shirt back on but undone revealing smooth defined muscles and flesh. “pft in your dreams Diggory,” I replied, doing my best to not stare at the muscles that were exactly my eye level, “I take it you know about me and Cho splitting up?” he began, removing his shirt painfully slowly as though he hadn’t only just put it back on. The man should go to the matron if his body temp was that off the charts, though I decided not to suggest it, keeping my wise remark to myself for once. “does it matter if I know?” I questioned trying to keep my eyes on his and not beak eye contact even if the view was tantalisingly slow and very appreciated.

“just checking,” he replied with a nonchalant shrug, tossing his shirt off in some general direction behind us, really did he have something against that shirt? Poor thing was being thrown all over the place. “I hope you know you’re not walking back through the corridors like that,” he added, running his eyes up and down the length of my body, his eyes settling on the towel with a click of his tongue in irritation. “oh no I thought I would, give everyone a good show,” I replied sarcastically rolling my eyes at him, he scoffed quietly, catching his fingers around my chin and pressing it upwards to tilt my head up to meet his eyes properly – hard when the man was 6’3 and I was 5’6 on a good day.

“put my robe on,” he ordered, it was my turn to scoff, “I don’t know who you think you’re talking to Diggory but I'm not a dog,” he smirked widely, “but I bet you’d be a good girl for me,” I made a tch sound. “Honestly, I need whatever you’re drinking to make you this delusional to think I would go for you. You’re my best friend’s ex, stay in your lane,” I reminded him, folding my arms over my chest stubbornly, feeling the towel shift at the new movement.

“I know exactly who you are y/l/n, and as you already know me and Cho are nothing to each other now,” I rolled my eyes at him again, feeling him grip my chin slightly firmer, his fingers pressing in harder than before, in a way I knew I would feel for days. “keep rolling your eyes at me and I will make them roll back for a very different reason,” he murmured lowly, “now stop being stubborn and put my robe on before you walk back to your common room like that.”

I made another tch sound but made an effort not to roll my eyes again, “funnily enough I was going to get changed,” I remarked, eyebrow raised at him daring him to question me. “then get on with it?” his eyes rolled but instead of honouring him with a response which he really didn’t deserve I turned on my heel and marched back to the shower cubicle to get changed in somewhat peace. That boy was going to the literal god forsaken death of me one day. “curse me all you want y/l/n but you know I'm right,” he called confidently as I tugged on my pj shorts, having abandoned my towel on the floor to allow me get to changed faster.
“suck it Diggory,” I replied under my breath, “I heard that,” bloody idiot.

“good, because I won’t be sucking it for you, you’ll have to do it yourself,” I quipped, tugging my oversized sleeping t-shirt over the shorts, completely hiding them from view. “happy now?” I huffed stepping out of the shower cubicle again holding the towel aloft like a trophy to prove I had in fact got changed. “Not really,” he remarked with a shrug, reaching down to pick up his robes, “stop being a stubborn brat y/l/n, and accept the help,” he stated, placing the robes over my shoulders, even without doing them up they swamped my body so much everything was sheltered from view.

He nodded in a self-satisfied type of way as I huffed, attempting to ignore how warm and comforting his robes actually were, the boys’ robes were clearly made differently, as Cedric’s robes felt heavier than my own. “can I go now?” I asked stifling a yawn, Cedric’s eyes roamed me once more. “yeah go,” I mock saluted him before stomping out of the prefects bathroom and back in the direction of the Ravenclaw tower, if the portrait was surprised at the appearance of Hufflepuff robes, she didn’t mention it and allowed me quiet entry as I scrambled through the portrait hole and crossed the common room to reach the stairs that led up to the girls’ dorms. Surprisingly the dorm was in darkness, and I was able to creep to my room and slide between the covers, abandoning Diggory’s robes at the foot of the bed.

Returning them would be a problem for a different day.

As it turned out, the one time you wanted to find Cedric was the one time it was practically impossible to. The man had a talent for appearing when I never wanted him around and yet the one time I needed him he just poof-ed into thin air?? What the heck was up with that? “a little birdie mentioned you were looking for me, miss me so soon?” I whipped round to be face to face with the man in question, gripping his robes extra tight as he smirked across at me, pushing himself off the wall he had been propping up.

