Chapter Text
Everything was dark. Everything felt heavy. The last thing Cole could remember was the bounty flying into that weird storm. Then, there was a flash of bright light, which contrasted the current darkness of wherever he was. Even though Cole opened his eyes, his vision was still blanketed by darkness. He inhaled a deep breath. The air smelled of metal and Jay’s socks. But mainly metal. A small ray of sun peeked through whatever was obstructing Cole. He used what little strength he had to pull his arms out from under whatever was weighing down on them, and began to push on whatever was holding him down. After enough force, he was able to break free from what he discovered was a large piece of scrap metal. He sat up, and looked around. He was in what looked like a junkyard. But it wasn’t like Ed & Edna’s junkyard. The dirt was a weird mix of brown with a hint of purple, and the sky was a light orange. Was that from a sunrise or a sunset? It didn’t matter. What he needed to do was find his friends. They were probably in situations similar to what he’d just found himself in. He hopped up and began walking around.
“Hello? Kai? Jay? Nya? Is anyone there?” He was met with no response. Great. He continued to wander around this weird junkyard in search of his friends, but only made even weirder revelations in the process. There were piles of old cars, socks, keys, dead plants, you name it. But what Cole found even weirder were the trash geysers, which spewed more random junk. Where the hell was he? Clearly not in Ninjago. Where he was didn’t matter to him. What mattered more was where his friends were. It looked like it was going to get dark soon, and who knows what happens to this place at night. He needed to find his friends, and fast.
After what felt like more hours of searching, Cole resulted to calling his friend’s names again.
“Jay, if this is another one of your terrible pranks, you can call it off now! Haha very funny!” Cole finally got a response! But it wasn’t what he’d thought it’d be. He heard a scream off in the distance. His ninja instincts kicked in and he quickly found the source of the shriek. It was coming from under a pile of scrap, similar to the position he’d woken up in. “Don’t worry, I’ll help you out!” He used his earth element to lift the metal, and tossed it aside. And underneath the metal was… a little girl?
