Hrívë

Summary:

A poetic glimpse into a scene in my story, Tale of the Southlands , showing a tender moment from their peaceful forest life as the snowflakes fall.

Work Text:

I wander beneath a gray snowy sky

To a place where the pine trees grow close and tall

My footsteps fall lightly on glittering white

And in shades of deep green the shadows surround

My heart is full as I make my way

To where one waits, whom I love so dear

And though shadowy as the forest deep

No greater purity exists than his

I make my way beneath the trees

To where a great fir stands dark and tall

And under its boughs my beloved awaits

I go to him swiftly and fall in his arms

His hair is like shadows, his eyes filled with light

His embrace is like heaven as he holds me close

And as we kiss softly the tears flow again

For no greater love has ever there been