“how do you do that?” I hissed at him, marching to where he was to shove his robes into his grip, “wear them, you look good in them,” I scoffed quietly to myself, the man was a walking flirt and it was going to get us both in trouble at this rate. “no thanks, I'm not about to betray my house,” he chuckled to himself, but made no argument and took the robes out of my hands, I surveyed him in silence tilting my head to the side, “something amusing?” I wondered aloud, “not really,” I couldn’t decide what was worse, him flirting or him playing ignorant.

They were both infuriating just in very different ways. For a moment the corridor was silent, as we stared at one another – me trying to figure him out, him just staring. “what are you thinking?” he asked quietly, “I'm wondering why you’re flirting with me when you used to date my best friend,” I answered truthfully, I had never been a good liar and definitely not convincing, but honesty was something I did well and without concern. Turned out Cedric was no exception.

“you’re hot,” I spluttered on air, “don’t act like you don’t know it y/l/n, you must look in the mirror once in a while,” my eyebrow rose at him silently, “well you’re a lot more than your looks but it’s definitely the first feature I noticed about you, even if it was when you were consoling Cho over a breakup,” again I spluttered on air, Cedric having decided me choking to death in front of him clearly wasn’t a good look came over and patted me firmly on the back until I was breathing normally – or as normal as possible – again.

“I think that was a compliment,” he smirked widely, leaning down so that his mouth was level with my ear, “you know it was,” he whispered, his breath tickling my ear and all the hairs on the back of my neck rising as he did it. “see you later gorgeous, I'm personally hoping for another prefect bathroom run in,” with a final flirty wink he disappeared off down the corridor as I pressed myself to the cold stone and tried to work out what the hell in merlin’s name had just happened.

Upon realising I was never going to figure out what went on in that man’s head I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, tussling it around as a fidget toy before finally pushing off the wall – not dissimilarly to how Cedric had – and made my way towards the Ravenclaw common room which was surprisingly empty for a weekend so early in November. I settled alone on the sofa closest to the fireplace and lost myself staring into the fire like I did as a child, “need some company?” Cho asked breaking into my thoughts as I turned to face her, blinking away the haze that my eyes had become from staring into the fire for too long.

“never been mad at company,” she smiled softly settling down beside me, leaning close to rest her head on my shoulder, “now I'm not one to pry,” I shot her a knowing side eye which she returned with that gummy smile of hers that always melted something within me. “but why aren’t you going on a date with Ced by now? the man is literally begging for it,” I sighed quietly, “you know he would rip your clothes off in a fraction of a second given half an opportunity,” she added unnecessarily, “that’s the problem Cho, I don’t want a man who sees me purely for my body. I am more than my body and being called hot is nice but it’s not a reflection of someone who knows me, it’s someone who wanks off to me,”

I muttered the last bit flatly, “you know damn well Ced views you for more than your body,” Cho defended, sitting up to fold her arms over her chest like a petulant toddler. “doesn’t seem like it,” I turned back to staring into the fire, thinking back to earlier where his first adjective of choice was hot. Not exactly selling the whole ‘sees you as a person, sees you for who you are’ thing Cho was preaching. And fundamentally, to be loved is to be seen and to be seen for more than your body? Well that was a step in the right direction really wasn’t it? “I swear you are both hopeless,” she huffed to herself which I chose to ignore,

“look y/n/n, I dated the man I know what he’s like and I know it might not seem like it right now but he’s one of the good ones, I promise you he is,” I stayed silent not wanting to voice my inner cynic who was screaming that they all seem good till they’re not. “I know he’s a poster boy for fucking around and finding out right now and what with all the tournament stuff he was a literal poster boy but he truly is one of the good ones. Go on a date with him, one date and if it doesn’t work out no harm done but give him a chance and give yourself a chance on love too, it doesn’t hurt to try,” I silently added that it often does hurt and a hell of a lot but didn’t fight her on it. I wouldn’t win when it came to her opinion of Cedric.

