Chapter Text
Chuuya had to remind himself throughout the first day that he had to do this. And he had to be here.
He had been job hunting for any job that would take an 18-year-old right out of high school, since he couldn't go to college, or really do anything but get a job.
He had found a job that pays well, the only downside being that it was a few hours away from home, but it was a live-in job. It was for a cleaner, which he wasn’t ecstatic about, but this was for his family. He had gotten picked up by one of their drivers and arrived at the mansion 3 hours later. It was huge, massive even.
He steps out of the car and is led by a butler to his room.
“This will be your room, the boss has requested you go down to the living room once you have put your stuff down.” The butler says. He doesn't give Chuuya much time to reply before leaving the room.
Chuuya looks around the room. It has the same look as the rest of the house does. Dark wood ceilings mahogany accents. It is pretty but looks like it would be insanely creepy at night.
Chuuya sets his suitcase on the bed and heads down the stairs, and then realizes he has no clue where the living room is. He looks around and sees a room through a doorway that looks like it might be a living room.
He walks through the doorway and sees a man sitting in a chair drinking tea. Chuuya walks closer and the man opens his eyes.
“Ah, you've here. You must be Nakahara.” The man says.
“Yes I am sir.” Chuuya responds.
“Good, I am Ogai Mori.”
After the introductions the boss gives him a list of daily chores he must do.
“Of course this is not all you will do everyday, there will be additional chores that change day to day.”
Chuuya nods and begins to leave to start his first chore.
“Oh and Nakahara? Watch out for him, he doesn’t like the cleaners I hire.”
Chuuya just nods then leaves the room. Who is he? Why doesn't he like the cleaners that are hired? This shakes chuuya up a little but he doesnt let it affect him.
He begins cleaning for a bit and about an hour in a little girl comes up to him. She is blonde and wears a red dress with a bow in her hair.
“Are you the new cleaner?” She asks him.
“Yes I am.”
She stares at him for a bit, he couldn't shake the feeling he was being judged.
“Okay! My name is Elise.” She then skipped away towards the living room.
Chuuya thought that was pretty weird, but obviously not who the boss was warning him about.
Chuuya then realizes this house is extremely big, therefore a lot of people must live in this house right? He had only seen 2 so far, and some workers. I guess they could be live in also.
Chuuya then continues cleaning, checking things off the list as he goes. It's about 5pm when he's done with everything. He returns to the living room to find the boss but discovers he's no longer there.
Chuuya sighs and walks around trying to find him. He then runs into a little boy. He has white hair with a black streak through it, and he looks around 4 or 5.
“Hey kid, do you know where uh..” He pauses for a moment. He assumes the boss is his dad but he's not entirely sure. “Do you know where your dad is?” he asks.
The little kid looks up at him, “I think he's in his office! I can show you if you want!” The boy replies.
“That would be great, thank you.” Chuuya responds.
The boy smiles and starts walking in a direction, Chuuya follows him. After walking for what felt like 5 minutes they arrived at a door in the middle of a library.
The boy knocks on the door.
“Who is it?” A voice from inside asks.
“It's me dad! And a man with red hair.”
“Come in.”
The boy opens the door and the office is revealed. It's a good size for an office, with bookcases surrounding it.
“Hello Atsushi. How was your day at school?”
“It was great! And after school Dazai picked me up and got me ice cream!”
“Well wasn't that nice of him?”
The boy nods, “now go play with Elise and leave me to talk with him okay?”
“Okay dad!” Atsushi leaves the room.
“Well, I see you have met my youngest, quite the bundle of happiness isn't he?”
“Yes he is sir. I've also met.your daughter.”
“Yes they do keep each other company. My oldest is somewhere around here. Count yourself lucky you haven't ran into him yet.” He notes.
“How many kids do you have?” Chuuya thinks to ask.
“Four, but one of them is away at college, so I have three currently.” He answers.
Chuuya sighs, “Is your oldest the one that doesn't like cleaners?”
He is quiet for a bit before he responds. “Yes, but I'll let you figure out the details yourself.”
“Okay? Anyway I finished the list sir.”
He raises an eyebrow, “already? Are you sure you did it correctly?”
“Um, yes? I mean it took me over 8 hours to clean everything.”
He narrows his eyes, “you better not be lying kid.”
“Of course sir, I would never do that.”
“Good. Now go clean the kitchen appliances.” He orders, then turns around back to his desk, making it obvious this conversation was over.
Chuuya leaves the room and silently prays he doesn't run into the boss’ oldest anytime soon.
Chuuya gets to the kitchen and begins cleaning the ovens, which he thought was a good place to start.
“What are you doing in my kitchen?” Chuuya hears a voice say from behind him.
Chuuya backs out of the oven and turns to the voice.
It's a red haired girl who has her hands on her hips.
“I apologize ma'am, I was just cleaning the kitchen appliances like the boss told me too.”
“Oh so you're the new cleaner. My name is Lucy, I'm the head chef. And you are in my kitchen so you will follow my rules.” She takes the cleaner out of his hands and replaces it with a different one.
“Oh- I- sorry.”
“It's whatever, this cleaner is just better for kitchen stuff. Never use anything but this one ever again. Okay?”
Chuuya nods. Why is everyone in this mansion so threatening?
By the time he's done it's around 10pm. He visits the boss one more time and gets the okay to go to his room to sleep. First day over and he already hates it. He sighs, well, this is his home now. No turning back.
