Work Text:
You were spending your afternoon cleaning up your apartment when there was a knock at your door. You hadn't been expecting anyone so you were a bit thrown off by the interruption. You were even more surprised to find the it was you neighbor from across the hall. The two of you had only ever shared words in passing, but he was always friendly and you'd be lying if you said you didn't have a small crush.
"Hey, sorry for the surprise visit, but I was baking and accidentally made way too many. So, I thought I'd bring some over," he says.
"What kind of cookies?" you ask.
"Gingerbread and some Snickerdoodles," he says. "I didn't know if you liked them, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask."
"How did you accidentally make too much?" you ask.
"Just got the measurements wrong," he says. "Simple mistake."
"Uh-huh..." you say, voice full of skepticism, as you take the tin of cookies from him. You couldn't help but notice he seemed a bit nervous. "Did you perhaps just make cookies?"
"I just... I was already making cookies and I thought you would like some," he says.
"Well, thank you, I appreciate it," you say with a smile. "Would you maybe want to come in and share some with me?"
"Really?" he asks.
"You went to the trouble of making cookies for me, figured we could hang out for a bit. If you want to, that is," you say.
"Yeah, I'd like that," he says and follows you inside your apartment.