“I hope you plan to sleep with one eye open for the rest of term,” I stated lowly, shooting daggers at the back of Cho’s head, not that she seemed to notice and if she did then she certainly didn’t care. “doesn’t worry me,” she replied with a nonchalant shrug as she wrapped my oversized scarf around my neck for what felt like the hundredth time. “It definitely should,” she smiled her toothy smile again and nodded in the direction of something behind me, we had been stood outside the castle for the best part of the last ten minutes in the November weather which I was not enjoying.

The weather was invariably worse at Hogwarts than anywhere else in the UK and despite my layers I was shivering – no such problem for Cho however who despite only wearing a thin sweater and her Ravenclaw house colours scarf seemed just fine. It was nice for some. “oh I'm not worried, if this goes the way I think it will, you won’t be asleep in our dorm for a very lonnnnnnnnng time,” she smirked knowingly, turning me round with surprising strength I had no idea she posed to face Cedric who was striding across the dewy grass terrain towards us.

“thank you for looking after my date Ms Chang, I can take it from here,” I was too stunned to speak as Cedric held out his arm towards me, and it was only thanks to a sharp elbow from Cho that I shifted forward to loop my arm through his. “have the best time!” she cheered hurrying us away and towards the station before either of us could even attempt to argue. “is it not weird having an ex wing woman you?” I wondered aloud as we walked down the hill towards the station,

“kinda,” Cedirc admitted, “but if it means I get to spend time with the most beautiful girl at Hogwarts then it would be rude to complain,” he offered a cheeky wink as he helped me onto the train, my mouth barely stopping from falling open into a gawk. He placed a finger under my jaw, nudging it shut as he stepped onto the train, “let’s try and find an empty carriage, don’t need an audience” I allowed him to shuffle to be in front of me, him picking up my hand and entwining it with his as he walked past like he was terrified I would somehow disappear on the Hogwarts express.

My inner cynic screamed chance would be a fine thing but she was silenced by a realisation that I didn’t hate how his hand felt in mine. Settling in an empty booth just as the train pulled away from the station I settled myself opposite Cedric studying his features in detail, I could see why he had a fan club, he was not harsh on the eyes in the slightest. A chiselled jaw, high cheekbones, sparkling brown eyes and messy brown hair that fell just enough to make it look purposeful as opposed to an actual mess.

He was swoon central, I couldn’t deny that. “done checking me out?” he teased with a boyish smile as I laughed quietly, “a girl can take in the view can she not?” he shrugged, “never said I was complaining, I spend enough time staring at you,” he added unashamedly as I reminded myself breathing was important and necessary. “good to know I'm the reason your grades are always below mine,” he smirked widely and I realised a beat too late the opportunity I had just left open to him like a total idiot, “I wouldn’t mind if my grades weren’t the only thing below you,” he smirked knowingly with an exaggerated wink, glancing briefly out of the window as we pulled into Hogsmeade train station.

The train journey was so short I often wondered why the teachers didn’t just let us floo or fly to Hogsmeade, it couldn’t be doing the environment any good all these steam trains moving around constantly. “come on my beautiful date, we have a date to go on and a tiny village to explore – is it a town or a village?” I shrugged uselessly, “you’re asking the wrong person, geography has never been my strong point,” he smirked again, “and what is your strong point?” I sighed and swatted at him but was unable to hide the smile that was threatening to take over my face.

As far as first dates went, it certainly wasn’t bad.

We started with a wander through Hogsmeade which had a light dusting of snow and a heavy dusting of dew from the morning air which made it some sort of ice rink to try and stay up on. I was glad to have Cedric considering his balance as a quidditch player apparently also transferred to balancing on dewy grounds, I couldn’t claim my own balance was nearly as good. We walked past several shops overflowing with third years who were buying up the joke and sweet shops respectively and instead settled on the stationary shop – Tomes and Scrolls,

“I love hand written things,” I murmured to Cedric as I stood running my hand over the soft journal covers, “it shows someone took the time to not only think of you but to put effort into you and write something by hand when they could find other ways to speed up the process, there’s something so loving in that act, isn’t there?” I prompted, turning to face him only to realise he was already staring at me with a look in his eye that I couldn’t quite pinpoint. “I’ve never thought of it like that,” he murmured, “but now you say it, I totally agree,” he added, gently pushing a strand of hair out of my face and looping it behind my ear and the arm of my glasses.

Finally we ended up in the haunt of all Hogwarts students, the overcrowded but well loved Three Broomsticks, “I don’t think we’re getting a seat in here,” I murmured from where I had been forced behind Cedric, unable to stand next to him due to the sheer number of people. “not unless I sit on your lap that is,” I added under my breath, “I can always get on board with that,” he replied turning to wink at me as I blushed not having thought he would’ve heard me over the general hum of background chatter.

Mercifully, Cedric didn’t follow through and instead got us two butterbeers to take away which we did at speed, exiting as yet more students poured in, “that’s my new idea of hell confirmed,” I murmured, cheers-ing our cups against each other before taking a sip of the warm butterscotch foam, “ugh this is better than sex,” I moaned quietly, breathing out a happy sigh. “clearly don’t have good sex,” Cedric quipped taking a sip of his own drink, “I will have you know I have very good sex, but this butterbeer is better than it,” I corrected taking another happy slurp of it.

“we’ll have to test that theory at some point,” he replied with a wink, linking our arms once more and burying his hand in his jacket as the cold whipped round us. We completed one more round of Hogsmeade before returning to the castle, which was once again half empty due to most people having gone to Hogsmeade ahead of the Christmas holidays. Cedric walked me back to my dorm, making a point to throw away our empty cups before answering the Ravenclaw riddle as I looked at him in surprise,

“Cho taught me there is a certain trick to all the riddles,” he murmured, leaning over to me hesitantly before pressing a kiss to my forehead, “she never taught me,” I muttered as he chuckled quietly, “don’t worry gorgeous, I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities in the future for me to teach you.” I ignored the hammering of my heart as I smiled back at him before disappearing into the common room well aware I was about to have the Cho inquisition – probably only partially revenge for the joint inquisition me and Marietta had executed several weeks before, which already felt like a lifetime ago.

As luck would have it, one day of Diggory was apparently not enough for the universe and I found myself with his wish being granted of another prefect bathroom run in. I had barely and narrowly at that escaped the Cho inquisition, as expected she had indeed bombarded me with questions and would not let up until she had answers. Answers I couldn’t always provide but did my best nonetheless. She had finally relented and I had taken the opportunity for a bath in the prefects bathroom, I couldn’t imagine anything better than an overflowing bubble bath and rising steam with the beautiful ceiling and windows of the bathrooms, it was the perfect end to a day that had been filled with surprises.

I slunk into the bathroom and was part way through my well-deserved just-a-few-degrees-below-hell-fire soak when the water of one of the showers abruptly shut off, I couldn’t claim I had even noticed it running when I had first walked in but now was painfully aware of its’ absence. Too tired to even bother panicking I slowly opened one eye to see what could only be described as the full Greek god effect of Cedric Diggory. If I'd thought the previous temptation of his shirt unbuttoned revealing a sneak peak was delectable then this was outright delicious mouth watering. Appropriate description? Probably not but no words would do the man justice anyway.

Cedric exited the shower cubicle, a fluffy white towel hanging low on his waist revealing his full and defined abs that were screaming all manner of inappropriate things at me. “well isn’t this a nice surprise?” he commented catching my eye with a wry smirk, stretching just enough to nudge the towel lower and reveal an equally well defined v-line. Merlin and Helga this man was trying to kill me twice in one day. If my heart had been hammering on the date then it was about to come out of my chest there and then in the bubbles and hell-fire-water. “the view is nice,” I remarked attempting to come off casual but was certain I hadn’t, “thank you darling I do try,” he smirked walking slowly over to where I was still hidden beneath a huge pile of bubbles.

“oh I can tell,” I teased, somehow feeling more relaxed than I had earlier despite the bubbles and towels protecting both of our modesties. “this is better than my dreams,” he murmured, gently pushing another strand of hair out of my face, “reality often is,” I teased with a small smirk as he groaned quietly, “you are killing me woman,” I scoffed unable to hold back my lack of belief in him,

“and you’re not killing me when you flirt with me? When you stretch and show off that body of yours? Boy you are the one killing me,” his smirk was wider than the Cheshire cat’s as he settled on the floor beside the bath tub and stared into my eyes, “then let’s hope this doesn’t kill you,” he murmured leaning in till his lips were sealed on mine and in that moment I may as well have ascended to heaven…

The happy ending
